Županijska Javna ustanova Natura Jadera u suradnji s Hrvatskim vodama obnavlja stari kanal koji je tamo još iz vremena Austrougarske. Taj je kanal bio zatrpan, ali u Natura Jaderi će znati više detalja o tome što se događa, a ja mogu potvrditi da Sakarun nikada u ovo dobra godine nije izgledao bolje nego što sada izgleda, kazao nam je načelnik Sali Zoran Morović suočen s pitanjem što se to radi na Sakarunu, najpoznatijoj i najatraktivnijoj dugootočkoj plaži.

Sakarun je već odavno "zaštitni znak" cijelog otoka, pa nije čudno što su "nekakvi radovi na plaži" izazvali pažnju naših čitatelja s Dugog otoka. Evo o čemu se radi.

Natura Jadera je javna ustanova za upravljanje zaštićenim dijelovima prirode na području Zadarske županije koja je prošle godine, u suradnji s Hrvatskim vodama te uz manji doprinos MedIsWet projekta, započela obnovu lokve Sakarun na Dugom otoku.

Ta je lokva već prije dugog niza godina izgubila svoju funkciju, obrasla vegetacijom, korita ispunjenog viškom organskog materijala te gubitkom prostora uslijed širenja šikare i šume. Zbog toga više nije mogla zadržavati vodu, pa je počela gubiti i bioraznolikost (vodozemce, ptice močvarice, vretenca itd.). Stoga je vraćanje ove lokve u život odličan primjer kako lokalne inicijative mogu promijeniti negativan tijek događaja, objasnila nam je Morana Bačić, voditeljica Natura Jadere dodajući kako je očuvanje vlažnih staništa posebno važno na otocima gdje je su izvori slatke vode puno manji i gdje će se posljedice klimatskih promjena puno više odraziti na svakodnevicu ako ne dođe do promjena.

-Otočna vlažna staništa nekoć su imala vrlo važnu ulogu u razvoju i životu otoka. Danas su ona često zapuštena, devastirana i zaboravljena. U sklopu projekta MedIsWet - Očuvanje vlažnih staništa otoka Sredozemlja, terenskim istraživanjima mapirali smo i procijenili stanje 151 većeg vlažnog staništa na 31 otoku Jadrana. Iako je dio njih u dobrom stanju i pod određenom zaštitom, i dalje je velik broj onih kojima prijeti nestanak. Srećom, pojedine institucije prepoznale su važnost njihove obnove“, istaknuo je nedavno Boris Lauš iz Udruge Hyla.

Ove godine, udruga Hyla i Natura Jadera nastavljaju s obnovom otočnih vlažnih staništa, u sklopu čega će se očistiti i time poboljšati status ornitološkog rezervata i jednog od tri najveća jezera na otoku Pagu – Malog blata.

Županijska Javna ustanova Natura Jadera u suradnji s Hrvatskim vodama obnavlja stari kanal koji je tamo još iz vremena Austrougarske. Taj je kanal bio zatrpan, ali u Natura Jaderi će znati više detalja o tome što se događa, a ja mogu potvrditi da Sakarun nikada u ovo dobra godine nije izgledao bolje nego što sada izgleda, kazao nam je načelnik Sali Zoran Morović suočen s pitanjem što se to radi na Sakarunu, najpoznatijoj i najatraktivnijoj dugootočkoj plaži.

Sakarun je već odavno "zaštitni znak" cijelog otoka, pa nije čudno što su "nekakvi radovi na plaži" izazvali pažnju naših čitatelja s Dugog otoka. Evo o čemu se radi.

Natura Jadera je javna ustanova za upravljanje zaštićenim dijelovima prirode na području Zadarske županije koja je prošle godine, u suradnji s Hrvatskim vodama te uz manji doprinos MedIsWet projekta, započela obnovu lokve Sakarun na Dugom otoku.

Ta je lokva već prije dugog niza godina izgubila svoju funkciju, obrasla vegetacijom, korita ispunjenog viškom organskog materijala te gubitkom prostora uslijed širenja šikare i šume. Zbog toga više nije mogla zadržavati vodu, pa je počela gubiti i bioraznolikost (vodozemce, ptice močvarice, vretenca itd.). Stoga je vraćanje ove lokve u život odličan primjer kako lokalne inicijative mogu promijeniti negativan tijek događaja, objasnila nam je Morana Bačić, voditeljica Natura Jadere dodajući kako je očuvanje vlažnih staništa posebno važno na otocima gdje je su izvori slatke vode puno manji i gdje će se posljedice klimatskih promjena puno više odraziti na svakodnevicu ako ne dođe do promjena.

-Otočna vlažna staništa nekoć su imala vrlo važnu ulogu u razvoju i životu otoka. Danas su ona često zapuštena, devastirana i zaboravljena. U sklopu projekta MedIsWet - Očuvanje vlažnih staništa otoka Sredozemlja, terenskim istraživanjima mapirali smo i procijenili stanje 151 većeg vlažnog staništa na 31 otoku Jadrana. Iako je dio njih u dobrom stanju i pod određenom zaštitom, i dalje je velik broj onih kojima prijeti nestanak. Srećom, pojedine institucije prepoznale su važnost njihove obnove“, istaknuo je nedavno Boris Lauš iz Udruge Hyla.

Ove godine, udruga Hyla i Natura Jadera nastavljaju s obnovom otočnih vlažnih staništa, u sklopu čega će se očistiti i time poboljšati status ornitološkog rezervata i jednog od tri najveća jezera na otoku Pagu – Malog blata.
