Iran bi mogao proizvesti dovoljno materijala za razvoj nuklearne bombe u roku od 12 dana – upozorio je ovog tjedna visoki dužnosnik Pentagona na saslušanju u donjem domu američkog Kongresa.

Kako navodi Reuters, zamjenik američkog ministra obrane Colin Kahl taj je komentar dao u odgovoru na pitanje jednog republikanskog zastupnika zašto bi Bidenova administracija pokušala oživjeti nuklearni sporazum s Iranom.

- Zato što je nuklearni napredak Irana, otkako smo napustili sporazum, bio izuzetan – odgovorio je visoki dužnosnik Pentagona, te pojasnio:

- Još 2018., kada je prethodna administracija odlučila napustiti sporazum, Iranu je trebalo oko 12 mjeseci da proizvede materijal za jednu bombu. Sada bi im trebalo oko 12 dana - rekao je Kahl, treći po rangu dužnosnik ministarstva obrane SAD-a.

Reuters podsjeća da su nuklearni inspektori UN-a nedavno upozorili kako je na jednoj od nuklearnih lokacija Iran obogatio uran do 83 posto, što je blizu razine od 90 posto, nužne za proizvodnju materijala za nuklearno oružje.

Zaključak UN-ovih inspektora glasio je da bi Iran „mogao proizvesti nekoliko bombi, ali će vjerojatno biti potrebni mjeseci da se one postave na projektile”.

‘Imamo i druge opcije‘

Podsjetimo, još je administracija Baracka Obame te 2015. donijela Zajednički sveobuhvatni akcijski plan (JCPOA), kojim je dogovoreno da SAD i Zapad ukidaju sankcije Iranu u zamjenu za ograničenja sposobnosti Teherana da obogaćuje uran do razina na kojima se može razviti u nuklearno oružje.

Međutim, naredni američki predsjednik Donald Trump jednostrano je 2018. izašao iz tog nuklearnog sporazuma, obnovivši sankcije perzijskoj zemlji, nakon čega je Teheran demonstrativno nastavio obogaćivati uran.

Bidenova administracija započela je u travnju 2021. neizravne pregovore s Iranom kako bi oživjela sporazum, ali razgovori su zadnjih mjeseci u zastoju. Kako je na saslušanju rekao spomenuti zamjenik američkog ministra obrane, sporazum se nalazi „na ledu” i „nije na horizontu u skorije vrijeme”.

- Stajalište administracije ostaje da je diplomatski dogovor o ograničenju iranskog programa najbolja alternativa za sprečavanje Irana da dobije nuklearno oružje. A ako diplomatski ishod nije moguć, onda imamo druge opcije - rekao je Kahl zastupnicima.

‘Ne očekujemo nikakav napredak‘

Reuters nadalje podsjeća da se lani u prosincu pojavio video s jednog političkog skupa, na kojem predsjednik Biden govori da je iranski nuklearni sporazum „mrtav”, ali njegova administracija to nije namjeravala objaviti.

Upitan da komentira video, glasnogovornik Vijeća za nacionalnu sigurnost Bijele kuće John Kirby priznao je da „nije bilo napretka” s iranskim sporazumom.

- U bliskoj budućnosti ne očekujemo nikakav napredak - rekao je Kirby tada novinarima.

Dodatnu dimenziju američko-iranskog sukoba predstavlja rat u Ukrajini, koji je još pogoršao odnose između Washingtona i Teherana. Amerika već mjesecima optužuje Iran da šalje eksplozivne dronove Moskvi, a nagađa se da bi Rusija zauzvrat mogla poslati Iranu sofisticirano oružje, uključujući i moderne ratne avione.

Stoga se čini da su pregovori o iranskom nuklearnom sporazumu pali kao kolateralna žrtva ukrajinskog rata.

Valja reći da ovu priču najpozornije prati Izrael, koji se zarekao da njegov smrtni neprijatelj u Teheranu nikad neće imati nuklearno oružje, odnosno da će Izrael to na svaki način spriječiti.

Drugim riječima, militaristička pozornica za otvaranje „perzijske fronte” već je dobrano postavljena.

