Američko ratno zrakoplovstvo ovaj je tjedan po prvi put s naše strane oceana testiralo sustav Rapid Dragon, u kojem se rakete na paletama lansiraju sa stražnje strane teretnog zrakoplova. Zrakoplov američkih zračnih snaga MC-130J Commando II namijenjen za specijalne operacije, lansirao je krstareću raketu produženog dometa AGM-158B Joint-Surface Standoff Missile, ili JASSM-ER u Norveškoj, iznad Arktičkog kruga. To je prva demonstracija u Europi, a funkcionira tako da se padobranom izbacuje kavez s raketama. Kad se stabilizira, otvara se, a projektili lete prema svojoj meti u daljini. Norveško testiranje usklađeno je s vježbama u Poljskoj i Rumunjskoj, a sve je to dio programa Atreus američkog Europskog zapovjedništva, čiji je cilj proširiti vojne opcije za saveznike.

Dean Evans, voditelj programa Rapid Dragon rekao je kako uspješno testiranje pokazuje koliko brzo program napreduje, napominjući da je u nešto dulje od dvije godine prešao s koncepta na papiru na test ispaljivanja vatre.

“To ovu stvar stavlja u domet Rusije. Namjerno pokušavamo biti provokativni, a da ne eskaliramo. Pokušavamo odvratiti rusku agresiju i ekspanzionističko ponašanje, pokazujući poboljšane sposobnosti saveznika - izjavio je potpukovnik Zapovjedništva specijalnih operacija Europe Lawrence Melnicoff.

Opremanje teretnih ratnih zrakoplova naoružanjem za odvraćanje naslaganim na palete i spremnim za lansiranje na neprijateljske položaje iz zraka "en masse" kudikamo je jeftinija opcija od stavljanja u pogon novih bombardera u zrak, što Rapid Dragon koncept čini još atraktivnijom opcijom. Sam sustav Rapid Dragon je modularan, što znači da se projektili na palete mogu slagati u skupinama od šest ili devet komada, ovisno o tipu transportnog zrakoplova na koji se ukrcavaju. Kada se kutija okrene okomito ona ispušta JASSM-ER projektil prema dolje. U roku od nekoliko sekundi, krila i rep projektila se otvaraju, a motor se uključuje, ostavljajući trag za sobom. Dulji video testa koji je objavio Pentagon pokazao je kako je krstareća raketa putovala iznad mora oko 2 minute prije nego što je detonirala.

„Ovakve su operacije povezane s planiranjem najgoreg mogućeg scenarija u slučaju da Rusija gađa saveznička vojna središta u Europi, pojasnio je Melnicoff.

General pukovnik Jim Slife, šef Zapovjedništva za specijalne operacije američkih zračnih snaga, rekao je da je eksperimentiranje s novim načinima napada na mete ključno za pripremu za nepredvidivu budućnost.

"Najveća vrijednost AFSOC-a za zajedničke snage, kao i saveznike i partnere, je kada pronađemo nekonvencionalne načine za isporuku zračne moći. Budućnost će biti drugačija od onoga što smo iskusili u posljednjih 20 godina", rekao je Slife.

Program do sada bio usredotočen na kinetičko streljivo, ali sada usmjerava pozornost na dodavanje "učinaka paleta". Ti učinci uključuju platforme za obavještavanje, nadzor i izviđanje, opskrbu tereta i dostavu humanitarne pomoći. Zračne snage se nadaju da će ovaj koncept omogućiti SAD-u i njegovim saveznicima da teretne zrakoplove pretvore u teško naoružane kamione s bombama koji mogu napadati neprijatelje na sigurnoj udaljenosti, dajući zapovjednicima borbenih snaga više mogućnosti za isporuku vatrene moći.

