Omiljeni sport ruskog predsjednika - džudo - dugo je bio zabranjen u Sovjetskom Savezu. Danas ruski stil ove borilačke vještine slovi za jednu od najjačih škola u svijetu.

Da nije bilo ovog čovjeka, džudo se vjerojatno nikada ne bi pojavio u Rusiji. Vasilij Oščepkov, rođen na Sahalinu, mnogo je godina proveo u Japanu, gdje je učio borilačke vještine i dostignuo prvi nivo crnog pojasa - šodan. 1914. godine se vratio u Rusiju i u Vladivostoku osnovao prvu rusku školu džuda, piše Russia Beyond.

"Otac ruskog džuda" tu se nije zaustavio. Godine 1917., tijekom posjeta Japanu, položio je ispite za drugi nivo crnog pojasa i tako postao prvi Rus i treći Europljanin koji je dobio nidan u džudu.

Vasilij Oščepkov je dao veliki doprinos širenju toga sporta. Podučavao je džudu časnike i jedinice Crvene armije. To mu baš i nije pomoglo poslije u životu: tijekom godina staljinističkih represija uhićen je kao japanski špijun te je umro u zatvoru 1938. godine.

Sovjetska vremena bila su teška za džudo u Rusiji. Krajem tridesetih godina prošlog stoljeća je proglašen "aktivnošću koja je strana sovjetskom narodu". Oščepkovljevi učenici su se prilagodili i razvili novu borilačku vještinu - sambo - koja se temeljila na džudu i bila mu vrlo slična.

Kada je u šezdesetima džudo priznat kao olimpijski sport, dobio je drugu priliku u Sovjetskom Savezu, gdje su sovjetski čelnici htjeli osvojiti još više zlatnih medalja. Zabrana džuda je ukinuta, a sljedbenici samba bili su potaknuti da se prebace na "novooslobođenu" borilačku vještinu.

Prvi rezultati su bili impresivni. Već su na ljetnim Olimpijskim igrama 1964. sovjetski sljedbenici samba, koji su bili prisiljeni okrenuti se džudu, osvojili su četiri brončane medalje.

Bilo je potrebno neko vrijeme za stvaranje sustava džuda u Sovjetskom Savezu, a Sovjetska džudaška federacija uspostavljena je tek 1972. godine. Od tada se prvenstva u džudu održavaju redovito.

Godina 1972. bila je izvanredna za sovjetski džudo i iz drugog razloga. Na ljetnim Olimpijskim igrama u Münchenu Šota Čočišvili osvojio je prvo olimpijsko zlato u džudu za Sovjetski Savez.

Pad Sovjetskog Saveza zadao je ozbiljan udarac ruskom džudu. Slavne pobjede su prestale i postale stvar prošlosti. Bez odgovarajućeg budžeta, džudaške škole za mlade su masovno zatvarane.

Danas džudo proživljava renesansu. Ruski predsjednik Vladimir Putin u tome ima veliku ulogu. Ovaj veliki obožavatelj džuda kaže da se u svom životu i radu često oslanja na filozofske principe ove japanske borilačke vještine, piše Russia Beyond.

Vasilij Oščepkov, rođen na Sahalinu, mnogo je godina proveo u Japanu, gdje je učio borilačke vještine i dostignuo prvi nivo crnog pojasa - šodan. 1914. godine se vratio u Rusiju i u Vladivostoku osnovao prvu rusku školu džuda, piše Russia Beyond.

"Otac ruskog džuda" tu se nije zaustavio. Godine 1917., tijekom posjeta Japanu, položio je ispite za drugi nivo crnog pojasa i tako postao prvi Rus i treći Europljanin koji je dobio nidan u džudu.

Vasilij Oščepkov je dao veliki doprinos širenju toga sporta. Podučavao je džudu časnike i jedinice Crvene armije. To mu baš i nije pomoglo poslije u životu: tijekom godina staljinističkih represija uhićen je kao japanski špijun te je umro u zatvoru 1938. godine.

Sovjetska vremena bila su teška za džudo u Rusiji. Krajem tridesetih godina prošlog stoljeća je proglašen "aktivnošću koja je strana sovjetskom narodu". Oščepkovljevi učenici su se prilagodili i razvili novu borilačku vještinu - sambo - koja se temeljila na džudu i bila mu vrlo slična.

Kada je u šezdesetima džudo priznat kao olimpijski sport, dobio je drugu priliku u Sovjetskom Savezu, gdje su sovjetski čelnici htjeli osvojiti još više zlatnih medalja. Zabrana džuda je ukinuta, a sljedbenici samba bili su potaknuti da se prebace na "novooslobođenu" borilačku vještinu.

Prvi rezultati su bili impresivni. Već su na ljetnim Olimpijskim igrama 1964. sovjetski sljedbenici samba, koji su bili prisiljeni okrenuti se džudu, osvojili su četiri brončane medalje.

Bilo je potrebno neko vrijeme za stvaranje sustava džuda u Sovjetskom Savezu, a Sovjetska džudaška federacija uspostavljena je tek 1972. godine. Od tada se prvenstva u džudu održavaju redovito.

Godina 1972. bila je izvanredna za sovjetski džudo i iz drugog razloga. Na ljetnim Olimpijskim igrama u Münchenu Šota Čočišvili osvojio je prvo olimpijsko zlato u džudu za Sovjetski Savez.

Pad Sovjetskog Saveza zadao je ozbiljan udarac ruskom džudu. Slavne pobjede su prestale i postale stvar prošlosti. Bez odgovarajućeg budžeta, džudaške škole za mlade su masovno zatvarane.

Danas džudo proživljava renesansu. Ruski predsjednik Vladimir Putin u tome ima veliku ulogu. Ovaj veliki obožavatelj džuda kaže da se u svom životu i radu često oslanja na filozofske principe ove japanske borilačke vještine, piše Russia Beyond.

Omiljeni sport ruskog predsjednika - džudo - dugo je bio zabranjen u Sovjetskom Savezu. Danas ruski stil ove borilačke vještine slovi za jednu od najjačih škola u svijetu.

Da nije bilo ovog čovjeka, džudo se vjerojatno nikada ne bi pojavio u Rusiji.
