"Oni izgledaju poput nas i govore poput nas, ali nisu ljudi." – "Majka/Android" (2021.)

Facebook je najavio izradu novog AI super-računala, javljaju vijesti ovih dana. Nadajmo se da Fejs zna što radi i da nas ne čeka terminatorska apokalipsa kakvu oslikava novi film na Netflixu, SF triler "Majka/Android" ("Mother/Android"). "Majka/Android" kreće obećavajuće. Mlada Georgia (Chloë Grace Moretz) otkriva da je trudna i vijest dijeli s dečkom Samom (Algee Smith; "Euphoria", "The Hate U Give").

Božićno je doba i sve se čini više-manje idilično u njihovu domu, iako vijesti na televiziji naslućuju što slijedi kad spomenu stvaranje AI "cutting edge" tehnologije i ugledamo androide nalik onima iz filma "Ja, robot" (zgodno s obzirom da tumač Sama nalikuje prezimenjaku Willu Smithu u mlađim danima), a obiteljski robotski batler, izvana ljudski poput replikanata i terminatora, poželi nekome "sretnu Noć vještica" umjesto "sretan Božić".

Uvučeni smo, dakle, u svijet u kojem roboti žive među ljudima u stilu "Umjetne inteligencije". Najednom se dogode nekakve smetnje, kao da je aktiviran masovni elektro-magnetski puls.

I paf, robotski batler se kvari, budi Terminatora u sebi i okomi se na ukućane. Georgia i Sam bježe, a s njima u blisku budućnost, devet mjeseci kasnije, bježi i film.

U međuvremenu je zavladala robotska apokalipsa kad su se pobunili androidi stvoreni da služe ljudima. Pobuna se naziva "blitz" i dovela je do pada New Yorka. Ljudi žive po šumama gdje i zatječemo do-zuba-trudnu Georgiju i Sama koji tragaju za sigurnom kolonijom kako bi pronašli utočište od robota.

Nakon što ih ljudi u koloniji prime pa potjeraju, Georgia i Sam proživljavaju postapokaliptično "Mjesto tišine" s robotima namjesto izvanzemaljskih monstruma. Paralelu sa superiornijim SF hororom "A Quiet Place" povlači i motiv trudne heroine, ali nažalost "Mother/Android" nije ni blizu tako tenzičan film, unatoč tome što ima potentnu glumicu koja je postapokalipsu već iskusila u "Petom valu".

Moretz se iskalila i u akcijskim ulogama kao u "Kick-Assu" i njegovom nastavku ili u "Sjeni straha", a bila je uvjerljiva i u hororima poput remakea "Carrie" i "Suspirije". Međutim, film ne da glumici priliku da istinski zabljesne, pa ni samome sebi. Potencijala je bilo u scenariju koji potpisuje potentni redateljski debitant Mattison Tomlin, inače scenarist Netflixova hitića "Project Power" i nadolazećeg "Batmana" čiji je redatelj Matt Reeves producent ovog filma.

Ipak, ispunjenje potencijala mahom se svodi na ponavljanje slika ili rečenica iz sličnih SF-ova, od "more than human" gesla iz "Istrebljivača" do raspredanja na temu kako su ljudi programirani za emotivnu konekciju, za razliku od androida.

Pokušaj novina tiče se Georgijina susreta sa kompjuterskim inženjerom Arthurom (Raul Castillo; "El Chicano", "Noćni zubi") i njegova izuma u vidu oklopa, navodno nevidljivog robotskom oku, kao što je našem Predator kad uključi "cloak" sistem, a u scenama kad androidi hvataju Georgiju oni izgledaju poput zombija, što film načas pretvara u horor s robotima umjesto živih mrtvaca.

Prevladavajući osjećaj žanrovske tipologije i predvidljivosti izvlače povremeni uplivi razmjerno emotivne melodrame i – oprez: potencijalni "spoiler" – dvosmislen, moguće ironičan završetak. Georgia će počiniti sličnu grešku kao android s početka filma kad kaže da idu uhvatiti zrakoplov i ispravi "avion" u "brod". Znači li to da je Georgia android? Ako jest, djeca budućeg čovječanstva dobili su neljudsku majku.

Moretz kao pljačkašica banaka

Chloë Grace Moretz smo posljednje gledali u igrano-animiranom "Tomu i Jerryju", a upravo snima film "Love Is a Gun", mladenačku verziju klasika "Bonnie i Clyde", u kojem će igrati pljačkašicu banaka.

