Prikazivanje adaptacije klasičnoga filmskog mjuzikla u režiji Stevena Spielberga "Priča sa zapadne strane" navodno je zabranjeno u Saudijskoj Arabiji, Kuvajtu, Bahreinu, Omanu, Kataru i Ujedinjenim Arapskim Emiratima, a Hollywood Reporter se poziva na regionalne izvore koji tvrde da su tamošnji cenzori odluku donijeli zbog transrodnog lika koji se u njemu pojavljuje.

Premda je informacija nepotvrđena, visokobudžetni mjuzikl, kojemu predviđaju nekoliko Oscara, navodno je zabranjen zbog transrodnog lika Anybodys, kojega glumi Iris Menas, nebinarna glumica poznata po ulozi u rock mjuziklu Jagged Little Pill, prenosi Guardian.

Po pisanju Hollywood Reportera film nije dobio potvrdu za prikazivanje u Saudijskoj Arabiji i Kuvajtu, a Disney je odbio izrezati dijelove filma čije su uklanjanje zatražili cenzori iz Ujedinjenih Arapskih Emirata, Katara, Bahreina i Omana, piše Forbes.

S obzirom na to da je homoseksualnost službeno ilegalna u Saudijskoj Arabiji, Kataru, Omanu i Kuvajtu, a u ostalim je nemoralna, filmovi koji sadrže bilo kakve aluzije na LGBTQ zajednicu često padaju pod kritiku cenzora.

Anybodys, čiji je rodni identitet u originalu nejasan, u novoj je verziji postao očitije transrodna osoba. Tvorci filma su odlučno pojasnili da je "Anybodys lik koji je bio muškarac rođen u ženskom tijelu. Kraj priče."

Vijest je objavljena nedugo nakon što je Marvelov hit "Eternals" prošli mjesec nakratko izbačen s repertoara kina u široj regiji Zaljeva zbog prvoga gay superjunaka, Phastosa, kojega glumi Brian Tyree Henry, a osobito zbog scene u kojoj se na filmskom ekranu poljubio sa svojim suprugom Benom (Haaz Sleiman).

No studio je ipak pristao na izmjene, izbacivši sve scene intimnosti među istospolnim likovima, pa se film ipak objavljuje u nekim zaljevskim državama.

Prikazivanje adaptacije klasičnoga filmskog mjuzikla u režiji Stevena Spielberga "Priča sa zapadne strane" navodno je zabranjeno u Saudijskoj Arabiji, Kuvajtu, Bahreinu, Omanu, Kataru i Ujedinjenim Arapskim Emiratima, a Hollywood Reporter se poziva na regionalne izvore koji tvrde da su tamošnji cenzori odluku donijeli zbog transrodnog lika koji se u njemu pojavljuje.

Premda je informacija nepotvrđena, visokobudžetni mjuzikl, kojemu predviđaju nekoliko Oscara, navodno je zabranjen zbog transrodnog lika Anybodys, kojega glumi Iris Menas, nebinarna glumica poznata po ulozi u rock mjuziklu Jagged Little Pill, prenosi Guardian.

Po pisanju Hollywood Reportera film nije dobio potvrdu za prikazivanje u Saudijskoj Arabiji i Kuvajtu, a Disney je odbio izrezati dijelove filma čije su uklanjanje zatražili cenzori iz Ujedinjenih Arapskih Emirata, Katara, Bahreina i Omana, piše Forbes.

S obzirom na to da je homoseksualnost službeno ilegalna u Saudijskoj Arabiji, Kataru, Omanu i Kuvajtu, a u ostalim je nemoralna, filmovi koji sadrže bilo kakve aluzije na LGBTQ zajednicu često padaju pod kritiku cenzora.

Anybodys, čiji je rodni identitet u originalu nejasan, u novoj je verziji postao očitije transrodna osoba. Tvorci filma su odlučno pojasnili da je "Anybodys lik koji je bio muškarac rođen u ženskom tijelu. Kraj priče."

Vijest je objavljena nedugo nakon što je Marvelov hit "Eternals" prošli mjesec nakratko izbačen s repertoara kina u široj regiji Zaljeva zbog prvoga gay superjunaka, Phastosa, kojega glumi Brian Tyree Henry, a osobito zbog scene u kojoj se na filmskom ekranu poljubio sa svojim suprugom Benom (Haaz Sleiman).

No studio je ipak pristao na izmjene, izbacivši sve scene intimnosti među istospolnim likovima, pa se film ipak objavljuje u nekim zaljevskim državama.