Iran bi mogao proizvesti dovoljno materijala za razvoj nuklearne bombe u roku od 12 dana – upozorio je ovog tjedna visoki dužnosnik Pentagona na saslušanju u donjem domu američkog Kongresa.

Kako navodi Reuters, zamjenik američkog ministra obrane Colin Kahl taj je komentar dao u odgovoru na pitanje jednog republikanskog zastupnika zašto bi Bidenova administracija pokušala oživjeti nuklearni sporazum s Iranom.

- Zato što je nuklearni napredak Irana, otkako smo napustili sporazum, bio izuzetan – odgovorio je visoki dužnosnik Pentagona, te pojasnio:

- Još 2018., kada je prethodna administracija odlučila napustiti sporazum, Iranu je trebalo oko 12 mjeseci da proizvede materijal za jednu bombu. Sada bi im trebalo oko 12 dana - rekao je Kahl, treći po rangu dužnosnik ministarstva obrane SAD-a.

Reuters podsjeća da su nuklearni inspektori UN-a nedavno upozorili kako je na jednoj od nuklearnih lokacija Iran obogatio uran do 83 posto, što je blizu razine od 90 posto, nužne za proizvodnju materijala za nuklearno oružje.

Zaključak UN-ovih inspektora glasio je da bi Iran „mogao proizvesti nekoliko bombi, ali će vjerojatno biti potrebni mjeseci da se one postave na projektile”.

‘Imamo i druge opcije‘

Podsjetimo, još je administracija Baracka Obame te 2015. donijela Zajednički sveobuhvatni akcijski plan (JCPOA), kojim je dogovoreno da SAD i Zapad ukidaju sankcije Iranu u zamjenu za ograničenja sposobnosti Teherana da obogaćuje uran do razina na kojima se može razviti u nuklearno oružje.

Međutim, naredni američki predsjednik Donald Trump jednostrano je 2018. izašao iz tog nuklearnog sporazuma, obnovivši sankcije perzijskoj zemlji, nakon čega je Teheran demonstrativno nastavio obogaćivati uran.

Bidenova administracija započela je u travnju 2021. neizravne pregovore s Iranom kako bi oživjela sporazum, ali razgovori su zadnjih mjeseci u zastoju. Kako je na saslušanju rekao spomenuti zamjenik američkog ministra obrane, sporazum se nalazi „na ledu” i „nije na horizontu u skorije vrijeme”.

- Stajalište administracije ostaje da je diplomatski dogovor o ograničenju iranskog programa najbolja alternativa za sprečavanje Irana da dobije nuklearno oružje. A ako diplomatski ishod nije moguć, onda imamo druge opcije - rekao je Kahl zastupnicima.

‘Ne očekujemo nikakav napredak‘

Reuters nadalje podsjeća da se lani u prosincu pojavio video s jednog političkog skupa, na kojem predsjednik Biden govori da je iranski nuklearni sporazum „mrtav”, ali njegova administracija to nije namjeravala objaviti.

Upitan da komentira video, glasnogovornik Vijeća za nacionalnu sigurnost Bijele kuće John Kirby priznao je da „nije bilo napretka” s iranskim sporazumom.

- U bliskoj budućnosti ne očekujemo nikakav napredak - rekao je Kirby tada novinarima.

Dodatnu dimenziju američko-iranskog sukoba predstavlja rat u Ukrajini, koji je još pogoršao odnose između Washingtona i Teherana. Amerika već mjesecima optužuje Iran da šalje eksplozivne dronove Moskvi, a nagađa se da bi Rusija zauzvrat mogla poslati Iranu sofisticirano oružje, uključujući i moderne ratne avione.

Stoga se čini da su pregovori o iranskom nuklearnom sporazumu pali kao kolateralna žrtva ukrajinskog rata.

Valja reći da ovu priču najpozornije prati Izrael, koji se zarekao da njegov smrtni neprijatelj u Teheranu nikad neće imati nuklearno oružje, odnosno da će Izrael to na svaki način spriječiti.

Drugim riječima, militaristička pozornica za otvaranje „perzijske fronte” već je dobrano postavljena.

Iran bi mogao proizvesti dovoljno materijala za razvoj nuklearne bombe u roku od 12 dana – upozorio je ovog tjedna visoki dužnosnik Pentagona na saslušanju u donjem domu američkog Kongresa.
