Najbolja hrvatska tenisačica Petra Martić (WTA - 47.) plasirala se u osminu finala WTA 1000 turnira u Rimu, gdje je u srijedu sa 6-2, 6-3 svladala petu tenisačicu svijeta Estonku Anett Kontaveit, a za pobjedu je trebala 81. minuti.

Bio je to njihov treći međusobni dvoboj i druga pobjeda Dućanke koja u Rimu brani prošlogodišnje polufinale. Na tom putu će joj sljedeća suparnica biti bolja iz dvoboja Kanađanke Biance Andreescu (WTA - 90.) i Španjolke Nurije Parrizas-Diaz (WTA - 51.).

Za svoju petu pobjedu u karijeri nad Top 10 igračicom, a prvu nakon Roland Garrosa 2019., gdje je na putu do četvrtfinala svladala tada drugu tenisačicu svijeta Čehinju Karolinu Pliškovu, 31-godišnja Martić je iskoristila čak sedam od 11 prilika za 'break', tako da je 26-godišnja Estonka u cijelom meču samo dvaput uspjela osvojiti gem na početnom udarcu, po jednom u prvom i drugom setu.

Kontaveit je bolje ušla u meč i povela 2-0, ali je Martić odmah uzvratila 'breakom', što je bio početak niza od šest uzastopnih gemova koji su joj nakon 36 minuta igre donijeli prvi set.

U početna dva gema drugog seta obje su tenisačice spasile po jednu break-loptu, nakon čega je uslijedio niz od pet gemova u kojem su jedna drugoj oduzimale servis. Martić je prekinula taj trend osvojivši gem za vodstvo 5-3 da bi na prvu meč-loptu, nakon jednog od brojnih promašaja Kontaveit, došla do velike pobjede.

Martić se tijekom cijelog meča odlično branila, a sjajno je koristila skraćene lopte na koje Estonka nije imala pravi odgovor, jer bi često griješila ili slala loptu ravno na reket hrvatske tenisačice koja bi potom poentirala. Taktički je Martić bila besprijekorna, pogotovo u prijelomnim trenucima meča, a i Kontaveit joj je pomogla s pet dvostrukih pogrešaka i realizacijom prvog servisa od samo 37%.

Najbolja hrvatska tenisačica Petra Martić (WTA - 47.) plasirala se u osminu finala WTA 1000 turnira u Rimu, gdje je u srijedu sa 6-2, 6-3 svladala petu tenisačicu svijeta Estonku Anett Kontaveit, a za pobjedu je trebala 81. minuti.

Bio je to njihov treći međusobni dvoboj i druga pobjeda Dućanke koja u Rimu brani prošlogodišnje polufinale. Na tom putu će joj sljedeća suparnica biti bolja iz dvoboja Kanađanke Biance Andreescu (WTA - 90.) i Španjolke Nurije Parrizas-Diaz (WTA - 51.).

Za svoju petu pobjedu u karijeri nad Top 10 igračicom, a prvu nakon Roland Garrosa 2019., gdje je na putu do četvrtfinala svladala tada drugu tenisačicu svijeta Čehinju Karolinu Pliškovu, 31-godišnja Martić je iskoristila čak sedam od 11 prilika za 'break', tako da je 26-godišnja Estonka u cijelom meču samo dvaput uspjela osvojiti gem na početnom udarcu, po jednom u prvom i drugom setu.

Kontaveit je bolje ušla u meč i povela 2-0, ali je Martić odmah uzvratila 'breakom', što je bio početak niza od šest uzastopnih gemova koji su joj nakon 36 minuta igre donijeli prvi set.

U početna dva gema drugog seta obje su tenisačice spasile po jednu break-loptu, nakon čega je uslijedio niz od pet gemova u kojem su jedna drugoj oduzimale servis. Martić je prekinula taj trend osvojivši gem za vodstvo 5-3 da bi na prvu meč-loptu, nakon jednog od brojnih promašaja Kontaveit, došla do velike pobjede.

Martić se tijekom cijelog meča odlično branila, a sjajno je koristila skraćene lopte na koje Estonka nije imala pravi odgovor, jer bi često griješila ili slala loptu ravno na reket hrvatske tenisačice koja bi potom poentirala. Taktički je Martić bila besprijekorna, pogotovo u prijelomnim trenucima meča, a i Kontaveit joj je pomogla s pet dvostrukih pogrešaka i realizacijom prvog servisa od samo 37%.

Velika pobjeda Petre Martić na rimskom Mastersu: uvjerljivo je svladala petu tenisačicu svijeta

Najbolja hrvatska tenisačica Petra Martić (WTA - 47.) plasirala se u osminu finala WTA 1000 turnira u Rimu, gdje je u srijedu sa 6-2, 6-3 svladala petu tenisačicu svijeta Estonku Anett Kontaveit, a za pobjedu je trebala 81. minuti.

Bio je to njihov treći međusobni dvoboj i druga pobjeda Dućanke koja u Rimu brani prošlogodišnje polufinale. Na tom putu će joj sljedeća suparnica biti bolja iz dvoboja Kanađanke Biance Andreescu (WTA - 90.) i Španjolke Nurije Parrizas-Diaz (WTA - 51.).

Za svoju petu pobjedu u karijeri nad Top 10 igračicom, a prvu nakon Roland Garrosa 2019., gdje je na putu do četvrtfinala svladala tada drugu tenisačicu svijeta Čehinju Karolinu Pliškovu, 31-godišnja Martić je iskoristila čak sedam od 11 prilika za 'break', tako da je 26-godišnja Estonka u...
