Američka poduzetnica Iris Apfel, proslavljena u svijetu mode, tekstilne industrije i dizajna i poznata po svom živahnom karakteru, umrla je u 102. godini, prenijeli su u subotu mediji.

Samoproglašena "gerijatrijska starleta", poznata po svom stilu "više je više", postala je senzacija društvenih mreža u svojim poznim godinama nakon što je muzej Metropolitan 2005. postavio izložbu njezinih odjevnih predmeta. Izložba je postala hit jer je Apfel njegovala eklektični stil.

Njezina slava je dodatno porasla nakon dokumentarnog filma "Iris" redatelja Alberta Mayslesa u kojem su prikazani njezin život i kreativnost.

Imala je čak 97 godina kada je potpisala ugovor za modela s globalnom agencijom IMG Models koja zastupa slavne manekenke poput Karlie Kloss i Gisele Bundchen.

Apfel je umrla u svom domu u Palm Beachu, objavljeno je na njezinom Instagram profilu koji ima tri milijuna pratitelja, uz fotografiju Iris s poznatim golemim naočalama s crnim obrubom i koraljno crvenim ružem.

Bila je vjerna nekonvencionalnim, upadljivim odjevnim kombinacijama, miješajući ‘haute couture‘ (visoku modu) i preveliku bižuteriju.

Što se tiče uređenja interijera, radila je u Bijeloj kući za čak devet američkih predsjednika, od Harryja Trumana, Eisenhowera, Kennedyja, Johnsona, Nixona, Cartera, Reagana do Billa Clintona.

Iris Apfel rođena je 29. kolovoza 1921. u Queensu, New Yorku, u židovskoj obitelji. Bila je jedino dijete Samuela Barrela, čija je obitelj imala tvornicu stakla i ogledala, i Sadye "Syd" Barrel, rođene Asofsky, koja je vodila modni butik.

Imala je čak 97 godina kada je potpisala ugovor za modela s globalnom agencijom IMG Models koja zastupa slavne manekenke poput Karlie Kloss i Gisele Bundchen.

Apfel je umrla u svom domu u Palm Beachu, objavljeno je na njezinom Instagram profilu koji ima tri milijuna pratitelja, uz fotografiju Iris s poznatim golemim naočalama s crnim obrubom i koraljno crvenim ružem.

Bila je vjerna nekonvencionalnim, upadljivim odjevnim kombinacijama, miješajući ‘haute couture‘ (visoku modu) i preveliku bižuteriju.

Što se tiče uređenja interijera, radila je u Bijeloj kući za čak devet američkih predsjednika, od Harryja Trumana, Eisenhowera, Kennedyja, Johnsona, Nixona, Cartera, Reagana do Billa Clintona.

Iris Apfel rođena je 29. kolovoza 1921. u Queensu, New Yorku, u židovskoj obitelji. Bila je jedino dijete Samuela Barrela, čija je obitelj imala tvornicu stakla i ogledala, i Sadye "Syd" Barrel, rođene Asofsky, koja je vodila modni butik.

Američka poduzetnica Iris Apfel, proslavljena u svijetu mode, tekstilne industrije i dizajna i poznata po svom živahnom karakteru, umrla je u 102. godini, prenijeli su u subotu mediji.
