Projekt The Line bio je od početka žestoko kritiziran i obavijen velom tajne, a sada po prvi puta o njemu govore ljudi koji su ga dizajnirali i koji ga smatraju vizionarskim.
Već dugo neka građevina nije izazvala toliko različitih komentara među arhitektima kao futuristički grad The Line, koji se u studenom prošle godine počeo graditi u pustinji u Saudijskoj Arabiji. Jedni ga osuđuju, a drugi, među kojima su najglasniji arhitekti iz šest svjetski poznatih ureda koji sudjeluju u izgradnji, smatraju vizionarskim. O tome što misle, zašto ga grade i u kojoj je fazi progovorili su u novom 45-minutom dokumentarcu Discovery Channela "The Line: Saudi Arabia‘s City of the Future in Neom".

Od samog početka se ta futuristička građevina smatra jednim od najkontroverznijih svjetskih projekata i mnogi su ga kritizirali zbog kršenja ljudskih prava. Dovoljno je reći da su tri pripadnika plemena Hoveitat osuđena na smrt nakon što su odbili napustiti svoje domove koji se nalaze na lokaciji megaprojekta Neom, u sklopu kojeg se gradi The Line. Taj škakljivi dio priče ne spominje se dokumentarcu Discovery Channela.

Inače, strukturu The Linea čine dvije zrcalne linearne zgrade, svaka visine 500 metara, a među njima će se u prostoru širine 200 metara nalaziti parkovi i područje za rekreaciju. Grad će se u ravnoj liniji dugačkoj čak 170 kilometara protezati od Crvenog mora prema unutrašnjosti, a u njemu će živjeti devet milijuna ljudi. Gradskom infrastrukturom upravljat će umjetna inteligencija, kroz njega će voziti najbrža željeznica na svijetu (512 kilometara na sat). Cijela ta a megastruktura napajat će se isključivo obnovljivim energijama, među ostalim energijom vjetra, vodika i Sunca.
Prema dokumentarcu, grad je podijeljen na 140 modula, a svaki od njih bit će dugačak 800 metara i primat će 80.000 ljudi - piše Dezeen.

Svaki od prvih pet od modula razvit će drugi arhitektonski studio odabran među 20 najboljih na svijetu. Film sadrži intervjue s arhitektima iz šest studija - Morphosis, Cook Haffner Architecture Platform, Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, HOK, LAVA i OMA.
Projekt je od početka bio obavijen velom tajne i dugo se šuškalo da je američki studio Morphosis glavni arhitekt The Linea. Nedavno je to potvrdio i njegov osnivač Thom Mayne.
- Ne mogu se sjetiti nikoga tko ne bi želio biti dio ovog projekta.To će, bez sumnje, biti najneobičniji projekt u prvoj četvrtini 21. stoljeća. Vrlo je kompliciran, ali velika ideja je nevjerojatno jednostavna - kazao je u dokumetarcu Thom Mayne.
Osnivač Cook Haffner Architecture Platform Peter Cook smatra da je The Line intrigantan i zbunjujući za mnoge ljude, no da to nije razlog za odustajanje. Pogotovo zamjera mladim arhitektima na negativnim kritikama.

- Uvijek se pretpostavljalo da su mladi progresivniji, no sada ispada da su najmlađi arhitekti nervozni. Rekao bih da oni nisu prirodni eksperimentatori. Malo su uplašeni. Ako The Line uspije, bit će to, da tako kažem, novi Babilon. A ako ne uspije, bit će zanimljiv fenomen. Mislim da su najbolji gradovi pomalo zločesti - kazao je Peter Cook.
Voditelj dizajna iz HOK-a Roger Soto smatra da arhitekti i urbanisti o svemu moraju drugačije razmišljati, no i da imaju ogromnu odgovornost zbog ljudi koje će tu jednog dana živjeti.
- Potreban nam je ovaj pionirski duh kako bismo stvorili ne samo gradove, već planet koji će održati sljedećih nekoliko tisućljeća. Neom je sam po sebi jedno od najčudesnijih mjesta, mjesto gdje se okupljaju najbolji umovi i gdje možemo testirati različita rješenja - govori u filmu Alexander Rieck, suosnivač, LAVA-e, međunarodnog laboratorija za vizionarsku arhitekturu.
I dok se u dokumentarcu ne spominje nijedna ružna riječ o The Lineu, Peter Frankental iz Amnesty Internationala je u izjavi za Dezeen kazao:

