Početkom sedamdesetih u kultnom Spielbergovu “Dvoboju” biznismen je, vozeći se na poslovni sastanak, doživio teror na cesti nakon što je prestigao zlokobni kamion.

Tridesetak godina kasnije snimljeno je “Kobno prestrojavanje” s Benom Affleckom i Samuelom L. Jacksonom u ulogama likova s drukčijih pozicija u društvu koji nakon manjeg sudara postaju ljuti neprijatelji i zagorčavaju jedan drugome život.

Nedavno smo imali i triler “Bijesan” s Russellom Croweom kao mentalno nestabilnim čovjekom koji je usmjerio svoj bijes prema ženi nakon što mu ona zatrubi i zaobiđe ga kad je zastao na semaforu pred upaljenim zelenim svjetlom.

Koji je tvoj prob...?

Netflixova hit-serija “Zavada” ili “Beef” kreatora Leeja Sung Jina, nastala u koprodukciji s kompanijom A24, slijedi tragove spomenutih filmova sagledavajući posljedice još jednog incidenta u prometu. Incident se događa u prvoj od deset epizoda serije inspirirane događajem koji je Sung Jin doživio i odmah grabi pažnju gledatelja.

Frustriran situacijom u dućanu i “jako uslužnim” zaposlenikom, Danny (Steven Yeun, nominiran za Oscara za glavnu ulogu u filmu “Minari”) sjeda u auto. Nakon kraćeg promišljanja egzistencije, Danny s parkinga “luđački” krene na “rikverc” ne vidjevši drugo vozilo iza sebe i zakoči u zadnji tren.

Vozač(ica) tog automobila, Amy (Ali Wong), legne na trubu. “Koji je tvoj prob...?”, iznervira se Danny i pošizi kad iz drugog automobila izviri ruka s ispruženim srednjim prstom. Ni pet ni šest, Danny dade gasa i pojuri za vozilom, toliko bijesan da projuri i preko nečije tratine kako bi mu presjekao put, no Amy uspijeva pobjeći, ali ne prije nego što on uoči registracijske tablice.

I... zavada može početi. Iako sve isprve kreće od razmjerno sitnih spački, poput Dannyjeva pišanja po Amynu toaletu i Amyna bombardiranja Dannyja negativnim recenzijama, situacija bi mogla lako eskalirati i eksplodirati nasiljem kad se dvoje ljudi iz različitih slojeva društva frontalno “sudare”.

Šljaker i poduzetnica

Danny je korejski imigrant u Los Angelesu, šljaker koji spaja kraj u firmi za građevinske usluge. Amy je “upper-class”, uspješna azijsko-američka poduzetnica, ali s naramkom vlastitih privatnih problema. Svatko od njih ima svoje razloge da ispolji potisnute frustracije i bijes u ovoj zavadi, a oboje su likovi s kakvima se mogu poistovjetiti različiti gledatelji kojima je također puna kapa svega i imati osjećaj kao da gledaju sebe u ogledalu, nalazeći se na korak od toga da izgube kontrolu poput njih.

U tome i leži ključni zalog zašto je “Zavada” postala hit. Ne morate samo čitati crnu kroniku da prepoznate situacije iz serije. Od Amerike do Hrvatske bijes, frustracija, tjeskoba, agresija i stres mogu se opipati u zraku, osobito kad je riječ o situacijama u prometu sa sve nabrijanijim vozačima na raskrižju mračne strane i ekonomskoj nejednakosti sa sve nezadovoljnijim i umornijim ljudima, a naročito posljednjih (post)koronskih godina.

Sve to “Beef” analizira i nastavlja aktualni val filmova o sudaru klasa/različitog društveno-ekonomskog spektra (“Parazit”, “Spremni ili ne”, “Meni”, “Trokut tuge”), a i za glavne aktere, također trendovski, ima pripadnike azijske zajednice u SAD-u (“Minari”, “Sve u isto vrijeme”) u tumačenju dobrih glumaca (Yuen standardno dobar, Wong će biti otkriće široj publici).

Kao svojevrsni “melting pot” svega toga, “Zavada” se gleda sa zanimanjem unatoč određenoj repetitivnosti i ne uvijek ujednačenom skakanju iz žanra u žanr, s crne komedije na triler i dramu, naprijed i natrag, odnosno draženju gledatelja ekstremnim situacijama do kojih neće nužno doći. “Beef” je svakako ponajbolja Netflixova serija od početka godine.

