Za potrebe istraživanja koje je provelo sveučilište Iowa ispitanicima s Alzheimerovom bolesti i zdravim osobama pokazani su 20-minutni filmovi koji su bili ili tužni ili veseli. Pet minuta nakon prikazivanja svakog filma ispitanici su pozvani da prepričaju čega se sjećaju iz filmova.

Osobe koje su patile od Alzheimerove demencije sjetile su se puno manje iz sadržaja filma od zdravih ispitanika, a neki se nisu sjetili ni da su gledali film.

No, osjećaji tuge ili veselja koje su pobudili filmovi potrajali su i pola sata nakon što su gledali filmove.

Znanstvenici su uočili da je osjećaj tuge trajao to dulje što su se ispitanici s Alzheimerom teže mogli prisjetiti sadržaja filma.

Znanstvenici ističu da rezultati istraživanja poručuju obiteljima osoba koje pate od demencije da će pozitivni osjećaji kod oboljelih trajati iako se možda neće sjetiti da ih je netko od članova obitelji posjetio.

Osobe koje su patile od Alzheimerove demencije sjetile su se puno manje iz sadržaja filma od zdravih ispitanika, a neki se nisu sjetili ni da su gledali film.

No, osjećaji tuge ili veselja koje su pobudili filmovi potrajali su i pola sata nakon što su gledali filmove.

Znanstvenici su uočili da je osjećaj tuge trajao to dulje što su se ispitanici s Alzheimerom teže mogli prisjetiti sadržaja filma.

Znanstvenici ističu da rezultati istraživanja poručuju obiteljima osoba koje pate od demencije da će pozitivni osjećaji kod oboljelih trajati iako se možda neće sjetiti da ih je netko od članova obitelji posjetio.