Projekt The Line bio je od početka žestoko kritiziran i obavijen velom tajne, a sada po prvi puta o njemu govore ljudi koji su ga dizajnirali i koji ga smatraju vizionarskim.
Već dugo neka građevina nije izazvala toliko različitih komentara među arhitektima kao futuristički grad The Line, koji se u studenom prošle godine počeo graditi u pustinji u Saudijskoj Arabiji. Jedni ga osuđuju, a drugi, među kojima su najglasniji arhitekti iz šest svjetski poznatih ureda koji sudjeluju u izgradnji, smatraju vizionarskim. O tome što misle, zašto ga grade i u kojoj je fazi progovorili su u novom 45-minutom dokumentarcu Discovery Channela "The Line: Saudi Arabia‘s City of the Future in Neom".

Od samog početka se ta futuristička građevina smatra jednim od najkontroverznijih svjetskih projekata i mnogi su ga kritizirali zbog kršenja ljudskih prava. Dovoljno je reći da su tri pripadnika plemena Hoveitat osuđena na smrt nakon što su odbili napustiti svoje domove koji se nalaze na lokaciji megaprojekta Neom, u sklopu kojeg se gradi The Line. Taj škakljivi dio priče ne spominje se dokumentarcu Discovery Channela.

Inače, strukturu The Linea čine dvije zrcalne linearne zgrade, svaka visine 500 metara, a među njima će se u prostoru širine 200 metara nalaziti parkovi i područje za rekreaciju. Grad će se u ravnoj liniji dugačkoj čak 170 kilometara protezati od Crvenog mora prema unutrašnjosti, a u njemu će živjeti devet milijuna ljudi. Gradskom infrastrukturom upravljat će umjetna inteligencija, kroz njega će voziti najbrža željeznica na svijetu (512 kilometara na sat). Cijela ta a megastruktura napajat će se isključivo obnovljivim energijama, među ostalim energijom vjetra, vodika i Sunca.

Svaki od prvih pet od modula razvit će drugi arhitektonski studio odabran među 20 najboljih na svijetu. Film sadrži intervjue s arhitektima iz šest studija - Morphosis, Cook Haffner Architecture Platform, Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, HOK, LAVA i OMA.
Projekt je od početka bio obavijen velom tajne i dugo se šuškalo da je američki studio Morphosis glavni arhitekt The Linea. Nedavno je to potvrdio i njegov osnivač Thom Mayne.
- Ne mogu se sjetiti nikoga tko ne bi želio biti dio ovog projekta.To će, bez sumnje, biti najneobičniji projekt u prvoj četvrtini 21. stoljeća. Vrlo je kompliciran, ali velika ideja je nevjerojatno jednostavna - kazao je u dokumetarcu Thom Mayne.
Osnivač Cook Haffner Architecture Platform Peter Cook smatra da je The Line intrigantan i zbunjujući za mnoge ljude, no da to nije razlog za odustajanje. Pogotovo zamjera mladim arhitektima na negativnim kritikama.

- Uvijek se pretpostavljalo da su mladi progresivniji, no sada ispada da su najmlađi arhitekti nervozni. Rekao bih da oni nisu prirodni eksperimentatori. Malo su uplašeni. Ako The Line uspije, bit će to, da tako kažem, novi Babilon. A ako ne uspije, bit će zanimljiv fenomen. Mislim da su najbolji gradovi pomalo zločesti - kazao je Peter Cook.
Voditelj dizajna iz HOK-a Roger Soto smatra da arhitekti i urbanisti o svemu moraju drugačije razmišljati, no i da imaju ogromnu odgovornost zbog ljudi koje će tu jednog dana živjeti.
- Potreban nam je ovaj pionirski duh kako bismo stvorili ne samo gradove, već planet koji će održati sljedećih nekoliko tisućljeća. Neom je sam po sebi jedno od najčudesnijih mjesta, mjesto gdje se okupljaju najbolji umovi i gdje možemo testirati različita rješenja - govori u filmu Alexander Rieck, suosnivač, LAVA-e, međunarodnog laboratorija za vizionarsku arhitekturu.
I dok se u dokumentarcu ne spominje nijedna ružna riječ o The Lineu, Peter Frankental iz Amnesty Internationala je u izjavi za Dezeen kazao:
