Pandemija covida-19 još nije ni blizu kraja, rekao je u ponedjeljak na konferenciji za medije čelnik Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Tedros je napomenuo da je, šest mjeseci nakon što je Kina prvi puta upozorila WHO na novu respiratornu zarazu, dostignuta granica od 10.000.000 slučajeva zaraze i 500.000 mrtvih od covida-19.

"Većina ljudi je i dalje podložna zarazi. Virus ima još mnogo prostora za širenje", rekao je.

"Svi mi želimo da se ovo okonča. Svi želimo nastaviti s našim životima. No gruba stvarnost je da ovo još nije ni blizu kraja. Iako su mnoge zemlje ostvarile određeni napredak, globalno se pandemija zapravo ubrzava".

Čelnik WHO-ovog programa za izvanredna stanja Mike Ryan je rekao da je ostvaren ogroman napredak u nalaženju sigurnog i učinkovitog cjepiva protiv covida-19, ali da još nema jamstva da će ti napori biti uspješni.

U međuvremenu zemlje se protiv širenja zaraze mogu boriti testiranjem, izoliranjem potvrđenih slučajeva i praćenjem njihovih kontakata, rekao je Ryan. Posebno je istaknuo "sveobuhvatne, ustrajne strategije" Japana, Južne Koreje i Njemačke u borbi protiv zaraze.

WHO ovoga tjedna planira sazvati sastanak kako bi se procijenio napredak u borbi protiv covida-19, rekao je Tedros.

Tedros je rekao i da WHO idućeg tjedna šalje stručnu skupinu za istraživanje izvora novog koronavirusa.

Sjedinjene Države, najglasniji kritičar WHO-a koji je najavio i napuštanje te organizacije, zatražile su istragu o porijeklu koronavirusa.

Američki predsjednik Donald Trump i državni tajnik Mike Pompeo su ustvrdili da je virus potekao iz laboratorija, iako za to nisu iznijeli dokaze. Kina odlučno odbacuje takve tvrdnje.

Pandemija covida-19 još nije ni blizu kraja, rekao je u ponedjeljak na konferenciji za medije čelnik Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Tedros je napomenuo da je, šest mjeseci nakon što je Kina prvi puta upozorila WHO na novu respiratornu zarazu, dostignuta granica od 10.000.000 slučajeva zaraze i 500.000 mrtvih od covida-19.

"Većina ljudi je i dalje podložna zarazi. Virus ima još mnogo prostora za širenje", rekao je.

"Svi mi želimo da se ovo okonča. Svi želimo nastaviti s našim životima. No gruba stvarnost je da ovo još nije ni blizu kraja. Iako su mnoge zemlje ostvarile određeni napredak, globalno se pandemija zapravo ubrzava".

Čelnik WHO-ovog programa za izvanredna stanja Mike Ryan je rekao da je ostvaren ogroman napredak u nalaženju sigurnog i učinkovitog cjepiva protiv covida-19, ali da još nema jamstva da će ti napori biti uspješni.

U međuvremenu zemlje se protiv širenja zaraze mogu boriti testiranjem, izoliranjem potvrđenih slučajeva i praćenjem njihovih kontakata, rekao je Ryan. Posebno je istaknuo "sveobuhvatne, ustrajne strategije" Japana, Južne Koreje i Njemačke u borbi protiv zaraze.

WHO ovoga tjedna planira sazvati sastanak kako bi se procijenio napredak u borbi protiv covida-19, rekao je Tedros.

Tedros je rekao i da WHO idućeg tjedna šalje stručnu skupinu za istraživanje izvora novog koronavirusa.

Sjedinjene Države, najglasniji kritičar WHO-a koji je najavio i napuštanje te organizacije, zatražile su istragu o porijeklu koronavirusa.

Američki predsjednik Donald Trump i državni tajnik Mike Pompeo su ustvrdili da je virus potekao iz laboratorija, iako za to nisu iznijeli dokaze. Kina odlučno odbacuje takve tvrdnje.

Pandemija covida-19 još nije ni blizu kraja, rekao je u ponedjeljak na konferenciji za medije čelnik Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Tedros je napomenuo da je, šest mjeseci nakon što je Kina prvi puta upozorila WHO na novu respiratornu zarazu, dostignuta granica od 10.000.000 slučajeva zaraze i 500.000 mrtvih od covida-19.

Čelnik WHO-ovog programa za izvanredna stanja Mike Ryan je rekao da je ostvaren ogroman napredak u nalaženju sigurnog i učinkovitog cjepiva protiv covida-19, ali da još nema jamstva da će ti napori biti uspješni.

U međuvremenu zemlje se protiv širenja zaraze mogu boriti testiranjem, izoliranjem potvrđenih slučajeva i praćenjem njihovih kontakata, rekao je Ryan. Posebno je istaknuo "sveobuhvatne, ustrajne strategije" Japana, Južne Koreje i Njemačke u borbi protiv zaraze.

WHO ovoga tjedna planira sazvati sastanak kako bi se procijenio napredak u borbi protiv covida-19, rekao je Tedros.

Tedros je rekao i da WHO idućeg tjedna šalje stručnu skupinu za istraživanje izvora novog koronavirusa.

Sjedinjene Države, najglasniji kritičar WHO-a koji je najavio i napuštanje te organizacije, zatražile su istragu o porijeklu koronavirusa.

Američki predsjednik Donald Trump i državni tajnik Mike Pompeo su ustvrdili da je virus potekao iz laboratorija, iako za to nisu iznijeli dokaze. Kina odlučno odbacuje takve tvrdnje.
