Nastavlja se oluja unutar Standarda iz Liegea, kluba kojeg trenira Ivan Leko. Belgijskom velikanu izrečena je privremena zabrana transfera, a igračima, osoblju i stožeru je rečeno da nije poznato kada će biti plaćeni. "Neizvjesnost je najteža za podnijeti", rekao je novinarima Leko.

Puna je bila press soba za rezultatski nebitnu utakmicu protiv Westerloa. Nijedno pitanje Leki nije bilo upućeno o susretu. Sva pozornost bila je usmjerena na katastrofalnu financijsku situaciju koja pritišće klub. "Na sastanku nam je rečeno da uprava ne zna kada ćemo primiti plaće", rekao je Leko, koji je djelovao uzrujano, pišu belgijski mediji. “Najteže se podnosi neizvjesnost. Ne samo za nas. Za ovaj klub radi šezdeset do sedamdeset ljudi. I oni također moraju staviti hranu na stol", rekao je Leko pa dodao:

“Što bih želio poručiti ljudima iz 777 Partnersa? Da su ljudi ovdje tužni. Ne znaju što će budućnost donijeti. Čitamo svašta, ali nitko ne zna što se događa. Svi traže jasnoću. Dobro je da je sezona pri kraju, ali što je s ambicijama za kasnije? Ovo je jako tužna situacija za lijep i velik klub kao što je Standard.”

Ranije danas, Standard je objavio da mu je nametnuta (privremena) zabrana transfera zbog financijskih nepravilnosti. I Ivan Leko shvaća da budućnost ne izgleda osobito ružičasto. “Došao sam ovdje s ambicijom boriti se za europska natjecanja sljedeće sezone. Da su mi rekli da se i sljedeće sezone moram boriti protiv ispadanja, ne bih došao. I ja sam zabrinut, da. Teško je koncentrirati se na ovakav nogomet. Svatko tko kaže drugačije, zavarava se.”

Ipak, Leko je uvjeren da će njegovi igrači nastaviti sezonu, čak i ako ne budu plaćeni. “Pitao sam ima li igrača koji radije ne bi više igrali. Nitko nije digao ruku”, rekao je trener. “Moramo crpiti snagu iz naše časti, našeg ponosa i prekrasnih boja ovog kluba. Da nas nitko poslije ne može nazvati prevarantima. Želimo i dalje davati sve od sebe kako bismo poslije mogli svakoga pogledati ravno u oči", rekao je Leko.
