Udri po njoj! Točnije "tupkaj". Ako odzvanja dobra je, puna je vode. Sočna. Govorimo naravno o simbolu ljeta – lubenici! Koja je kao i – pivo. Najgora kada je topla. A, onako mrzla iz hladnjaka predstavlja idealno osvježenje za vrele dane koji su pred nama. Pazite samo da nije prehladna, jer, u slučaju obilnijeg zagriza boljet će zubi.

I to bi mogla biti jedina šteta od jedenja lubenice. I naravnog, nešto češćeg odlaska na WC. Što je zapravo i dobro. Ali, prije zdravstvenih benefita, hajdemo konačno demistificirati kako odabrati onu najbolju. Na stranu i uvod u tekst, postoji nekoliko pravila s kojima, budemo li ih pratili, nećemo pogriješiti.

Obratite pažnju i na peteljku: ako je suha, lubenica je zrela. Ako je zelena, prerano je ubrana i da vjerojatno nije dovoljno slatka.

Bogata hranjivim tvarima

Sve ove radnje, u potrazi za savršen im ljetnim osvježenjem, možete napraviti u najbližoj Tommy trgovini. Svaka od njih je dobro opskrbljena domaćim lubenicama od kojih će svaka zadovoljiti niže navedene parametre. Na vama je samo da se pobrinete kako je transportirati kući.

I što je transportirati – bobicu od 10-ak kilograma? Da, dobro ste čuli, lubenica je bobica čija je definicija "mesnato voće koje ima više od jedne koštice", a spada u porodicu tikvovki.

Sada, kada smo utvrdili što je, hajdemo odgovoriti zašto ju je dobro jesti. Osim okusa, teksture i osjećaja osvježenja koje nam pruža, lubenica je bogata hranjivim tvarima kao što su vitamin C, folati, magnezij i kalcij. Sadrži i likopen koji je vrsta karotenoida, odnosno crveni/narančasti/žuti biljni pigmenti s antioksidativnim i protuupalnim svojstvima. Naravno, za crvenilo svojeg voćnog mesa, lubenica ima zahvaliti se upravo likopenu.

Također, bogata je antioksidansima koji nam pomažu u borbi protiv raznih upala, kao i u smanjenju rizika od kroničnih bolesti kao što je, primjerice, dijabetes ili karcinomi. Uz to što savršeno rashlađuje, lubenica predstavlja ukusnu i zdravu užinu, ali i vrlo dijetalnu namirnicu. Zamislite, na 100 grama ima svega 30 kalorija.

Možda nije previše kalorijski bogata, ali lubenica zato obiluje aminokiselinom citrulin koja je potrebna za stvaranje dušikovog oksida koji je vazodilatator. Odnosno širi krvne žile osiguravajući da krv bogata kisikom može doći do vašeg srca. Zapravo, redovito jedenje lubenice može podržati zdravlje srca i krvnih žila, baš zbog citrulina.

Likopen također pomaže i kod zdravlja očiju, odnosno može i spriječiti ili odgoditi stvaranje katarakte te smanjiti rizik od makularne degeneracije.

Udri po njoj! Točnije "tupkaj". Ako odzvanja dobra je, puna je vode. Sočna. Govorimo naravno o simbolu ljeta – lubenici! Koja je kao i – pivo. Najgora kada je topla. A, onako mrzla iz hladnjaka predstavlja idealno osvježenje za vrele dane koji su pred nama. Pazite samo da nije prehladna, jer, u slučaju obilnijeg zagriza boljet će zubi.

I to bi mogla biti jedina šteta od jedenja lubenice. I naravnog, nešto češćeg odlaska na WC. Što je zapravo i dobro. Ali, prije zdravstvenih benefita, hajdemo konačno demistificirati kako odabrati onu najbolju. Na stranu i uvod u tekst, postoji nekoliko pravila s kojima, budemo li ih pratili, nećemo pogriješiti.

Naime, u pućeni tvrde da se 'tajna' krije u mračnoj strani lubenice, onoj koja se, dok plod raste, nalazi uz samu zemlju. Ta neosunčana strana će vam otkriti je li lubenica zrela: što je taj dio tamniji i žući, to je vaš odabir bolji. Također, nemojte tragati za savršenstvom i birati lubenice čija je kora najglađa a šare su im najpravilnije: baš one koje imaju smećkaste mrljice i udubine bit će najukusnije, jer je to znak da su pčele više puta posjećivale oprašeni cvijet.

Što se spola tiče (da postoje muške i ženske lubenice), one koje su izdužene su muške i vodenastije, dok su okrugle ženske i slađe su. Što se veličine tiče, i ona je bitna. Idealna lubenica ne bi trebala biti prevelika, ali ni previše mala. Također, trebalo da bi da djeluje teško za svoju veličinu, a taj dojam dobit ćete kad je podignete pa se iznenadite koliko 'piza'. Obratite pažnju i na peteljku: ako je suha, lubenica je zrela. Ako je zelena, prerano je ubrana i da vjerojatno nije dovoljno slatka.

Bogata hranjivim tvarima
