Snažne oluje protutnjale su dijelovima južne Oklahome ovoga utorka navečer i proizvele nekoliko tornada, uključujući jednu nevjerojatno rijetku vrstu.

Više tornada zabilježeno je istovremeno u okrugu Tillman u Oklahomi a onda se dogodilo nešto veoma čudno.

Najmanje dva tornada pokazala su vrlo neobično ponašanje: jedan snažan tornado napravio je petlju unatrag i ponovno prešao svoj prethodni put, a drugi se okrenuo se u "pogrešnom" smjeru, javlja CNN.

"Ovo sigurno ne viđate svaki dan. Čini se da su tornada nastala iz iste snažne grmljavinske oluje, rekao je za CNN Rick Smith, meteorolog iz Nacionalne meteorološke službe u Normanu, Oklahoma.

Evo kako se to odigralo.

Superćelijska grmljavinska oluja - snažna, veoma opasna vrsta oluje - oživjela je u blizini granice Oklahome i Teksasa i krenula prema istoku. Ova je oluja proizvela veliki tornado sjeverno od Lovelanda u Oklahomi nešto prije 22 sata.

Radarske slike pokazuju kako tornado kreće na istok prije nego što je znatno usporio, skrenuo prema sjeveru, zatim prema zapadu i prešao preko mjesta gdje je upravo udario.

Oluje se općenito kreću od zapada prema istoku, ali snažna tornada ponekad se mogu okrenuti natrag prema zapadu jer gube snagu, prema Smithu. Ono što je mnogo neobičnije u ovoj situaciji je da je tornado načinio punu petlju preko vlastite putanje.

Tornado EF5 koji je desetkovao grad Greensburg u Kansasu u svibnju 2007. možda je najrazorniji primjer takve kružne putanje.

Spiralni tornado u utorak navečer oslabio je dok je dovršavao svoju piruetu u blizini Lovelanda, ali tada se pojavio novi problem: novi, snažni anticiklonalni tornado pojavio se na južnom rubu iste oluje. Vjerojatno su ova dva tornada bila kratko aktivna u isto vrijeme, rekao je Smith.

Tornada na sjevernoj hemisferi obično se okreću ciklonalno ili suprotno od kazaljke na satu, ali ovaj novi tornado vrtio se u smjeru kazaljke na satu.

Došlo je do smirivanja premda je stanje bilo neizvjesno - tornada su mogla ponovno krenuti.

Radari su zabilježili u zraku mnoštvo krhotina na visini od nekoliko kilometara što znači da su udari bili veoam snažni ali, na sreću, ples dvaju tornada zbio se nad rijetko naseljenim područjem te nema za sada izvještaja o materijalnoj šteti ili ozlijeđenima.

Snažne oluje protutnjale su dijelovima južne Oklahome ovoga utorka navečer i proizvele nekoliko tornada, uključujući jednu nevjerojatno rijetku vrstu.

Više tornada zabilježeno je istovremeno u okrugu Tillman u Oklahomi a onda se dogodilo nešto veoma čudno.

Najmanje dva tornada pokazala su vrlo neobično ponašanje: jedan snažan tornado napravio je petlju unatrag i ponovno prešao svoj prethodni put, a drugi se okrenuo se u "pogrešnom" smjeru, javlja CNN.

"Ovo sigurno ne viđate svaki dan. Čini se da su tornada nastala iz iste snažne grmljavinske oluje, rekao je za CNN Rick Smith, meteorolog iz Nacionalne meteorološke službe u Normanu, Oklahoma.

Evo kako se to odigralo.

Superćelijska grmljavinska oluja - snažna, veoma opasna vrsta oluje - oživjela je u blizini granice Oklahome i Teksasa i krenula prema istoku. Ova je oluja proizvela veliki tornado sjeverno od Lovelanda u Oklahomi nešto prije 22 sata.

Radarske slike pokazuju kako tornado kreće na istok prije nego što je znatno usporio, skrenuo prema sjeveru, zatim prema zapadu i prešao preko mjesta gdje je upravo udario.

Oluje se općenito kreću od zapada prema istoku, ali snažna tornada ponekad se mogu okrenuti natrag prema zapadu jer gube snagu, prema Smithu. Ono što je mnogo neobičnije u ovoj situaciji je da je tornado načinio punu petlju preko vlastite putanje.

Tornado EF5 koji je desetkovao grad Greensburg u Kansasu u svibnju 2007. možda je najrazorniji primjer takve kružne putanje.

Spiralni tornado u utorak navečer oslabio je dok je dovršavao svoju piruetu u blizini Lovelanda, ali tada se pojavio novi problem: novi, snažni anticiklonalni tornado pojavio se na južnom rubu iste oluje. Vjerojatno su ova dva tornada bila kratko aktivna u isto vrijeme, rekao je Smith.

Tornada na sjevernoj hemisferi obično se okreću ciklonalno ili suprotno od kazaljke na satu, ali ovaj novi tornado vrtio se u smjeru kazaljke na satu.

Došlo je do smirivanja premda je stanje bilo neizvjesno - tornada su mogla ponovno krenuti.

Meteorolozi zaprepašteni oblikom i ponašanjem tornada u Oklahomi, pogledajte kako su izgledali

Snažne oluje protutnjale su dijelovima južne Oklahome ovoga utorka navečer i proizvele nekoliko tornada, uključujući jednu nevjerojatno rijetku vrstu.

Više tornada zabilježeno je istovremeno u okrugu Tillman u Oklahomi a onda se dogodilo nešto veoma čudno.

Najmanje dva tornada pokazala su vrlo neobično ponašanje: jedan snažan tornado napravio je petlju unatrag i ponovno prešao svoj prethodni put, a drugi se okrenuo se u "pogrešnom" smjeru, javlja CNN.

"Ovo sigurno ne viđate svaki dan. Čini se da su tornada nastala iz iste snažne grmljavinske oluje, rekao je za CNN Rick Smith, meteorolog iz Nacionalne meteorološke službe u Normanu, Oklahoma.

Evo kako se to odigralo.

Superćelijska grmljavinska oluja - snažna, veoma opasna vrsta oluje - oživjela je u blizini granice Oklahome i Teksasa i krenula prema istoku. Ova je oluja proizvela veliki tornado sjeverno od Lovelanda u Oklahomi nešto prije 22 sata.

Radarske slike pokazuju kako tornado kreće na istok prije nego što je znatno usporio, skrenuo prema sjeveru, zatim prema zapadu i prešao preko mjesta gdje je upravo udario.

Oluje se općenito kreću od zapada prema istoku, ali snažna tornada ponekad se mogu okrenuti natrag prema zapadu jer gube snagu, prema Smithu. Ono što je mnogo neobičnije u ovoj situaciji je da je tornado načinio punu petlju preko vlastite putanje.

Tornado EF5 koji je desetkovao grad Greensburg u Kansasu u svibnju 2007. možda je najrazorniji primjer takve kružne putanje.

Spiralni tornado u utorak navečer oslabio je dok je dovršavao svoju piruetu u blizini Lovelanda, ali tada se pojavio novi problem: novi, snažni anticiklonalni tornado pojavio se na južnom rubu iste oluje. Vjerojatno su ova dva tornada bila kratko aktivna u isto vrijeme, rekao je Smith.

Tornada na sjevernoj hemisferi obično se okreću ciklonalno ili suprotno od kazaljke na satu, ali ovaj novi tornado vrtio se u smjeru kazaljke na satu.

Došlo je do smirivanja premda je stanje bilo neizvjesno - tornada su mogla ponovno krenuti.
