Utrka s (jesenskim) vremenom u Ukrajini je odavno počela: general Mark Milley, predsjednik Združenog stožera američke vojske, izjavio je jučer da je Kijevu preostalo nešto više od 30 dana borbe prije nego što vremenske prilike ometu njihovu protuofenzivu. Nijedan drugi Amerikanac nije dublje involviran u ukrajinski rat od njega pa mu valja vjerovati, pošto mu svaki dan obično počinje operativnim brifinzima s zapovjednikom ukrajinskih oružanih snaga, generalom Valerijem Zalužnjim.

Posljednjih 100 dana ukrajinske trupe pucale su topništvom neodrživom brzinom, dok su pokušavale probiti debelo utvrđene ruske bojišnice. Ukrajinska ofenziva, u čijem je planiranju itekako pomogao Milley, naišla je na jači otpor od očekivanog. Razlika između rata u planovima i rata u praksi još jednom je došla do izražaja. Milley je realist, premda vojska Kijeva postupno napreduje svaki dan.
Svjestan je da na dnevnoj bazi to uzima masovne žrtve. Na pitanje koliko još sporog i upornog napredovanja Ukrajinci mogu izdržati, on odgovara kako ‘nitko ne zna krajnje granice izdržljivosti ovoga pokolja, i to se odnosi na obje strane‘.

Ukrajina više i ne krije da joj je cilj do fatalnih jesenskih kiša doći do raskrižja grada Melitopolja, odakle bi bili u poziciji presjeći teritorij pod ruskom okupacijom na dva dijela. Listopad će silom vremenskih nepogoda označiti kraj još jednog ratnog poluvremena, pošto će ravničarsko ukrajinsko tlo učiniti mekim i nemogućim za zemaljske manevre. Koliko god se ukrajinsko vodstvo zaklinje kako će se i u takvim uvjetima nastaviti grčevito boriti, svaki vojnik zna da će zimu zaraćene strane provesti tamo dokle ih vojničke čizme i tenkovske gusjenice u narednih mjesec dana dovedu.

---Zato i jest iščekivanje 31 obnovljenog američkog tenka M1 Abrams u Ukrajini ovih dana doseglo svoj krešendo. Prvi sraz američkog i ruskog tenka na ukrajinskog bojišnici po najavama portala Politico se trebao desiti već sredinom rujna, no produljenje rokova reparacije i nadogradnje bivših gusjeničara Pentagona kompenzirano je nedavno još kojim tjednom produljene obuke njihovih budućih posada.
Oko 200 ukrajinskih vojnika nastavit će usavršavati svoje vještine u upravljanju i popravljanju tenkova još barem desetak dana u američkim bazama u Njemačkoj, objavio je nedavno Glas Amerike citat glasnogovornika Zapovjedništva američke vojske za Europu i Afriku pukovnika Martina O‘Donnella. Ulazak Abramsa na ukrajinsko bojno polje očito mora biti savršeno isplaniran i ne smije riskirati s masovnijim početnim neuspjesima.

Abrams se smatra jednim od najboljih tenkova na svijetu. Riječ je o nevjerojatnom glavnom borbenom tenku koji može podnijeti mnoge udarce, bilo da su od neprijateljske vatre ili od majke prirode, i rutinski nastaviti dalje.
Iskazao se diljem raznih ratišta, od Iraka pa do Sirije. Ukrajinske trupe u beskrajnim poljoprivrednim ravnicama, šumama i u gradovima oplemenio bi mogućnošću da s pješaštvom osvoji i zadrži uvjerljivu kontrolu nad brojnim strateškim pozicijama.
Plan ukrajinskih stratega je bio gurnuti Abramse u kombinaciju s drugim zapadnim tenkovima, poput britanskog Challengera 2 i Leoparda 2s. Sinergija ovih strojeva u takvom rasporedu čini se optimalnom, jer su se Leopardi i Challengeri također pokazali učinkovitima i otpornima. U usporedbi s drugim oklopnim oružjem koje je Ukrajina izgubila tijekom tromjesečnih ofenzivnih napora, bilo je prilično malo Challengera i Leoparda uklonjenih s bojnog polja.

Međutim, aktualna odgoda njihova izlaska na front od čak nekoliko tjedana mogla bi imati prilično neslavan finale u odnosu na ono što Ukrajina želi i može postići s Abramsom.
Nastupi li nešto ranije kišna sezona, s blatom koje curi i do nepokretnosti okiva teške gusjeničare, američki Ambramsi M1A2 mogli bi imati vrlo kompromitantnu ukrajisnku premijeru. Bez obzira na diskutabilnost očekivanja da ikakav, pa i najnapredniji model 31 tenka, može napraviti frapantno veliku razliku u ofenzivi rastegnutoj na više od tisuću kilometara bojišnice.

