Sine, ovdje ti je ćaća ranjen.

Riječi su to što ih je na Velom vrhu, dominantnoj koti na Svilaji, jučer kazao hrvatski branitelj Vinko Skorup iz Kaštela pokazujući sinu Ivanu gdje je 8. lipnja 1993. godine u teškom ranjavanju od srpskog snajperista ostao bez donje čeljusti i jedva preživio. Skorup je toga 8. lipnja bio jedan od 16 junaka Velog vrha, svi iz porijeklom vrličkog kraja.

U najvećoj pješačkoj bitci na sinjskoj bojišnici, ne računajući Dinaru, Veli vrh su uz žestoku topničku pripremu napale agresorske snage. Odmah po prestanku topničke vatre uslijedio je neprijateljski pješački napad. Od 16 branitelja smrtno je od prvog metka srpskog snajperiste stradao Petar Varnica, bilo je 11 ranjenika od kojih dio teških, ali Veli vrh je obranjen.

Štoviše, kada je iscrpljenim braniteljima stigla pomoć suboraca iz sinjske 126. brigade agresori su spas pronašli u bijegu, ostavljajući dvojicu mrtvih. U organizaciji Hvidre i pod pokroviteljstvom Grada Vrlike i Županije jučer su evocirana sjećanja na obranu tog dijela Svilaje.

Pritom je odana počast poginulom Varnici, ali i svim drugim poginulim hrvatskim braniteljima Domovinskog rata. Na tom istom mjestu, nekoliko dana prije bitke na Velom vrhu, poginuli su Zdravko Uvodić i Dubravko Grubišić, pripadnici Samostalnog voda "Slobodne Dalmacije" pri 114. brigadi HV-a, a poslije bitke na tom su području smrtno su stradali Ivica Šuća i Anđelko Zrnčić iz 126. brigade.

Vijence su na spomen-obilježje, merđu ostalima, položili Božo Giljan, predsjednik vrličke Hvidre, Jure Plazonić, vrlički gradnačelnik, dožupan Luka Brčić, te Nediljko Živaljić iz tvrtke "Županijske ceste Split" u ime radnih kolega pokojnog Varnice. Uz prigodne riječi kojima su evocirana sjećanja na taj slavni događaj rečeno je da će Veli vrh ostati trajno mjesto pohoda na kojemu će se održavati počast Petru Varnici, ali i svim drugim poginulim hrvatskim braniteljima. Sine, ovdje ti je ćaća ranjen.

Riječi su to što ih je na Velom vrhu, dominantnoj koti na Svilaji, jučer kazao hrvatski branitelj Vinko Skorup iz Kaštela pokazujući sinu Ivanu gdje je 8. lipnja 1993. godine u teškom ranjavanju od srpskog snajperista ostao bez donje čeljusti i jedva preživio. Skorup je toga 8. lipnja bio jedan od 16 junaka Velog vrha, svi iz porijeklom vrličkog kraja.

U najvećoj pješačkoj bitci na sinjskoj bojišnici, ne računajući Dinaru, Veli vrh su uz žestoku topničku pripremu napale agresorske snage. Odmah po prestanku topničke vatre uslijedio je neprijateljski pješački napad. Od 16 branitelja smrtno je od prvog metka srpskog snajperiste stradao Petar Varnica, bilo je 11 ranjenika od kojih dio teških, ali Veli vrh je obranjen.

Štoviše, kada je iscrpljenim braniteljima stigla pomoć suboraca iz sinjske 126. brigade agresori su spas pronašli u bijegu, ostavljajući dvojicu mrtvih. U organizaciji Hvidre i pod pokroviteljstvom Grada Vrlike i Županije jučer su evocirana sjećanja na obranu tog dijela Svilaje.

Pritom je odana počast poginulom Varnici, ali i svim drugim poginulim hrvatskim braniteljima Domovinskog rata. Na tom istom mjestu, nekoliko dana prije bitke na Velom vrhu, poginuli su Zdravko Uvodić i Dubravko Grubišić, pripadnici Samostalnog voda "Slobodne Dalmacije" pri 114. brigadi HV-a, a poslije bitke na tom su području smrtno su stradali Ivica Šuća i Anđelko Zrnčić iz 126. brigade.

Vijence su na spomen-obilježje, merđu ostalima, položili Božo Giljan, predsjednik vrličke Hvidre, Jure Plazonić, vrlički gradnačelnik, dožupan Luka Brčić, te Nediljko Živaljić iz tvrtke "Županijske ceste Split" u ime radnih kolega pokojnog Varnice. Uz prigodne riječi kojima su evocirana sjećanja na taj slavni događaj rečeno je da će Veli vrh ostati trajno mjesto pohoda na kojemu će se održavati počast Petru Varnici, ali i svim drugim poginulim hrvatskim braniteljima. Riječi su to što ih je na Velom vrhu, dominantnoj koti na Svilaji, jučer kazao hrvatski branitelj Vinko Skorup iz Kaštela pokazujući sinu Ivanu gdje je 8. lipnja 1993. godine u teškom ranjavanju od srpskog snajperista ostao bez donje čeljusti i jedva preživio. Skorup je toga 8. lipnja bio jedan od 16 junaka Velog vrha, svi iz porijeklom vrličkog kraja.

U najvećoj pješačkoj bitci na sinjskoj bojišnici, ne računajući Dinaru, Veli vrh su uz žestoku topničku pripremu napale agresorske snage. Odmah po prestanku topničke vatre uslijedio je neprijateljski pješački napad. Od 16 branitelja smrtno je od prvog metka srpskog snajperiste stradao Petar Varnica, bilo je 11 ranjenika od kojih dio teških, ali Veli vrh je obranjen.