Početkom sedamdesetih u kultnom Spielbergovu “Dvoboju” biznismen je, vozeći se na poslovni sastanak, doživio teror na cesti nakon što je prestigao zlokobni kamion.

Tridesetak godina kasnije snimljeno je “Kobno prestrojavanje” s Benom Affleckom i Samuelom L. Jacksonom u ulogama likova s drukčijih pozicija u društvu koji nakon manjeg sudara postaju ljuti neprijatelji i zagorčavaju jedan drugome život.

Nedavno smo imali i triler “Bijesan” s Russellom Croweom kao mentalno nestabilnim čovjekom koji je usmjerio svoj bijes prema ženi nakon što mu ona zatrubi i zaobiđe ga kad je zastao na semaforu pred upaljenim zelenim svjetlom.

Koji je tvoj prob...?

Netflixova hit-serija “Zavada” ili “Beef” kreatora Leeja Sung Jina, nastala u koprodukciji s kompanijom A24, slijedi tragove spomenutih filmova sagledavajući posljedice još jednog incidenta u prometu. Incident se događa u prvoj od deset epizoda serije inspirirane događajem koji je Sung Jin doživio i odmah grabi pažnju gledatelja.

Frustriran situacijom u dućanu i “jako uslužnim” zaposlenikom, Danny (Steven Yeun, nominiran za Oscara za glavnu ulogu u filmu “Minari”) sjeda u auto. Nakon kraćeg promišljanja egzistencije, Danny s parkinga “luđački” krene na “rikverc” ne vidjevši drugo vozilo iza sebe i zakoči u zadnji tren.

Vozač(ica) tog automobila, Amy (Ali Wong), legne na trubu. “Koji je tvoj prob...?”, iznervira se Danny i pošizi kad iz drugog automobila izviri ruka s ispruženim srednjim prstom. Ni pet ni šest, Danny dade gasa i pojuri za vozilom, toliko bijesan da projuri i preko nečije tratine kako bi mu presjekao put, no Amy uspijeva pobjeći, ali ne prije nego što on uoči registracijske tablice.

I... zavada može početi. Iako sve isprve kreće od razmjerno sitnih spački, poput Dannyjeva pišanja po Amynu toaletu i Amyna bombardiranja Dannyja negativnim recenzijama, situacija bi mogla lako eskalirati i eksplodirati nasiljem kad se dvoje ljudi iz različitih slojeva društva frontalno “sudare”.

Šljaker i poduzetnica

Danny je korejski imigrant u Los Angelesu, šljaker koji spaja kraj u firmi za građevinske usluge. Amy je “upper-class”, uspješna azijsko-američka poduzetnica, ali s naramkom vlastitih privatnih problema. Svatko od njih ima svoje razloge da ispolji potisnute frustracije i bijes u ovoj zavadi, a oboje su likovi s kakvima se mogu poistovjetiti različiti gledatelji kojima je također puna kapa svega i imati osjećaj kao da gledaju sebe u ogledalu, nalazeći se na korak od toga da izgube kontrolu poput njih.

U tome i leži ključni zalog zašto je “Zavada” postala hit. Ne morate samo čitati crnu kroniku da prepoznate situacije iz serije. Od Amerike do Hrvatske bijes, frustracija, tjeskoba, agresija i stres mogu se opipati u zraku, osobito kad je riječ o situacijama u prometu sa sve nabrijanijim vozačima na raskrižju mračne strane i ekonomskoj nejednakosti sa sve nezadovoljnijim i umornijim ljudima, a naročito posljednjih (post)koronskih godina.

Sve to “Beef” analizira i nastavlja aktualni val filmova o sudaru klasa/različitog društveno-ekonomskog spektra (“Parazit”, “Spremni ili ne”, “Meni”, “Trokut tuge”), a i za glavne aktere, također trendovski, ima pripadnike azijske zajednice u SAD-u (“Minari”, “Sve u isto vrijeme”) u tumačenju dobrih glumaca (Yuen standardno dobar, Wong će biti otkriće široj publici).

Kao svojevrsni “melting pot” svega toga, “Zavada” se gleda sa zanimanjem unatoč određenoj repetitivnosti i ne uvijek ujednačenom skakanju iz žanra u žanr, s crne komedije na triler i dramu, naprijed i natrag, odnosno draženju gledatelja ekstremnim situacijama do kojih neće nužno doći. “Beef” je svakako ponajbolja Netflixova serija od početka godine.
