Twiggy je prvo od velikih manekenskih imena, britanska modna ikona i sinonim za lude 60-te, poznata po svojoj vitkoj liniji, upečatljivom make-upu, iscrtanim donjim trepavicama i kratkoj pixie frizuri.

U nedavnom podcastu Table Manners s Jassie Ware ispričala je o početcima svoje manekenke karijere pa i o tome kako je došlo do njene planetarno popularne frizure.

Imala je 16 godina i još uvijek se zvala samo Lasley Lawson kada je otišla u poznati londonski frizerski salon Mayfair na uobičajeno feniranje. Leonard Lewis, frizerska zvijezda, čim ju je ugledao ponudio joj je da se vrati sutra u salon kako bi na njoj isprobao novu frizuru.

On se za intervju u Dazed magazinu prisjetio kako je ona nesigurno kimnula jer je kao i mnoge druge djevojke njenih godina puštala dugu kosu. Ispričao je da je u jednom trenutku izgledala kao da će briznuti u plač, ali on je znao da će kratka kosa dječačkog izgleda na njoj izgledati fantastično u kombinaciji s njenim ženstvenim dugim vratom i velikim očima.

Twiggy je povjerila da je jedini razlog zašto je tada pristala na šišanje, što je bila suviše stidljiva da bi odbila prijedlog u tako “posh” salonu i priznala da je htjela zadržati svoju frizuru.

Nakon sedam sati šišanja i bojenja stvorena je Twiggy, ikona šezdesetih kakvu je danas poznajemo. Fotograf Batty Lategen fotografirao ju je, a slike su postavljene u izlog salona gdje ih je vidjela modna novinarka. S njom je napravila intervju i objavila je u Daily Expressu nazivajući je licem ’66. godine.

Već ranije je ispričala kako je nadimak dobila od brata svog dečka, twiggy na engleskom znači tanka kao grančica i zbog toga ga je u početku mrzila. Za sebe nije mislila da bi mogla biti manekenka jer je smatrala da nije dovoljno visoka, dok su modeli uglavnom visine iznad 1,75, ona je imala tek 168 centimetara, a nije ni dolazila iz bogate ili poznate obitelji.

Do tada je išla u strogu školu u kojoj su se nosile uniforme, a šminkanje je bilo najstrože zabranjeno. Skupa s prijateljicama zato je jedva čekala izlaske vikendima da nadomjeste sve one dane kada nisu smjele nositi šminku i tada je počela eksperimentirati s crtanjem donjih trepavica koje su je također kasnije proslavile.

Twiggy je prvo od velikih manekenskih imena, britanska modna ikona i sinonim za lude 60-te, poznata po svojoj vitkoj liniji, upečatljivom make-upu, iscrtanim donjim trepavicama i kratkoj pixie frizuri.

U nedavnom podcastu Table Manners s Jassie Ware ispričala je o početcima svoje manekenke karijere pa i o tome kako je došlo do njene planetarno popularne frizure.

Imala je 16 godina i još uvijek se zvala samo Lasley Lawson kada je otišla u poznati londonski frizerski salon Mayfair na uobičajeno feniranje. Leonard Lewis, frizerska zvijezda, čim ju je ugledao ponudio joj je da se vrati sutra u salon kako bi na njoj isprobao novu frizuru.

On se za intervju u Dazed magazinu prisjetio kako je ona nesigurno kimnula jer je kao i mnoge druge djevojke njenih godina puštala dugu kosu. Ispričao je da je u jednom trenutku izgledala kao da će briznuti u plač, ali on je znao da će kratka kosa dječačkog izgleda na njoj izgledati fantastično u kombinaciji s njenim ženstvenim dugim vratom i velikim očima.

Twiggy je povjerila da je jedini razlog zašto je tada pristala na šišanje, što je bila suviše stidljiva da bi odbila prijedlog u tako “posh” salonu i priznala da je htjela zadržati svoju frizuru.

