Dark web i njegovo bespuće iznjedrili su i zloglasnu internetsku stranicu Silk Road za kupnju droge, po kojoj je nazvan solidan i interesantan film koji priča priču o Rossu Ulbrichtu. Priča je prilično nevjerojatna: Ulbricht je kreirao Silk Road 2011., u dobi od svega 27 godina, i zarađivao milijune do uhićenja i izricanja doživotne zatvorske kazne bez mogućnosti pomilovanja.

Razloge pokretanja stranice Ulbricht (korektni Nick Robinson) otkriva u uvodnim minutama. On je htio stvoriti stranicu gdje ljudi mogu kupiti sve anonimno (osim plutonija, umorstava) i za njega je to bilo kao vraćanje slobode, a ne ruganje autoritetu, premda je ispalo negdje između s obzirom na kasniju izjavu: "Sve što radimo izvan kontrole vlasti jača tržište i slabi državu".

Sve to Ulbricht pripovijeda dok ga federalni agenti vrebaju u knjižnici. Sekundu pred prepad FBI-a, njegov telefon zazvoni. "Halo", javi se Ulbricht na nepoznati poziv, slijedi "rez" i radnja se vraća tri godine ranije, a sudeći po napetom uvodu redatelj i scenarist Tiller Russell tipuje ispričati priču u formi trilera.

Ulbrichta upoznajemo kao pametnog mladića kadra složiti "Rubikovu kocku" za nekoliko sekundi i osvojiti zgodne djevojke poput Julije (Alexandra Shipp) svojom inteligencijom i idealističkim libertarijanističkim pogledom na svijet i Ameriku koja je "izgubila moralni kompas".

Za Ulbrichta je internet "instrument slobode" i uvjeren je da ljudi još uvijek žele anonimnost u svijetu gdje svatko o svakome želi znati sve, a smatrao je da će netko, tko želi, ionako kupiti drogu, pri čemu je njegova opcija sigurnija, manje riskantna (na netu umjesto na ulici preko dilera).

Odatle Silk Road kao "Amazon za drogu" i "eBay za narkiće", s mogućnošću kupovanja narkotika na crnom internetskom tržištu putem anonimnih transakcija, odnosno Bitcoin kriptovaluta. Uspon Silk Roada dogodio se u jeku "rata protiv droga" i zatekao američke vlasti nespremne. Bilo je to u vrijeme kad kibernetički kriminal nije bio toliko razvijen i policijski "cyber" odjeli tek su se zahuktavali s radom.

U priču je u to ime uveden Rick Bowden (odlična uloga Jasona Clarkea), fiktivni DEA-ovac koji je sublimacija dvojice agenata povezanih s istragom i osuđenih zbog prekoračivanja ovlasti za osobnu korist. Bowden je pušten s odvikavanja kamo je završio pretjerano se uživjevši u posao "undercover" policajca za droge i upropastivši operaciju.

Stoga, dobiva premještaj u odjel za kiber kriminal do mirovine, makar nije tehnološki potkovan i internetski verziran za to, ali odlučan je da riješi slučaj uličnom pameću i zatvori Ulbrichtov "supermarket za droge". Dobar policajac će postati loš i očajnički posegnuti za ilegalnim novcem bez znanja supruge (Katie Aselton) kad se njegovoj kćerkici zaniječe stipendija za školu za poteškoće u učenju.

Opsesivan kakav jest duboko će zaglibiti u slučaju Silk Road i otuđiti se od bližnjih, jednako kao Ulbricht od Julije s druge strane nišana. Opsesija povezuje dvojicu muškaraca koji inače ne mogu biti drukčiji nego što jesu – stari Bowden je policijski dinosaur, mladi Ulbricht "prvi milenijski gangster".

Na njihovoj karakternoj povezanosti i razlikama redatelj gradi film o likovima dvojbena morala, ne pretežući vagu na nečiju stranu u smislu da se jasno izjasni tko je pravi negativac u ovoj priči, već to samo natuknjuje i radije ostavlja gledatelju da odluči. Russell je u tom procesu uspio snimiti "Silk Road" kao svojevrsnu anti-"Društvenu mrežu" i tipkanje na tastaturi laptopa pretvoriti u filmski "cyber" triler za umreženu generaciju. "Ovo nije film", kaže Julia baš u trenutku kad triler prijeti progutati istinitu priču.

No, "Silk Road" nastoji biti vjeran biti istraživačkonovinarskog članka "Dead End on Silk Road: Internet Crime Kingpin Ross Ulbricht's Big Fall" Davida Kushnera o Ulbrichtovu usponu i padu, ali uzima pjesničko-filmsku slobodu u dramatizaciji njegove priče da je načini trilerski filmičnijom i tenzičnijom, na webu i zemlji. Film se u konačnici potvrđuje kao "produkt novinarskog istraživanja i divljih naleta mašte", kako je i najavljen natpisom drukčijim od standardnog "prema istinitoj priči".

