O pojavi novog soja koronavirusa, omikrona, jutros su u emisiji HRT-a "U mreži Prvog" govorili Marijo Parčina, epidemiolog i mikrobiolog iz Sveučilišne bolnice u Bonnu i epidemiologinja iz HZJZ-a Dijana Mayer.
Parčina je rekao da kod omikrona postoji velik broj mutacija koji nas može zabrinuti - od njih 50, 32 se nalaze na tzv. proteinu šiljka.
- Postoje izvještaji iz JAR-a koji govore da se soj relativno lako prenosi, da inficira uglavnom mlade ljude, da su kliničke slike relativno blage, ali mi to ne možemo prenijeti jedan na jedan na našu epidemiološku situaciju, rekao je Parčina, istaknuvši među ostalim da je populacija različita, da je procijepljenost u JAR-u 20 posto te da postoje i klimatske razlike.
- Mi se sada omikrona iskreno ne bojimo. Politički, stvorilo je to određene pomutnje, ali strogo smo uvjerenja, epidemiološki, mikrobiološki, virološki, da jednostavno za omikron postoji enormno teška situacija da se dobro može postaviti u Europi. Prvo, radi vremenskih uvjeta, drugo, radi temporalnih uvjeta epidemije u kojoj se definitivno sad nalazimo, rekao je Parčina.
Mayer je rekla da kod omikrona najviše zabrinjava velik broj mutacija.
- Rekla bih samo - da smo imali veću procijepljenost, ne samo mi, nego i u svijetu, da je procijepljenost bila veća, vrlo vjerojatno do tih mutacija ne bi došlo jer se virus ne bi imao gdje širiti i ne bi imao prostora za mutacije, izjavila je Mayer.
- Omikron, možemo se nadati, stvarno može biti slabija varijanta, moguće je, kako tvrde neki znanstvenici, da će vjerojatno sam sebe uništiti, pobiti... To je premalo vremena da bismo o tome još mogli govoriti, dodala je.
Mayer je rekla da će se raditi novo cjepivo, ali da za to treba vremena, potrebne su i kliničke studije, nakon kojih ide faza odobrenja.
- To je prije pola godine, šest mjeseci, vrlo teško, da bismo mogli imati, dodala je.
Rekla je i da je prošlo premalo vremena da bismo zaključili hoće li omikron utjecati na povećanje broja hospitalizacija ili smrtnost.
- Žao mi je, ali, vjerojatno, da je bila procijepljenost veća, ne bi do omikrona ni došlo, poručila je.
- Omikron se pojavio, možemo se nadati da će biti blag, ali to za sada ne možemo znati. Cijepljenje nam je jedini spas, rekla je Mayer za HRT.

O pojavi novog soja koronavirusa, omikrona, jutros su u emisiji HRT-a "U mreži Prvog" govorili Marijo Parčina, epidemiolog i mikrobiolog iz Sveučilišne bolnice u Bonnu i epidemiologinja iz HZJZ-a Dijana Mayer.
Parčina je rekao da kod omikrona postoji velik broj mutacija koji nas može zabrinuti - od njih 50, 32 se nalaze na tzv. proteinu šiljka.
- Postoje izvještaji iz JAR-a koji govore da se soj relativno lako prenosi, da inficira uglavnom mlade ljude, da su kliničke slike relativno blage, ali mi to ne možemo prenijeti jedan na jedan na našu epidemiološku situaciju, rekao je Parčina, istaknuvši među ostalim da je populacija različita, da je procijepljenost u JAR-u 20 posto te da postoje i klimatske razlike.
- Mi se sada omikrona iskreno ne bojimo. Politički, stvorilo je to određene pomutnje, ali strogo smo uvjerenja, epidemiološki, mikrobiološki, virološki, da jednostavno za omikron postoji enormno teška situacija da se dobro može postaviti u Europi. Prvo, radi vremenskih uvjeta, drugo, radi temporalnih uvjeta epidemije u kojoj se definitivno sad nalazimo, rekao je Parčina.
Mayer je rekla da kod omikrona najviše zabrinjava velik broj mutacija.
- Rekla bih samo - da smo imali veću procijepljenost, ne samo mi, nego i u svijetu, da je procijepljenost bila veća, vrlo vjerojatno do tih mutacija ne bi došlo jer se virus ne bi imao gdje širiti i ne bi imao prostora za mutacije, izjavila je Mayer.
- Omikron, možemo se nadati, stvarno može biti slabija varijanta, moguće je, kako tvrde neki znanstvenici, da će vjerojatno sam sebe uništiti, pobiti... To je premalo vremena da bismo o tome još mogli govoriti, dodala je.
Mayer je rekla da će se raditi novo cjepivo, ali da za to treba vremena, potrebne su i kliničke studije, nakon kojih ide faza odobrenja.
- To je prije pola godine, šest mjeseci, vrlo teško, da bismo mogli imati, dodala je.
Rekla je i da je prošlo premalo vremena da bismo zaključili hoće li omikron utjecati na povećanje broja hospitalizacija ili smrtnost.
- Žao mi je, ali, vjerojatno, da je bila procijepljenost veća, ne bi do omikrona ni došlo, poručila je.
- Omikron se pojavio, možemo se nadati da će biti blag, ali to za sada ne možemo znati. Cijepljenje nam je jedini spas, rekla je Mayer za HRT.
