Istraživanje u koje je bilo uključeno oko 5000 ispitanika sugerira da poznati propagandni slogan iz nekih prošlih vremena „Jedno jaje snagu daje” nije bila samo zgodna rima, već da samo jedno jaje dnevno zaista može donijeti pregršt značajnih dobrobiti za zdravlje. Sudionici istraživanja koji su jeli jedno cijelo jaje dnevno imali su više razine zdravih proteina i dobrog kolesterola u krvi te niže razine lošeg kolesterola. Ta kombinacija smanjuje rizik za razvoj srčanih i krvožilnih bolesti tako što sprečava da dođe do začepljenja arterija, a to, pak, smanjuje rizik za nastanak srčanog i moždanog udara, piše Živim.

Kardiovaskularne bolesti su inače vodeći uzrok smrti u svijetu

Jaja su prije otprilike deset godina nekako „izašla iz mode” i to nakon što je jedno istraživanje povezalo konzumaciju jaja s povećanom razinom lošeg kolesterola. No, novo istraživanje je otkrilo da osobe koje jedu jaja imaju u krvi više proteina koji se naziva APOA1, a to je glavni građevni materijal za dobar kolesterol. Naime, znanstvenici sa Sveučilišta u Pekingu su 4778 ispitanika u dobi od 30 do 79 godina podijelili upitnike u kojima su trebali dati detaljne informacije o tome kakvu su hranu konzumirali u proteklih 12 mjeseci. Upitnik je uključivao i pitanja poput toga koliko često su konzumirali namirnice iz 10 skupina, poput jaja, riže, pšenice, mesa, peradi, riba, svježeg povrća, voća te mlijeka i mliječnih proizvoda. Postavljeno je i pitanje jedu li jaja nikad/rijetko, jedan do tri puta tjedno, četiri do šest puta tjedno ili svakodnevno. Pokazalo se da ljudi jaja jedu u prosjeku 2,6 dana tjedno.

Krvni test

Ispitanici su podvrgnuti i krvnom testu te su znanstvenici otkrili da su osobe koje su jele između četiri i sedam jaja tjedno imale visoku razinu proteina APOA1. APOA1 je građevni materijal za lipoprotein visoke gustoće (HDL) ili takozvani dobar kolesterol koji odvodi masne tvari u jetru gdje se one razgrađuju. HDL je odgovoran za sprečavanje taloženja masnih naslaga u krvnim žilama. Znanstvenici su također otkrili 14 proteina povezanih sa srčanim bolestima, od kojih neki pomažu u zaštiti od bolesti dok neki doprinose razvoju bolesti. Ispitanici koji su jeli jaja imali su niže razine korisnih proteina te više razine štetnih u usporedbi s osobama koje su češće jele jaja.

Voditeljica studije, prof. Canqing Yu, stručnjakinja za epidemiologiju i javno zdravstvo, rekla je da ovo otkriće donosi moguće objašnjenje zašto je umjerena konzumacija jaja dobra za zdravlje.

- Konzumacija jaja je povezana s nekoliko metaboličkih markera, što može dijelom objasniti zaštitni učinak umjerene konzumacije jaja na bolesti srca i krvnih žila - pojasnila je prof. Yu. Njezini suradnici u istraživanju su dodali da njihova studija podupire prehrambene smjernice kineske vlade, prema kojima se preporučuje konzumacija 40-50 g cijelog jaja, što otprilike odgovara jednom jaju srednje veličine, dnevno. Ipak, smatraju da su potrebna dodatna istraživanja kako bi se potvrdili rezultati ove studije objavljene u časopisu eLife.

Loš glas

Jaja su posljednjih godina došla na loš glas zbog visokog udjela kolesterola u žumanjcima. Naime, jedno veliko jaje sadrži oko 186 mg kolesterola, što je otprilike pola dnevno preporučene količine za odrasle osobe. No, otada je niz istraživanja pokazao da kolesterol u jajima nema značajan učinak na razinu kolesterola u krvi.

