Pacijenti oboljeli od raka u EU nemaju jednak pristup liječničkim tretmanima zbog razlike u razvijenosti država članica, upozorila je u srijedu Europska organizacija za borbu protiv raka (ECO). 

Uoči Međunarodnog dana borbe protiv raka, 4. veljače, Europska komisija je obznanila da je za novi plan EU-a za borbu protiv raka izdvojeno četiri milijarde eura. Ključna područja djelovanja plana su prevencija bolesti, rano otkrivanje, dijagnoza, proces liječenja te poboljšanje kvalitete života pacijenata koji su preživjeli rak.

Istim je povodom u srijedu održana konferencija "Ujedinjeni protiv raka" u organizaciji Europske pučke stranke (EPP) na kojoj su europski političari, znanstvenici i predstavnici zdravstvenih organizacija kao glavnu prepreku europske akcije u borbi protiv raka istaknuli nejednakost i neravnopravnost država članica u pristupu liječenja i zdravstvenoj skrbi pacijenata.

Hrvatska je, na primjer, peta zemlja EU po smrtnosti od raka. 

'Razlika istoka i zapada'

Tomislav Sokol (HDZ/EPP) tvrdi da je potpuno neprihvatljivo da "o geografskom položaju države ovisi ishod liječenja bolesti jer države na istoku EU nemaju jednak pristup tretmanima i skrbi kao one na zapadu".

S njime se složio predsjednik Europske organizacije za borbu protiv raka, Matti Aapro, upozorivši da "osim pitanja dostupnosti lijekova, probleme predstavljaju i nejednaka kvaliteta terapija te upitna mogućnost dostupnosti onkologa". 

"Od posljedica raka prošle je godine umrlo 1,3 milijuna Europljana, što je tri puta više od broja umrlih od covida”, istaknuo je na konferenciji Manfred Weber, predsjednik kluba zastupnika Europske pučke stranke (EPP), objasnivši da upravo taj podatak ukazuje zašto je borba protiv raka prioritet EPP-a, ali i cijele Europske unije.

Stella Kyriakides, povjerenica Europske komisije za zdravstvo, napomenula je da će osim pokretanja Inicijative za razumijevanje raka (UNCAN.eu) i pristupa sveobuhvatnim centrima povezanim kroz europsku mrežu, poseban naglasak biti stavljen na dobrobit najmlađih pacijenata.

Do 2030. godine se očekuje cijepljenje najmanje 90 posto djevojčica u EU-u, kao i povećanje broja cijepljenih dječaka, radi upala koje potencijalno uzrokuju pojavu raka, izjavila je Kyriakides.

Jedna od najznačajnjih inicijativa je "Pomaganje djeci oboljeloj od raka” čiji je cilj pružiti “djeci i adolescentima učinkovit pristup otkrivanju raka, dijagnozi, liječenju i skrbi", kazala je povjerenica.

Budućnost istraživanja raka te prevencija i liječenje bolesti ovisit će najviše o razvoju moderne tehnologije i inovacijama, kazala je Mariya Gabriel, povjerenica za inovacije, istraživanje, kulturu, obrazovanje i mlade i najavila predstavljanje inovativne zdravstvene inicijative u tu svrhu. 

Plan za borbu protiv raka temeljni je dio Europske zdravstvene unije. Prethodno komenitrajući novu strategiju za prevenciju bolesti, Romana Jerković (SDP/S&D) istaknula je da je ovo "jedinstvena prilika za Hrvatsku da unaprijedi onkološku skrb" budući da je "zemlja sa petom najvećom smrtnošću raka u EU".

Pacijenti oboljeli od raka u EU nemaju jednak pristup liječničkim tretmanima zbog razlike u razvijenosti država članica, upozorila je u srijedu Europska organizacija za borbu protiv raka (ECO). 

Uoči Međunarodnog dana borbe protiv raka, 4. veljače, Europska komisija je obznanila da je za novi plan EU-a za borbu protiv raka izdvojeno četiri milijarde eura. Ključna područja djelovanja plana su prevencija bolesti, rano otkrivanje, dijagnoza, proces liječenja te poboljšanje kvalitete života pacijenata koji su preživjeli rak.

Istim je povodom u srijedu održana konferencija "Ujedinjeni protiv raka" u organizaciji Europske pučke stranke (EPP) na kojoj su europski političari, znanstvenici i predstavnici zdravstvenih organizacija kao glavnu prepreku europske akcije u borbi protiv raka istaknuli nejednakost i neravnopravnost država članica u pristupu liječenja i zdravstvenoj skrbi pacijenata.

Hrvatska je, na primjer, peta zemlja EU po smrtnosti od raka. 

'Razlika istoka i zapada'

Tomislav Sokol (HDZ/EPP) tvrdi da je potpuno neprihvatljivo da "o geografskom položaju države ovisi ishod liječenja bolesti jer države na istoku EU nemaju jednak pristup tretmanima i skrbi kao one na zapadu".

S njime se složio predsjednik Europske organizacije za borbu protiv raka, Matti Aapro, upozorivši da "osim pitanja dostupnosti lijekova, probleme predstavljaju i nejednaka kvaliteta terapija te upitna mogućnost dostupnosti onkologa". 

"Od posljedica raka prošle je godine umrlo 1,3 milijuna Europljana, što je tri puta više od broja umrlih od covida”, istaknuo je na konferenciji Manfred Weber, predsjednik kluba zastupnika Europske pučke stranke (EPP), objasnivši da upravo taj podatak ukazuje zašto je borba protiv raka prioritet EPP-a, ali i cijele Europske unije.

Stella Kyriakides, povjerenica Europske komisije za zdravstvo, napomenula je da će osim pokretanja Inicijative za razumijevanje raka (UNCAN.eu) i pristupa sveobuhvatnim centrima povezanim kroz europsku mrežu, poseban naglasak biti stavljen na dobrobit najmlađih pacijenata.

Do 2030. godine se očekuje cijepljenje najmanje 90 posto djevojčica u EU-u, kao i povećanje broja cijepljenih dječaka, radi upala koje potencijalno uzrokuju pojavu raka, izjavila je Kyriakides.

Jedna od najznačajnjih inicijativa je "Pomaganje djeci oboljeloj od raka” čiji je cilj pružiti “djeci i adolescentima učinkovit pristup otkrivanju raka, dijagnozi, liječenju i skrbi", kazala je povjerenica.

Budućnost istraživanja raka te prevencija i liječenje bolesti ovisit će najviše o razvoju moderne tehnologije i inovacijama, kazala je Mariya Gabriel, povjerenica za inovacije, istraživanje, kulturu, obrazovanje i mlade i najavila predstavljanje inovativne zdravstvene inicijative u tu svrhu. 

Plan za borbu protiv raka temeljni je dio Europske zdravstvene unije. Pacijenti oboljeli od raka u EU nemaju jednak pristup liječničkim tretmanima zbog razlike u razvijenosti država članica, upozorila je u srijedu Europska organizacija za borbu protiv raka (ECO). 

Uoči Međunarodnog dana borbe protiv raka, 4. veljače, Europska komisija je obznanila da je za novi plan EU-a za borbu protiv raka izdvojeno četiri milijarde eura. Ključna područja djelovanja plana su prevencija bolesti, rano otkrivanje, dijagnoza, proces liječenja te poboljšanje kvalitete života pacijenata koji su preživjeli rak.
