- Prijeti li nam novi hladni val? - pitanje je od iznimne važnosti na koje odgovor pokušavaju dati znanstvenici iz cijeloga svijeta, a ovih dana povoda za zabrinutost daje im Golfska struja, koja nikada nije bila ovako slaba u posljednjih 1600 godina.

Takva situacija mogla bi dovesti do smrzavanja pola Europe, a posljedica je razornog ljudskog djelovanja na okoliš. Pitanje je i hoće li to dati konačan odgovor na dugogodišnju prepirku znanstvenika o tome prijeti li nam malo ledeno doba ili globalno zatopljavanje.

Situacija s Golfskom strujom svakako ide u prilog teoriji poznatog profesora Vladimira Paara.

- Trenutno usporavanje Golfske struje je bez presedana - objavili su nedavno znanstvenici s Potsdamskog instituta za istraživanje utjecaja klime i inicijatori studije koja je ostavila svijet bez teksta. Čini se kako je malo tko očekivao toliko razloga za zabrinutost.

Presudna za svjetsku klimu

Golfska struja je glavni mehanizam za preraspodjelu topline i presudna je za svjetsku klimu, a njezino naglo usporavanje moglo bi izazvati poremećaje širom svijeta, uključujući nagli porast regionalne razine mora, promjene položaja većih kiša i sušnih klimatskih zona.

Znanstvena analiza pokazala je kako je sustav oceanskih struja bio relativno stabilan do devetnaestog stoljeća.

Počeo je propadati iza oko 1850. godine, a drugi, drastičniji pad uslijedio je od sredine dvadesetog stoljeća. Ako nastavimo poticati globalno zagrijavanje, Golfska struja će dodatno oslabiti za 34 do 45 posto do 2100. godine.

Potapanje Floride

Posljedice ovih velikih promjena mogle bi biti višestruke za stanovnike više kontinenata. Recimo, u tom slučaju istočnoj obali SAD-a prijete poplave, a katastrofalne posljedice trpjet će i mnoge europske države, u prvom redu Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo i Irska.

Spomenuto istraživanje, nažalost, pokazuje vjerojatnost da će struja dodatno slabiti, a kada se to posljednji put dogodilo prije 12 tisuća godina, svijet se nakratko vratio u ledeno doba.

Dakle, ne nađemo li ubrzo rješenje, situacija bi se mogla razviti tako da će doći do ubrzanog porasta razine mora duž cijele američke istočne obale, što bi moglo dovesti do potapanja Floride, a Europa bi se mogla gotovo cijela zamrznuti.

- Prijeti li nam novi hladni val? - pitanje je od iznimne važnosti na koje odgovor pokušavaju dati znanstvenici iz cijeloga svijeta, a ovih dana povoda za zabrinutost daje im Golfska struja, koja nikada nije bila ovako slaba u posljednjih 1600 godina.

Takva situacija mogla bi dovesti do smrzavanja pola Europe, a posljedica je razornog ljudskog djelovanja na okoliš. Pitanje je i hoće li to dati konačan odgovor na dugogodišnju prepirku znanstvenika o tome prijeti li nam malo ledeno doba ili globalno zatopljavanje.

Situacija s Golfskom strujom svakako ide u prilog teoriji poznatog profesora Vladimira Paara.

- Trenutno usporavanje Golfske struje je bez presedana - objavili su nedavno znanstvenici s Potsdamskog instituta za istraživanje utjecaja klime i inicijatori studije koja je ostavila svijet bez teksta. Čini se kako je malo tko očekivao toliko razloga za zabrinutost.

Presudna za svjetsku klimu

Golfska struja je glavni mehanizam za preraspodjelu topline i presudna je za svjetsku klimu, a njezino naglo usporavanje moglo bi izazvati poremećaje širom svijeta, uključujući nagli porast regionalne razine mora, promjene položaja većih kiša i sušnih klimatskih zona.

Znanstvena analiza pokazala je kako je sustav oceanskih struja bio relativno stabilan do devetnaestog stoljeća.

Počeo je propadati iza oko 1850. godine, a drugi, drastičniji pad uslijedio je od sredine dvadesetog stoljeća. Ako nastavimo poticati globalno zagrijavanje, Golfska struja će dodatno oslabiti za 34 do 45 posto do 2100. godine.

Potapanje Floride

Posljedice ovih velikih promjena mogle bi biti višestruke za stanovnike više kontinenata. Recimo, u tom slučaju istočnoj obali SAD-a prijete poplave, a katastrofalne posljedice trpjet će i mnoge europske države, u prvom redu Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo i Irska.

Spomenuto istraživanje, nažalost, pokazuje vjerojatnost da će struja dodatno slabiti, a kada se to posljednji put dogodilo prije 12 tisuća godina, svijet se nakratko vratio u ledeno doba.

Dakle, ne nađemo li ubrzo rješenje, situacija bi se mogla razviti tako da će doći do ubrzanog porasta razine mora duž cijele američke istočne obale, što bi moglo dovesti do potapanja Floride, a Europa bi se mogla gotovo cijela zamrznuti.
