Prema studiji provedenoj u Velikoj Britaniji, neke osobe s dugim covidom vjerojatno imaju skrivena oštećenja na plućima, a sve su pokazale snimke, piše BBC.

Znanstvenici su koristili novu metodu skeniranja plinom kako bi otkrili abnormalnosti na plućima koje se ne mogu vidjeti rutinskim pregledima. Analizirali su osobe kojima nije bila potrebna bolnička skrb kada su se zarazili covidom-19, ali su nakon završetka bolesti imali dugotrajan problem s nedostatkom daha.

Ova studija mogla bi dati neke odgovore na nejasnoće po pitanju dugog covida – stanja koje traje više tjedana nakon infekcije koronavirusom, kod nekih i više mjeseci, i koje se ne može objasniti nekim drugim uzrokom ili oboljenjima.

Znanstvenici su tako usporedili snimke skeniranja plinom i druge preglede pluća kod tri skupine ljudi. Među njima je bilo 11 osoba s dugim covidom koje su imale problema s otežanim disanjem, 12 koje su primljene u bolnicu nakon zaraze koronavirusom, ali bez simptoma dugog covida te 13 zdravih osoba koje su služile kao kontrolna skupina, piše BBC.

Svi sudionici istraživanja udisali su plin ksenon tijekom skeniranja magnetskom rezonancijom (MRI). Plin se ponaša na vrlo sličan način kao i kisik, ali se može vizualno pratiti tijekom skeniranja pa su stručnjaci uspjeli vidjeti koliko se efikasno kreće iz pluća u krvotok.

Otkrili su da je za većinu ljudi s dugim covidom prijenos plina bio manje učinkovit nego kod kontrolne skupine. Kod onih koji su primljeni u bolnicu zbog covida su također uočene slične abnormalnosti.

Specijalistica za plućne bolesti Emily Fraser kazala je da je frustrirajuće kada pacijenti dolaze u kliniku, a ona im ne može točno objasniti zašto imaju problema s disanjem, pogotovo kada RTG i CT ne pokazuju nikakve abnormalnosti.

"Ovo je vrlo važno istraživanje i stvarno se nadam da će nam pružiti neke odgovore", kazala je Fraser.

Budući da se radi o maloj skupini ispitanika koja nije prošla recenziju neovisnih stručnjaka, u tijeku je daljnje istraživanje koje bi trebalo potvrditi ove rezultate.

Prema studiji provedenoj u Velikoj Britaniji, neke osobe s dugim covidom vjerojatno imaju skrivena oštećenja na plućima, a sve su pokazale snimke, piše BBC.

Znanstvenici su koristili novu metodu skeniranja plinom kako bi otkrili abnormalnosti na plućima koje se ne mogu vidjeti rutinskim pregledima. Analizirali su osobe kojima nije bila potrebna bolnička skrb kada su se zarazili covidom-19, ali su nakon završetka bolesti imali dugotrajan problem s nedostatkom daha.

Ova studija mogla bi dati neke odgovore na nejasnoće po pitanju dugog covida – stanja koje traje više tjedana nakon infekcije koronavirusom, kod nekih i više mjeseci, i koje se ne može objasniti nekim drugim uzrokom ili oboljenjima.

Znanstvenici su tako usporedili snimke skeniranja plinom i druge preglede pluća kod tri skupine ljudi. Među njima je bilo 11 osoba s dugim covidom koje su imale problema s otežanim disanjem, 12 koje su primljene u bolnicu nakon zaraze koronavirusom, ali bez simptoma dugog covida te 13 zdravih osoba koje su služile kao kontrolna skupina, piše BBC.

Svi sudionici istraživanja udisali su plin ksenon tijekom skeniranja magnetskom rezonancijom (MRI). Plin se ponaša na vrlo sličan način kao i kisik, ali se može vizualno pratiti tijekom skeniranja pa su stručnjaci uspjeli vidjeti koliko se efikasno kreće iz pluća u krvotok.

Otkrili su da je za većinu ljudi s dugim covidom prijenos plina bio manje učinkovit nego kod kontrolne skupine. Kod onih koji su primljeni u bolnicu zbog covida su također uočene slične abnormalnosti.

Specijalistica za plućne bolesti Emily Fraser kazala je da je frustrirajuće kada pacijenti dolaze u kliniku, a ona im ne može točno objasniti zašto imaju problema s disanjem, pogotovo kada RTG i CT ne pokazuju nikakve abnormalnosti.

"Ovo je vrlo važno istraživanje i stvarno se nadam da će nam pružiti neke odgovore", kazala je Fraser.

Budući da se radi o maloj skupini ispitanika koja nije prošla recenziju neovisnih stručnjaka, u tijeku je daljnje istraživanje koje bi trebalo potvrditi ove rezultate.

Prema studiji provedenoj u Velikoj Britaniji, neke osobe s dugim covidom vjerojatno imaju skrivena oštećenja na plućima, a sve su pokazale snimke, piše BBC.

Znanstvenici su koristili novu metodu skeniranja plinom kako bi otkrili abnormalnosti na plućima koje se ne mogu vidjeti rutinskim pregledima. Analizirali su osobe kojima nije bila potrebna bolnička skrb kada su se zarazili covidom-19, ali su nakon završetka bolesti imali dugotrajan problem s nedostatkom daha.

Ova studija mogla bi dati neke odgovore na nejasnoće po pitanju dugog covida – stanja koje traje više tjedana nakon infekcije koronavirusom, kod nekih i više mjeseci, i koje se ne može objasniti nekim drugim uzrokom ili oboljenjima.