Nakon sedam sati šišanja i bojenja stvorena je Twiggy, ikona šezdesetih kakvu je danas poznajemo. Fotograf Batty Lategen fotografirao ju je, a slike su postavljene u izlog salona gdje ih je vidjela modna novinarka. S njom je napravila intervju i objavila je u Daily Expressu nazivajući je licem ’66. godine.

Već ranije je ispričala kako je nadimak dobila od brata svog dečka, twiggy na engleskom znači tanka kao grančica i zbog toga ga je u početku mrzila. Za sebe nije mislila da bi mogla biti manekenka jer je smatrala da nije dovoljno visoka, dok su modeli uglavnom visine iznad 1,75, ona je imala tek 168 centimetara, a nije ni dolazila iz bogate ili poznate obitelji.

Do tada je išla u strogu školu u kojoj su se nosile uniforme, a šminkanje je bilo najstrože zabranjeno. Skupa s prijateljicama zato je jedva čekala izlaske vikendima da nadomjeste sve one dane kada nisu smjele nositi šminku i tada je počela eksperimentirati s crtanjem donjih trepavica koje su je također kasnije proslavile.

‘Frizura desetljeća‘ nastala je sasvim slučajno: britanska ikona Twiggy prije šišanja bila je na rubu suza, a na kraju ju je baš to proslavilo

Twiggy je prvo od velikih manekenskih imena, britanska modna ikona i sinonim za lude 60-te, poznata po svojoj vitkoj liniji, upečatljivom make-upu, iscrtanim donjim trepavicama i kratkoj pixie frizuri.

U nedavnom podcastu Table Manners s Jassie Ware ispričala je o početcima svoje manekenke karijere pa i o tome kako je došlo do njene planetarno popularne frizure.

Imala je 16 godina i još uvijek se zvala samo Lasley Lawson kada je otišla u poznati londonski frizerski salon Mayfair na uobičajeno feniranje. Leonard Lewis, frizerska zvijezda, čim ju je ugledao ponudio joj je da se vrati sutra u salon kako bi na njoj isprobao novu frizuru.

On se za intervju u Dazed magazinu prisjetio kako je ona nesigurno kimnula jer je kao i mnoge druge djevojke njenih godina puštala dugu kosu. Ispričao je da je u jednom trenutku izgledala kao da će briznuti u plač, ali on je znao da će kratka kosa dječačkog izgleda na njoj izgledati fantastično u kombinaciji s njenim ženstvenim dugim vratom i velikim očima.

Twiggy je povjerila da je jedini razlog zašto je tada pristala na šišanje, što je bila suviše stidljiva da bi odbila prijedlog u tako “posh” salonu i priznala da je htjela zadržati svoju frizuru.

Nakon sedam sati šišanja i bojenja stvorena je Twiggy, ikona šezdesetih kakvu je danas poznajemo. Fotograf Batty Lategen fotografirao ju je, a slike su postavljene u izlog salona gdje ih je vidjela modna novinarka. S njom je napravila intervju i objavila je u Daily Expressu nazivajući je licem ’66. godine.

Već ranije je ispričala kako je nadimak dobila od brata svog dečka, twiggy na engleskom znači tanka kao grančica i zbog toga ga je u početku mrzila. Za sebe nije mislila da bi mogla biti manekenka jer je smatrala da nije dovoljno visoka, dok su modeli uglavnom visine iznad 1,75, ona je imala tek 168 centimetara, a nije ni dolazila iz bogate ili poznate obitelji.

Do tada je išla u strogu školu u kojoj su se nosile uniforme, a šminkanje je bilo najstrože zabranjeno. Skupa s prijateljicama zato je jedva čekala izlaske vikendima da nadomjeste sve one dane kada nisu smjele nositi šminku i tada je počela eksperimentirati s crtanjem donjih trepavica koje su je također kasnije proslavile.
