Prema istraživanju koje prenosi britanski list Guardian mentalno stanje pacijenata staračkog doma koji su redovito sudjelovali u pjevačkim satima poboljšalo se bitnije u odnosu na osobe koje su samo slušale njihovo pjevanje.

Najupečatljivije rezultate na mentalnim testovima pokazale su osobe s umjerenom do teškom demencijom i ostvarivale su bolje rezultate na kognitivnim testovima i testovima crtanja kao i na upitnicima o zadovoljstvu životom na kraju istraživanja.

Neuroznanstvenica Jane Flinn s George Mason University u Virginiji kazala je kako bi domovi koji ne održavaju sate pjevanja trebali o tomu razmisliti jer su jeftini, zabavni i korisni za osobe koje pate od demencije.

"Čak i osobama s uznapredovalom demencijom, toliko uznapredovalom da ih se smješta u sigurne odjele, pjevanje još uvijek pomaže. Poruka je: ne dižite ruke od tih ljudi. Morate se baviti aktivnostima koje ih uključuju, a pjevanje je jeftino, lagano i zaokuplja", kaže ona.

U sklopu istraživanja tijekom četiri mjeseca dio ispitanika je tri puta tjedno po 50 minuta pjevao dok je druga polovica ispitanika samo slušala.

Rezultati istraživanja predstavljeni su na neuroznanstvenom simpoziju u San Diegu.

Prema istraživanju koje prenosi britanski list Guardian mentalno stanje pacijenata staračkog doma koji su redovito sudjelovali u pjevačkim satima poboljšalo se bitnije u odnosu na osobe koje su samo slušale njihovo pjevanje.

Najupečatljivije rezultate na mentalnim testovima pokazale su osobe s umjerenom do teškom demencijom i ostvarivale su bolje rezultate na kognitivnim testovima i testovima crtanja kao i na upitnicima o zadovoljstvu životom na kraju istraživanja.

Neuroznanstvenica Jane Flinn s George Mason University u Virginiji kazala je kako bi domovi koji ne održavaju sate pjevanja trebali o tomu razmisliti jer su jeftini, zabavni i korisni za osobe koje pate od demencije.

"Čak i osobama s uznapredovalom demencijom, toliko uznapredovalom da ih se smješta u sigurne odjele, pjevanje još uvijek pomaže. Poruka je: ne dižite ruke od tih ljudi. Morate se baviti aktivnostima koje ih uključuju, a pjevanje je jeftino, lagano i zaokuplja", kaže ona.

U sklopu istraživanja tijekom četiri mjeseca dio ispitanika je tri puta tjedno po 50 minuta pjevao dok je druga polovica ispitanika samo slušala.

Rezultati istraživanja predstavljeni su na neuroznanstvenom simpoziju u San Diegu.