"Oni izgledaju poput nas i govore poput nas, ali nisu ljudi." – "Majka/Android" (2021.)

Facebook je najavio izradu novog AI super-računala, javljaju vijesti ovih dana. Nadajmo se da Fejs zna što radi i da nas ne čeka terminatorska apokalipsa kakvu oslikava novi film na Netflixu, SF triler "Majka/Android" ("Mother/Android"). "Majka/Android" kreće obećavajuće. Mlada Georgia (Chloë Grace Moretz) otkriva da je trudna i vijest dijeli s dečkom Samom (Algee Smith; "Euphoria", "The Hate U Give").

Božićno je doba i sve se čini više-manje idilično u njihovu domu, iako vijesti na televiziji naslućuju što slijedi kad spomenu stvaranje AI "cutting edge" tehnologije i ugledamo androide nalik onima iz filma "Ja, robot" (zgodno s obzirom da tumač Sama nalikuje prezimenjaku Willu Smithu u mlađim danima), a obiteljski robotski batler, izvana ljudski poput replikanata i terminatora, poželi nekome "sretnu Noć vještica" umjesto "sretan Božić".

Uvučeni smo, dakle, u svijet u kojem roboti žive među ljudima u stilu "Umjetne inteligencije". Najednom se dogode nekakve smetnje, kao da je aktiviran masovni elektro-magnetski puls.

I paf, robotski batler se kvari, budi Terminatora u sebi i okomi se na ukućane. Georgia i Sam bježe, a s njima u blisku budućnost, devet mjeseci kasnije, bježi i film.

U međuvremenu je zavladala robotska apokalipsa kad su se pobunili androidi stvoreni da služe ljudima. Pobuna se naziva "blitz" i dovela je do pada New Yorka. Ljudi žive po šumama gdje i zatječemo do-zuba-trudnu Georgiju i Sama koji tragaju za sigurnom kolonijom kako bi pronašli utočište od robota.

Nakon što ih ljudi u koloniji prime pa potjeraju, Georgia i Sam proživljavaju postapokaliptično "Mjesto tišine" s robotima namjesto izvanzemaljskih monstruma. Paralelu sa superiornijim SF hororom "A Quiet Place" povlači i motiv trudne heroine, ali nažalost "Mother/Android" nije ni blizu tako tenzičan film, unatoč tome što ima potentnu glumicu koja je postapokalipsu već iskusila u "Petom valu".

Moretz se iskalila i u akcijskim ulogama kao u "Kick-Assu" i njegovom nastavku ili u "Sjeni straha", a bila je uvjerljiva i u hororima poput remakea "Carrie" i "Suspirije". Međutim, film ne da glumici priliku da istinski zabljesne, pa ni samome sebi. Potencijala je bilo u scenariju koji potpisuje potentni redateljski debitant Mattison Tomlin, inače scenarist Netflixova hitića "Project Power" i nadolazećeg "Batmana" čiji je redatelj Matt Reeves producent ovog filma.

Ipak, ispunjenje potencijala mahom se svodi na ponavljanje slika ili rečenica iz sličnih SF-ova, od "more than human" gesla iz "Istrebljivača" do raspredanja na temu kako su ljudi programirani za emotivnu konekciju, za razliku od androida.

Pokušaj novina tiče se Georgijina susreta sa kompjuterskim inženjerom Arthurom (Raul Castillo; "El Chicano", "Noćni zubi") i njegova izuma u vidu oklopa, navodno nevidljivog robotskom oku, kao što je našem Predator kad uključi "cloak" sistem, a u scenama kad androidi hvataju Georgiju oni izgledaju poput zombija, što film načas pretvara u horor s robotima umjesto živih mrtvaca.

Prevladavajući osjećaj žanrovske tipologije i predvidljivosti izvlače povremeni uplivi razmjerno emotivne melodrame i – oprez: potencijalni "spoiler" – dvosmislen, moguće ironičan završetak. Georgia će počiniti sličnu grešku kao android s početka filma kad kaže da idu uhvatiti zrakoplov i ispravi "avion" u "brod". Znači li to da je Georgia android? Ako jest, djeca budućeg čovječanstva dobili su neljudsku majku.

Moretz kao pljačkašica banaka

Chloë Grace Moretz smo posljednje gledali u igrano-animiranom "Tomu i Jerryju", a upravo snima film "Love Is a Gun", mladenačku verziju klasika "Bonnie i Clyde", u kojem će igrati pljačkašicu banaka.
