Potpuno novi Fordov SUV Kuga najelektrificiraniji je model u povijesti ovog proizvođača automobila, prvo vozilo koje se uz motore s unutarnjim sagorijevanjem nudi kao blagi hibrid, hibrid i plug-in hibrid, te inteligentan novi 8-stupanjski automatski mjenjač. Napredni pogonski agregati podržani su i poboljšanom aerodinamikom i mjerama za smanjenje mase vozila.
Nova generacija Kuge prvi je SUV koji se temelji na novoj Fordovoj globalnoj fleksibilnoj arhitekturi pogona na prednje kotače koja donosi bolju aerodinamiku za bolju potrošnju goriva i smanjenje mase. U usporedbi sa sličnim dosadašnjim modelima, masa je manja do 80 kilograma.
Bez obzira na veće dimenzije nove Kuge, u usporedbi s odlazećim modelom aerodinamika je poboljšana. Optimizirana zaštita podvozja, brtve na vratima i krovni nosači koji se lagano sklapaju, doprinijeli su smanjenju otpora zraka od gotovo četiri posto.
Uspoređujući pojedinačne nove pogonske sklopove Kuge s njihovim usporedivim dosadašnjim motorizacijama, potrošnja goriva je smanjena do 28 posto (NEDC sustav). Kod novog SUV-a s Plug-in hibridom s nultom emisijom, s mogućnošću vožnje u potpuno električnom modu, prosječna potrošnja goriva je smanjena za 31 posto.
Kuga Plug-in hibrid i Kuga EcoBlue Hybrid (48-voltni blagi hibrid) prvi put uvode elektrificirane pogonske sklopove u model Kuga. Hibridna Kuga sa samopunjenjem baterije na tržište će stići uskoro. Kupcima su na raspolaganju i sofisticirani Ford EcoBlue dizelski i EcoBoost benzinski motori.
Kuga Plug-In Hybrid kombinira 2,5-litreni benzinski motor s Atkinsonovim ciklusom, električni motor i generator s litij-ionskom baterijom kapaciteta 14,4 kWh. Baterija se može napuniti pomoću priključka za punjenje na prednjem blatobranu i automatski se puni u vožnji pomoću tehnologije regenerativnog kočenja. Vozači mogu birati kada i na koji način koristiti električnu energiju iz baterije koristeći jedan od modova vožnje - EV Auto, EV Now (sada), EV Later (kasnije) i EV Charge (punjenje).
EcoBlue Hybrid unaprjeđuje Fordov 2,0-litreni EcoBlue dizelski motor od 150 KS s 48-voltnom tehnologijom blagog hibrida. Integrirani starter/generator (BISG) s pogonskim remenom zamjenjuje standardni alternator, omogućavajući oporavak energije tijekom usporavanja vozila i punjenje 48-voltnog litij-ionskog zrakom hlađenog paketa baterija.
BISG također djeluje kao motor, koristeći pohranjenu energiju za električni okretni moment za pomoć dizelskom motoru pri normalnoj vožnji i ubrzanju, kao i za pokretanje električnih pomoćnih trošila u automobilu.
Kuga EcoBoost dostupan je u rasponu od 120 do 150 KS. Fordov 1,5-litreni EcoBoost benzinski motor opremljen je sustavom deaktivacije cilindra, prvim takvim sustavom predstavljenim u 3-cilindarskom motoru na tržištu, koji omogućava deaktiviranje jednog cilindra pri laganom opterećenju motora. Kuga EcoBlue 2,0-litreni EcoBlue sa 190 KS i 1,5-litreni EcoBlue dizelski motori optimiziraju potrošnju goriva i emisije značajkama koje uključujući visokotlačno ubrizgavanje goriva i integrirani usisni razvodnik.
Kuga Hybrid koristi samopunjivi hibridni pogonski sklop koji omogućuje potpuno čistu električnu vožnju i kombinira 2,5-litreni Atkinsonov benzinski motor, električni motor, generator; litij-ionsku bateriju i u Fordu razvijen automatski mjenjač s raspodjelom snage.