Posljednjih 100 dana ukrajinske trupe pucale su topništvom neodrživom brzinom, dok su pokušavale probiti debelo utvrđene ruske bojišnice. Ukrajinska ofenziva, u čijem je planiranju itekako pomogao Milley, naišla je na jači otpor od očekivanog. Razlika između rata u planovima i rata u praksi još jednom je došla do izražaja. Milley je realist, premda vojska Kijeva postupno napreduje svaki dan.
Svjestan je da na dnevnoj bazi to uzima masovne žrtve. Na pitanje koliko još sporog i upornog napredovanja Ukrajinci mogu izdržati, on odgovara kako ‘nitko ne zna krajnje granice izdržljivosti ovoga pokolja, i to se odnosi na obje strane‘.

Ukrajina više i ne krije da joj je cilj do fatalnih jesenskih kiša doći do raskrižja grada Melitopolja, odakle bi bili u poziciji presjeći teritorij pod ruskom okupacijom na dva dijela. Listopad će silom vremenskih nepogoda označiti kraj još jednog ratnog poluvremena, pošto će ravničarsko ukrajinsko tlo učiniti mekim i nemogućim za zemaljske manevre. Koliko god se ukrajinsko vodstvo zaklinje kako će se i u takvim uvjetima nastaviti grčevito boriti, svaki vojnik zna da će zimu zaraćene strane provesti tamo dokle ih vojničke čizme i tenkovske gusjenice u narednih mjesec dana dovedu.

---Zato i jest iščekivanje 31 obnovljenog američkog tenka M1 Abrams u Ukrajini ovih dana doseglo svoj krešendo. Prvi sraz američkog i ruskog tenka na ukrajinskog bojišnici po najavama portala Politico se trebao desiti već sredinom rujna, no produljenje rokova reparacije i nadogradnje bivših gusjeničara Pentagona kompenzirano je nedavno još kojim tjednom produljene obuke njihovih budućih posada.
Oko 200 ukrajinskih vojnika nastavit će usavršavati svoje vještine u upravljanju i popravljanju tenkova još barem desetak dana u američkim bazama u Njemačkoj, objavio je nedavno Glas Amerike citat glasnogovornika Zapovjedništva američke vojske za Europu i Afriku pukovnika Martina O‘Donnella. Ulazak Abramsa na ukrajinsko bojno polje očito mora biti savršeno isplaniran i ne smije riskirati s masovnijim početnim neuspjesima.

Abrams se smatra jednim od najboljih tenkova na svijetu. Riječ je o nevjerojatnom glavnom borbenom tenku koji može podnijeti mnoge udarce, bilo da su od neprijateljske vatre ili od majke prirode, i rutinski nastaviti dalje.
Iskazao se diljem raznih ratišta, od Iraka pa do Sirije. Ukrajinske trupe u beskrajnim poljoprivrednim ravnicama, šumama i u gradovima oplemenio bi mogućnošću da s pješaštvom osvoji i zadrži uvjerljivu kontrolu nad brojnim strateškim pozicijama.
Plan ukrajinskih stratega je bio gurnuti Abramse u kombinaciju s drugim zapadnim tenkovima, poput britanskog Challengera 2 i Leoparda 2s. Sinergija ovih strojeva u takvom rasporedu čini se optimalnom, jer su se Leopardi i Challengeri također pokazali učinkovitima i otpornima. U usporedbi s drugim oklopnim oružjem koje je Ukrajina izgubila tijekom tromjesečnih ofenzivnih napora, bilo je prilično malo Challengera i Leoparda uklonjenih s bojnog polja.

Međutim, aktualna odgoda njihova izlaska na front od čak nekoliko tjedana mogla bi imati prilično neslavan finale u odnosu na ono što Ukrajina želi i može postići s Abramsom.
Nastupi li nešto ranije kišna sezona, s blatom koje curi i do nepokretnosti okiva teške gusjeničare, američki Ambramsi M1A2 mogli bi imati vrlo kompromitantnu ukrajisnku premijeru. Bez obzira na diskutabilnost očekivanja da ikakav, pa i najnapredniji model 31 tenka, može napraviti frapantno veliku razliku u ofenzivi rastegnutoj na više od tisuću kilometara bojišnice.
