U Starome Gradu u petak je upriličen svečani doček trajekta "Faros" riječke "Jadrolinije", prinove u "Jadrolinijinoj" floti koja će nakon višemjesečne pripreme u škveru u Kraljevici ploviti na liniji između otoka Hvara i Splita.
Svečanosti su nazočili David Sopta, predsjednik Uprave državnog brodara, hvarski gradonačelnik Rikardo Novak i predsjednik Gradskog vijeća Jurica Miličić, poteštat Staroga Grada Antonio Škarpa, jelšanski načelnik Nikša Peronja, Paula Vidović, ravnateljica Agencije za obalni linijski pomorski promet, te predstavnici Lučke kapetanije i Županijske lučke uprave. Pridružio im se i starogradski župnik don Ljubomir Galov koji je blagoslovio brod, posadu, ali i one koji će ubuduće njime putovati.
– Riječ je o trajektu izgrađenom 2009. godine u Grčkoj, a predstavlja izvrsnu dopunu naše flote. U tom smislu vrlo važan je veliki kapacitet garaže i prostrani putnički salon, tako da sada s "Farosom" možemo prevesti 650 putnika i 170 vozila, što će značajno pridonijeti podizanju kvalitete usluge, posebno tijekom ljetnih mjeseci, kada najsunčaniji hrvatski škoj posjećuju mnogobrojni turisti – kazao je kap. Ivan Čapalija, "Farosov" zapovjednik, inače otočni zet.
Prvi čovjek "Jadrolinije" naglasio je da je ovaj trajekt drugi od ukupno tri broda koje ove godine predstavljaju hrvatskoj javnosti. Novi član bijele flote bio je na doradi, u potpunosti je obnovljen putnički salon i sve je prilagođeno standardima Hrvatskog registra brodova. "Faros" je dug 105 metara, širok je 17,5 metara, a može ploviti brzinom od 14 čvorova.
Trajekt će ploviti na liniji Split – Stari Grad, no direktor Sopta je dodao da taj brod zadovoljava i uvjete plovidbe prema udaljenim otocima. Iako najave za ovogodišnju turističku sezonu nisu bile baš optimistične, protekli vikendi te broj pristiglih turista pokazuju drukčiju sliku, tako da "Faros" svoju plovidbu počinje u idealnom trenutku.

Hvarani i njihovi gosti tako bi trebali svjedočiti još boljoj i bržoj povezanosti njihova otoka i kopna, premda ima i onih koji su u tom pogledu skeptični u prvom redu zbog tehničkih karakteristika plovila.
– "Faros" zadovoljava naše sadašnje potrebe, mijenja "Jurja Dalmatinca" i "Marjan", definitivno je brži i bolji od ta dva trajekta. Međutim, smatramo da je nedovoljno dobar za održavanje glavne linije, osobito u zimskom razdoblju. Nadamo se da ćemo ipak u nekom budućem vremenu riješiti taj problem i dobiti adekvatan brod i za zimu, jer naš škoj ne živi samo ljeti, nego imamo sasvim konkretne i objektivne potrebe tijekom cijele godine – naglasio je gradonačelnik Škarpa.

U Starome Gradu u petak je upriličen svečani doček trajekta "Faros" riječke "Jadrolinije", prinove u "Jadrolinijinoj" floti koja će nakon višemjesečne pripreme u škveru u Kraljevici ploviti na liniji između otoka Hvara i Splita.
Svečanosti su nazočili David Sopta, predsjednik Uprave državnog brodara, hvarski gradonačelnik Rikardo Novak i predsjednik Gradskog vijeća Jurica Miličić, poteštat Staroga Grada Antonio Škarpa, jelšanski načelnik Nikša Peronja, Paula Vidović, ravnateljica Agencije za obalni linijski pomorski promet, te predstavnici Lučke kapetanije i Županijske lučke uprave. Pridružio im se i starogradski župnik don Ljubomir Galov koji je blagoslovio brod, posadu, ali i one koji će ubuduće njime putovati.
– Riječ je o trajektu izgrađenom 2009. godine u Grčkoj, a predstavlja izvrsnu dopunu naše flote. U tom smislu vrlo važan je veliki kapacitet garaže i prostrani putnički salon, tako da sada s "Farosom" možemo prevesti 650 putnika i 170 vozila, što će značajno pridonijeti podizanju kvalitete usluge, posebno tijekom ljetnih mjeseci, kada najsunčaniji hrvatski škoj posjećuju mnogobrojni turisti – kazao je kap. Ivan Čapalija, "Farosov" zapovjednik, inače otočni zet.
Prvi čovjek "Jadrolinije" naglasio je da je ovaj trajekt drugi od ukupno tri broda koje ove godine predstavljaju hrvatskoj javnosti. Novi član bijele flote bio je na doradi, u potpunosti je obnovljen putnički salon i sve je prilagođeno standardima Hrvatskog registra brodova. "Faros" je dug 105 metara, širok je 17,5 metara, a može ploviti brzinom od 14 čvorova.
Trajekt će ploviti na liniji Split – Stari Grad, no direktor Sopta je dodao da taj brod zadovoljava i uvjete plovidbe prema udaljenim otocima. Iako najave za ovogodišnju turističku sezonu nisu bile baš optimistične, protekli vikendi te broj pristiglih turista pokazuju drukčiju sliku, tako da "Faros" svoju plovidbu počinje u idealnom trenutku.

Hvarani i njihovi gosti tako bi trebali svjedočiti još boljoj i bržoj povezanosti njihova otoka i kopna, premda ima i onih koji su u tom pogledu skeptični u prvom redu zbog tehničkih karakteristika plovila.
– "Faros" zadovoljava naše sadašnje potrebe, mijenja "Jurja Dalmatinca" i "Marjan", definitivno je brži i bolji od ta dva trajekta. Međutim, smatramo da je nedovoljno dobar za održavanje glavne linije, osobito u zimskom razdoblju. Nadamo se da ćemo ipak u nekom budućem vremenu riješiti taj problem i dobiti adekvatan brod i za zimu, jer naš škoj ne živi samo ljeti, nego imamo sasvim konkretne i objektivne potrebe tijekom cijele godine – naglasio je gradonačelnik Škarpa.