Potpuno novi Fordov SUV Kuga najelektrificiraniji je model u povijesti ovog proizvođača automobila, prvo vozilo koje se uz motore s unutarnjim sagorijevanjem nudi kao blagi hibrid, hibrid i plug-in hibrid, te inteligentan novi 8-stupanjski automatski mjenjač. Napredni pogonski agregati podržani su i poboljšanom aerodinamikom i mjerama za smanjenje mase vozila.
Nova generacija Kuge prvi je SUV koji se temelji na novoj Fordovoj globalnoj fleksibilnoj arhitekturi pogona na prednje kotače koja donosi bolju aerodinamiku za bolju potrošnju goriva i smanjenje mase. U usporedbi sa sličnim dosadašnjim modelima, masa je manja do 80 kilograma.
Bez obzira na veće dimenzije nove Kuge, u usporedbi s odlazećim modelom aerodinamika je poboljšana. Optimizirana zaštita podvozja, brtve na vratima i krovni nosači koji se lagano sklapaju, doprinijeli su smanjenju otpora zraka od gotovo četiri posto.
Uspoređujući pojedinačne nove pogonske sklopove Kuge s njihovim usporedivim dosadašnjim motorizacijama, potrošnja goriva je smanjena do 28 posto (NEDC sustav). Kod novog SUV-a s Plug-in hibridom s nultom emisijom, s mogućnošću vožnje u potpuno električnom modu, prosječna potrošnja goriva je smanjena za 31 posto.
Kuga Plug-in hibrid i Kuga EcoBlue Hybrid (48-voltni blagi hibrid) prvi put uvode elektrificirane pogonske sklopove u model Kuga. Hibridna Kuga sa samopunjenjem baterije na tržište će stići uskoro. Kupcima su na raspolaganju i sofisticirani Ford EcoBlue dizelski i EcoBoost benzinski motori.
Kuga Plug-In Hybrid kombinira 2,5-litreni benzinski motor s Atkinsonovim ciklusom, električni motor i generator s litij-ionskom baterijom kapaciteta 14,4 kWh. Baterija se može napuniti pomoću priključka za punjenje na prednjem blatobranu i automatski se puni u vožnji pomoću tehnologije regenerativnog kočenja. Vozači mogu birati kada i na koji način koristiti električnu energiju iz baterije koristeći jedan od modova vožnje - EV Auto, EV Now (sada), EV Later (kasnije) i EV Charge (punjenje).
EcoBlue Hybrid unaprjeđuje Fordov 2,0-litreni EcoBlue dizelski motor od 150 KS s 48-voltnom tehnologijom blagog hibrida. Integrirani starter/generator (BISG) s pogonskim remenom zamjenjuje standardni alternator, omogućavajući oporavak energije tijekom usporavanja vozila i punjenje 48-voltnog litij-ionskog zrakom hlađenog paketa baterija.
BISG također djeluje kao motor, koristeći pohranjenu energiju za električni okretni moment za pomoć dizelskom motoru pri normalnoj vožnji i ubrzanju, kao i za pokretanje električnih pomoćnih trošila u automobilu.
Kuga EcoBoost dostupan je u rasponu od 120 do 150 KS. Fordov 1,5-litreni EcoBoost benzinski motor opremljen je sustavom deaktivacije cilindra, prvim takvim sustavom predstavljenim u 3-cilindarskom motoru na tržištu, koji omogućava deaktiviranje jednog cilindra pri laganom opterećenju motora. Kuga EcoBlue 2,0-litreni EcoBlue sa 190 KS i 1,5-litreni EcoBlue dizelski motori optimiziraju potrošnju goriva i emisije značajkama koje uključujući visokotlačno ubrizgavanje goriva i integrirani usisni razvodnik.
Kuga Hybrid koristi samopunjivi hibridni pogonski sklop koji omogućuje potpuno čistu električnu vožnju i kombinira 2,5-litreni Atkinsonov benzinski motor, električni motor, generator; litij-ionsku bateriju i u Fordu razvijen automatski mjenjač s raspodjelom snage.