Kardiovaskularne bolesti su inače vodeći uzrok smrti u svijetu, ali i u Hrvatskoj, a povišena razina kolesterola smatra se vrlo visokim rizičnim faktorom za razvoj tih bolesti.

Istraživanje u koje je bilo uključeno oko 5000 ispitanika sugerira da poznati propagandni slogan iz nekih prošlih vremena „Jedno jaje snagu daje” nije bila samo zgodna rima, već da samo jedno jaje dnevno zaista može donijeti pregršt značajnih dobrobiti za zdravlje. Sudionici istraživanja koji su jeli jedno cijelo jaje dnevno imali su više razine zdravih proteina i dobrog kolesterola u krvi te niže razine lošeg kolesterola. Ta kombinacija smanjuje rizik za razvoj srčanih i krvožilnih bolesti tako što sprečava da dođe do začepljenja arterija, a to, pak, smanjuje rizik za nastanak srčanog i moždanog udara, piše Živim.

Kardiovaskularne bolesti su inače vodeći uzrok smrti u svijetu

Jaja su prije otprilike deset godina nekako „izašla iz mode” i to nakon što je jedno istraživanje povezalo konzumaciju jaja s povećanom razinom lošeg kolesterola. No, novo istraživanje je otkrilo da osobe koje jedu jaja imaju u krvi više proteina koji se naziva APOA1, a to je glavni građevni materijal za dobar kolesterol. Naime, znanstvenici sa Sveučilišta u Pekingu su 4778 ispitanika u dobi od 30 do 79 godina podijelili upitnike u kojima su trebali dati detaljne informacije o tome kakvu su hranu konzumirali u proteklih 12 mjeseci. Upitnik je uključivao i pitanja poput toga koliko često su konzumirali namirnice iz 10 skupina, poput jaja, riže, pšenice, mesa, peradi, riba, svježeg povrća, voća te mlijeka i mliječnih proizvoda. Postavljeno je i pitanje jedu li jaja nikad/rijetko, jedan do tri puta tjedno, četiri do šest puta tjedno ili svakodnevno. Pokazalo se da ljudi jaja jedu u prosjeku 2,6 dana tjedno.

Krvni test

Ispitanici su podvrgnuti i krvnom testu te su znanstvenici otkrili da su osobe koje su jele između četiri i sedam jaja tjedno imale visoku razinu proteina APOA1. APOA1 je građevni materijal za lipoprotein visoke gustoće (HDL) ili takozvani dobar kolesterol koji odvodi masne tvari u jetru gdje se one razgrađuju. HDL je odgovoran za sprečavanje taloženja masnih naslaga u krvnim žilama. Znanstvenici su također otkrili 14 proteina povezanih sa srčanim bolestima, od kojih neki pomažu u zaštiti od bolesti dok neki doprinose razvoju bolesti. Ispitanici koji su jeli jaja imali su niže razine korisnih proteina te više razine štetnih u usporedbi s osobama koje su češće jele jaja.

Voditeljica studije, prof. Canqing Yu, stručnjakinja za epidemiologiju i javno zdravstvo, rekla je da ovo otkriće donosi moguće objašnjenje zašto je umjerena konzumacija jaja dobra za zdravlje.

- Konzumacija jaja je povezana s nekoliko metaboličkih markera, što može dijelom objasniti zaštitni učinak umjerene konzumacije jaja na bolesti srca i krvnih žila - pojasnila je prof. Yu. Njezini suradnici u istraživanju su dodali da njihova studija podupire prehrambene smjernice kineske vlade, prema kojima se preporučuje konzumacija 40-50 g cijelog jaja, što otprilike odgovara jednom jaju srednje veličine, dnevno. Ipak, smatraju da su potrebna dodatna istraživanja kako bi se potvrdili rezultati ove studije objavljene u časopisu eLife.

Loš glas

Jaja su posljednjih godina došla na loš glas zbog visokog udjela kolesterola u žumanjcima. Naime, jedno veliko jaje sadrži oko 186 mg kolesterola, što je otprilike pola dnevno preporučene količine za odrasle osobe. No, otada je niz istraživanja pokazao da kolesterol u jajima nema značajan učinak na razinu kolesterola u krvi.