Američko ratno zrakoplovstvo ovaj je tjedan po prvi put s naše strane oceana testiralo sustav Rapid Dragon, u kojem se rakete na paletama lansiraju sa stražnje strane teretnog zrakoplova. Zrakoplov američkih zračnih snaga MC-130J Commando II namijenjen za specijalne operacije, lansirao je krstareću raketu produženog dometa AGM-158B Joint-Surface Standoff Missile, ili JASSM-ER u Norveškoj, iznad Arktičkog kruga. To je prva demonstracija u Europi, a funkcionira tako da se padobranom izbacuje kavez s raketama. Kad se stabilizira, otvara se, a projektili lete prema svojoj meti u daljini. Norveško testiranje usklađeno je s vježbama u Poljskoj i Rumunjskoj, a sve je to dio programa Atreus američkog Europskog zapovjedništva, čiji je cilj proširiti vojne opcije za saveznike.

Dean Evans, voditelj programa Rapid Dragon rekao je kako uspješno testiranje pokazuje koliko brzo program napreduje, napominjući da je u nešto dulje od dvije godine prešao s koncepta na papiru na test ispaljivanja vatre.

“To ovu stvar stavlja u domet Rusije. Namjerno pokušavamo biti provokativni, a da ne eskaliramo. Pokušavamo odvratiti rusku agresiju i ekspanzionističko ponašanje, pokazujući poboljšane sposobnosti saveznika - izjavio je potpukovnik Zapovjedništva specijalnih operacija Europe Lawrence Melnicoff.

Opremanje teretnih ratnih zrakoplova naoružanjem za odvraćanje naslaganim na palete i spremnim za lansiranje na neprijateljske položaje iz zraka "en masse" kudikamo je jeftinija opcija od stavljanja u pogon novih bombardera u zrak, što Rapid Dragon koncept čini još atraktivnijom opcijom. Sam sustav Rapid Dragon je modularan, što znači da se projektili na palete mogu slagati u skupinama od šest ili devet komada, ovisno o tipu transportnog zrakoplova na koji se ukrcavaju. Kada se kutija okrene okomito ona ispušta JASSM-ER projektil prema dolje. U roku od nekoliko sekundi, krila i rep projektila se otvaraju, a motor se uključuje, ostavljajući trag za sobom. Dulji video testa koji je objavio Pentagon pokazao je kako je krstareća raketa putovala iznad mora oko 2 minute prije nego što je detonirala.

„Ovakve su operacije povezane s planiranjem najgoreg mogućeg scenarija u slučaju da Rusija gađa saveznička vojna središta u Europi, pojasnio je Melnicoff.

General pukovnik Jim Slife, šef Zapovjedništva za specijalne operacije američkih zračnih snaga, rekao je da je eksperimentiranje s novim načinima napada na mete ključno za pripremu za nepredvidivu budućnost.

"Najveća vrijednost AFSOC-a za zajedničke snage, kao i saveznike i partnere, je kada pronađemo nekonvencionalne načine za isporuku zračne moći. Budućnost će biti drugačija od onoga što smo iskusili u posljednjih 20 godina", rekao je Slife.

Program do sada bio usredotočen na kinetičko streljivo, ali sada usmjerava pozornost na dodavanje "učinaka paleta". Ti učinci uključuju platforme za obavještavanje, nadzor i izviđanje, opskrbu tereta i dostavu humanitarne pomoći. Zračne snage se nadaju da će ovaj koncept omogućiti SAD-u i njegovim saveznicima da teretne zrakoplove pretvore u teško naoružane kamione s bombama koji mogu napadati neprijatelje na sigurnoj udaljenosti, dajući zapovjednicima borbenih snaga više mogućnosti za isporuku vatrene moći.

Američko ratno zrakoplovstvo ovaj je tjedan po prvi put s naše strane oceana testiralo sustav Rapid Dragon, u kojem se rakete na paletama lansiraju sa stražnje strane teretnog zrakoplova. Zrakoplov američkih zračnih snaga MC-130J Commando II namijenjen za specijalne operacije, lansirao je krstareću raketu produženog dometa AGM-158B Joint-Surface Standoff Missile, ili JASSM-ER u Norveškoj, iznad Arktičkog kruga. To je prva demonstracija u Europi, a funkcionira tako da se padobranom izbacuje kavez s raketama. Kad se stabilizira, otvara se, a projektili lete prema svojoj meti u daljini.
