Sportska priča koja je započela 2021. godine, uspješno se nastavlja i razvija usprkos mnogim izazovima. Treću godinu zaredom, Split će biti domaćin međunarodnog natjecanja u lacrosseu, na kojem će sudjelovati 26 ekipa i oko 600 igračica i igrača iz cijelog svijeta.

Organizator ovog događaja je Udruga "Dalmatia Lacrosse Cup‘", a njen predsjednik i glavni organizator, Toni Grčić, rekao je:

"Ove godine u glavnom fokusu nam je kvaliteta. Brojčano smo već dostigli i prestigli svoje ciljeve. Sjedimo na samom vrhu Europe po broju sudionika, i to već 3. godinu zaredom, što samo dokazuje da sve ovo do sada nije bila slučajnost nego rezultat velikog rada i truda. To ne znači da nećemo težiti povećanju broja ekipa za slijedeću godinu, naravno da je to uvijek bitno, ali trenutni nam je cilj da cijelu organizaciju podignemo na što višu razinu. To se odnosi na kompletno iskustvo sudionika, od samog dolaska na aerodrom, preko smještaja i hrane, ceremonije otvaranja, terena, osoblja, organiziranog prijevoza, nagrada… Pa sve do naših posebno izrađenih trofeja. Želja je da budemo prepoznatljivi po kvaliteti usluge i specifičnosti ponude. Drugim riječima, želimo biti drugačiji od ostatke Europe i ponuditi nešto novo i nešto bolje, ili u najmanju ruku drugačije. Da identitet Splita i Dalmacije bude u samoj srži ovoga natjecanja. Želimo pokazati lacrosse svijetu što je to "splitski đir"."

Ako se pitate što je zapravo lacrosse, riječ je o momčadskom sportu koji je najpopularniji u SAD-u i Kanadi te je ujedno i najstariji organizirani sport u Sjevernoj Americi, koji svoje početke vuče još iz 12. stoljeća. Osmislili su ga domoroci s područja sjevernog SAD-a i južne Kanade, a služio je ratnicima za izoštravanje ratničkih vještina i kao način rješavanja razmirica između plemena, a imao je i važnu religijsku podlogu. Malo je poznata činjenica da je upravo lacrosse, uz hokej na ledu, službeni nacionalni sport Kanade.

Igraju ga dvije momčadi s 10 igrača, na otvorenom travnatom terenu sličnih dimenzija kao što je i nogometni teren. Igra je jako brza i dinamična te je potrebna dobra kombinacija tehnike i fizičke snage. Igrači nose oklop sličan onome u američkom nogometu, a cilj igre je tvrdom gumenom lopticom postići pogodak, koristeći pri tome štap s pričvršćenom mrežicom na vrhu.

Lacrosse je danas jedan od najbrže rastućih sportova na svijetu, čemu svjedoči i njegovo uvrštavanje u program Olimpijskih igara u Los Angelesu 2028. godine, a popularnost mu stabilno raste u mnogim europskim zemljama, među kojima je i Hrvatska.

Sportska priča koja je započela 2021. godine, uspješno se nastavlja i razvija usprkos mnogim izazovima. Treću godinu zaredom, Split će biti domaćin međunarodnog natjecanja u lacrosseu, na kojem će sudjelovati 26 ekipa i oko 600 igračica i igrača iz cijelog svijeta.

Organizator ovog događaja je Udruga "Dalmatia Lacrosse Cup‘", a njen predsjednik i glavni organizator, Toni Grčić, rekao je:

"Ove godine u glavnom fokusu nam je kvaliteta. Brojčano smo već dostigli i prestigli svoje ciljeve. Sjedimo na samom vrhu Europe po broju sudionika, i to već 3. godinu zaredom, što samo dokazuje da sve ovo do sada nije bila slučajnost nego rezultat velikog rada i truda. To ne znači da nećemo težiti povećanju broja ekipa za slijedeću godinu, naravno da je to uvijek bitno, ali trenutni nam je cilj da cijelu organizaciju podignemo na što višu razinu. To se odnosi na kompletno iskustvo sudionika, od samog dolaska na aerodrom, preko smještaja i hrane, ceremonije otvaranja, terena, osoblja, organiziranog prijevoza, nagrada… Pa sve do naših posebno izrađenih trofeja. Želja je da budemo prepoznatljivi po kvaliteti usluge i specifičnosti ponude. Drugim riječima, želimo biti drugačiji od ostatke Europe i ponuditi nešto novo i nešto bolje, ili u najmanju ruku drugačije. Da identitet Splita i Dalmacije bude u samoj srži ovoga natjecanja. Želimo pokazati lacrosse svijetu što je to "splitski đir"."

Ako se pitate što je zapravo lacrosse, riječ je o momčadskom sportu koji je najpopularniji u SAD-u i Kanadi te je ujedno i najstariji organizirani sport u Sjevernoj Americi, koji svoje početke vuče još iz 12. stoljeća. Osmislili su ga domoroci s područja sjevernog SAD-a i južne Kanade, a služio je ratnicima za izoštravanje ratničkih vještina i kao način rješavanja razmirica između plemena, a imao je i važnu religijsku podlogu. Malo je poznata činjenica da je upravo lacrosse, uz hokej na ledu, službeni nacionalni sport Kanade.

Igraju ga dvije momčadi s 10 igrača, na otvorenom travnatom terenu sličnih dimenzija kao što je i nogometni teren. Igra je jako brza i dinamična te je potrebna dobra kombinacija tehnike i fizičke snage. Igrači nose oklop sličan onome u američkom nogometu, a cilj igre je tvrdom gumenom lopticom postići pogodak, koristeći pri tome štap s pričvršćenom mrežicom na vrhu.

Lacrosse je danas jedan od najbrže rastućih sportova na svijetu, čemu svjedoči i njegovo uvrštavanje u program Olimpijskih igara u Los Angelesu 2028. godine, a popularnost mu stabilno raste u mnogim europskim zemljama, među kojima je i Hrvatska.