Dark web i njegovo bespuće iznjedrili su i zloglasnu internetsku stranicu Silk Road za kupnju droge, po kojoj je nazvan solidan i interesantan film koji priča priču o Rossu Ulbrichtu. Priča je prilično nevjerojatna: Ulbricht je kreirao Silk Road 2011., u dobi od svega 27 godina, i zarađivao milijune do uhićenja i izricanja doživotne zatvorske kazne bez mogućnosti pomilovanja.

Razloge pokretanja stranice Ulbricht (korektni Nick Robinson) otkriva u uvodnim minutama. On je htio stvoriti stranicu gdje ljudi mogu kupiti sve anonimno (osim plutonija, umorstava) i za njega je to bilo kao vraćanje slobode, a ne ruganje autoritetu, premda je ispalo negdje između s obzirom na kasniju izjavu: "Sve što radimo izvan kontrole vlasti jača tržište i slabi državu".

Sve to Ulbricht pripovijeda dok ga federalni agenti vrebaju u knjižnici. Sekundu pred prepad FBI-a, njegov telefon zazvoni. "Halo", javi se Ulbricht na nepoznati poziv, slijedi "rez" i radnja se vraća tri godine ranije, a sudeći po napetom uvodu redatelj i scenarist Tiller Russell tipuje ispričati priču u formi trilera.

Ulbrichta upoznajemo kao pametnog mladića kadra složiti "Rubikovu kocku" za nekoliko sekundi i osvojiti zgodne djevojke poput Julije (Alexandra Shipp) svojom inteligencijom i idealističkim libertarijanističkim pogledom na svijet i Ameriku koja je "izgubila moralni kompas".

Za Ulbrichta je internet "instrument slobode" i uvjeren je da ljudi još uvijek žele anonimnost u svijetu gdje svatko o svakome želi znati sve, a smatrao je da će netko, tko želi, ionako kupiti drogu, pri čemu je njegova opcija sigurnija, manje riskantna (na netu umjesto na ulici preko dilera).

Odatle Silk Road kao "Amazon za drogu" i "eBay za narkiće", s mogućnošću kupovanja narkotika na crnom internetskom tržištu putem anonimnih transakcija, odnosno Bitcoin kriptovaluta. Uspon Silk Roada dogodio se u jeku "rata protiv droga" i zatekao američke vlasti nespremne. Bilo je to u vrijeme kad kibernetički kriminal nije bio toliko razvijen i policijski "cyber" odjeli tek su se zahuktavali s radom.

U priču je u to ime uveden Rick Bowden (odlična uloga Jasona Clarkea), fiktivni DEA-ovac koji je sublimacija dvojice agenata povezanih s istragom i osuđenih zbog prekoračivanja ovlasti za osobnu korist. Bowden je pušten s odvikavanja kamo je završio pretjerano se uživjevši u posao "undercover" policajca za droge i upropastivši operaciju.

Stoga, dobiva premještaj u odjel za kiber kriminal do mirovine, makar nije tehnološki potkovan i internetski verziran za to, ali odlučan je da riješi slučaj uličnom pameću i zatvori Ulbrichtov "supermarket za droge". Dobar policajac će postati loš i očajnički posegnuti za ilegalnim novcem bez znanja supruge (Katie Aselton) kad se njegovoj kćerkici zaniječe stipendija za školu za poteškoće u učenju.

Opsesivan kakav jest duboko će zaglibiti u slučaju Silk Road i otuđiti se od bližnjih, jednako kao Ulbricht od Julije s druge strane nišana. Opsesija povezuje dvojicu muškaraca koji inače ne mogu biti drukčiji nego što jesu – stari Bowden je policijski dinosaur, mladi Ulbricht "prvi milenijski gangster".

Na njihovoj karakternoj povezanosti i razlikama redatelj gradi film o likovima dvojbena morala, ne pretežući vagu na nečiju stranu u smislu da se jasno izjasni tko je pravi negativac u ovoj priči, već to samo natuknjuje i radije ostavlja gledatelju da odluči. Russell je u tom procesu uspio snimiti "Silk Road" kao svojevrsnu anti-"Društvenu mrežu" i tipkanje na tastaturi laptopa pretvoriti u filmski "cyber" triler za umreženu generaciju. "Ovo nije film", kaže Julia baš u trenutku kad triler prijeti progutati istinitu priču.

No, "Silk Road" nastoji biti vjeran biti istraživačkonovinarskog članka "Dead End on Silk Road: Internet Crime Kingpin Ross Ulbricht's Big Fall" Davida Kushnera o Ulbrichtovu usponu i padu, ali uzima pjesničko-filmsku slobodu u dramatizaciji njegove priče da je načini trilerski filmičnijom i tenzičnijom, na webu i zemlji. Film se u konačnici potvrđuje kao "produkt novinarskog istraživanja i divljih naleta mašte", kako je i najavljen natpisom drukčijim od standardnog "prema istinitoj priči".

Alexadra Shipp i Nick Robinson su već glumili zajedno u jako dobroj romantičnoj tinejdžerskoj komediji/drami "S ljubavlju, Simon".
