Šibenik je do početka agresije na Hrvatsku i srpske pobune početkom devedesetih godina prošlog stoljeća slovio kao jedna od najjačih vojnih utvrda tadašnje Jugoslavenske narodne armije i njezine mornarice.

S brojnim bazama, od Kanala svetog Ante do Remontnoga zavoda, tada poznatog pod imenom "Velimir Škorpik", i cijelom flotom torpednih i drugih brodova. U to vrijeme, prije 31 godinu, od JNA je taj prostor označen kao nepremostivi bedem svakome tko bi se (osobito s mora) usudio napasti Šibenik.

Jugoslavenska propaganda širila je glasine kako bi NATO, radi intervencije u tadašnjoj Jugoslaviji, to mogao početi i napadom na Šibenik! Na prostoru od Remontnoga zavoda, gdje je bila smještena cijela flota torpednih čamaca i drugih brodova, do Kanala svetog Ante bilo je nagomilano silno oružje i oprema s kompletnim posadama.

Zadaća im je bila "braniti" Šibenik, uz splitsku Loru jednu od dviju ključnih dalmatinskih vojnih luka, od vanjskoga napada i od "unutrašnjeg neprijatelja". Ali, JNA je već na početku agresije ostala bez prave logistike, postrojbe su ostale zatvorene i blokirane u svojim bazama i vojarnama.

Nakon poraza na Šibenskom mostu u Rujanskom ratu 1991. godine našli su se u bezizlaznom položaju, jer im pomoć niotkud više nije mogla doći. Admiral Sveto Letica, zapovjednik Hrvatske ratne mornarice, vodio je u Šibeniku pregovore o povlačenju JNA iz grada i njegove okolice, s mora i kopna, a razgovori su dugo trajali i bili prekidani od predstavnika jugosoldateske.

Istodobno, na području Hrvatske nastao je jaki civilni pokret žena, poznati "Bedem ljubavi", čije su aktivistice iz cijele Dalmacije demonstrirale pred vojarnama jugovojske, tražeći da se oslobode mladi mobilizirani Hrvati, ali i stanovnici drugih tadašnjih republika SFRJ koji nisu htjeli oružjem ići protiv drugih naroda.

Na transparentu jedne majke na slici koju donosimo piše: "Pustite našu djecu dok su vaša živa". Ta rečenica govori sve. A onda je JNA ipak počela napuštati bazu po bazu u Krešimirovu gradu i odlaziti prema zaleđu i BiH.

U jednu od praznih baza, onu u uvali Paninkovac u šibenskoj luci, jednog dana nas je poveo Šibenčanin Josip Juras, tadašnji zamjenik ministra obrane. Imali smo što vidjeti.

Veliki hangar s naslaganim torpedima za podmornice i torpedne brodove, zjapio je bez igdje ikoga. U hrvatske ruka dospjela je i cijela flota od tridesetak brodova raznih namjena koje su škverani iz "Škorpika" zaustavili na remontu i koji su u tim počecima činili okosnicu Hrvatske ratne mornarice.

Šibenik je do početka agresije na Hrvatsku i srpske pobune početkom devedesetih godina prošlog stoljeća slovio kao jedna od najjačih vojnih utvrda tadašnje Jugoslavenske narodne armije i njezine mornarice.

S brojnim bazama, od Kanala svetog Ante do Remontnoga zavoda, tada poznatog pod imenom "Velimir Škorpik", i cijelom flotom torpednih i drugih brodova. U to vrijeme, prije 31 godinu, od JNA je taj prostor označen kao nepremostivi bedem svakome tko bi se (osobito s mora) usudio napasti Šibenik.

Jugoslavenska propaganda širila je glasine kako bi NATO, radi intervencije u tadašnjoj Jugoslaviji, to mogao početi i napadom na Šibenik! Na prostoru od Remontnoga zavoda, gdje je bila smještena cijela flota torpednih čamaca i drugih brodova, do Kanala svetog Ante bilo je nagomilano silno oružje i oprema s kompletnim posadama.

Zadaća im je bila "braniti" Šibenik, uz splitsku Loru jednu od dviju ključnih dalmatinskih vojnih luka, od vanjskoga napada i od "unutrašnjeg neprijatelja". Ali, JNA je već na početku agresije ostala bez prave logistike, postrojbe su ostale zatvorene i blokirane u svojim bazama i vojarnama.

Nakon poraza na Šibenskom mostu u Rujanskom ratu 1991. godine našli su se u bezizlaznom položaju, jer im pomoć niotkud više nije mogla doći. Admiral Sveto Letica, zapovjednik Hrvatske ratne mornarice, vodio je u Šibeniku pregovore o povlačenju JNA iz grada i njegove okolice, s mora i kopna, a razgovori su dugo trajali i bili prekidani od predstavnika jugosoldateske.

Istodobno, na području Hrvatske nastao je jaki civilni pokret žena, poznati "Bedem ljubavi", čije su aktivistice iz cijele Dalmacije demonstrirale pred vojarnama jugovojske, tražeći da se oslobode mladi mobilizirani Hrvati, ali i stanovnici drugih tadašnjih republika SFRJ koji nisu htjeli oružjem ići protiv drugih naroda.

Na transparentu jedne majke na slici koju donosimo piše: "Pustite našu djecu dok su vaša živa". Ta rečenica govori sve. A onda je JNA ipak počela napuštati bazu po bazu u Krešimirovu gradu i odlaziti prema zaleđu i BiH.

U jednu od praznih baza, onu u uvali Paninkovac u šibenskoj luci, jednog dana nas je poveo Šibenčanin Josip Juras, tadašnji zamjenik ministra obrane. Imali smo što vidjeti.

Veliki hangar s naslaganim torpedima za podmornice i torpedne brodove, zjapio je bez igdje ikoga. U hrvatske ruka dospjela je i cijela flota od tridesetak brodova raznih namjena koje su škverani iz "Škorpika" zaustavili na remontu i koji su u tim počecima činili okosnicu Hrvatske ratne mornarice.

‘Bedem ljubavi‘ bio je u Šibeniku jači i od torpeda JRM-a: ‘Pustite našu djecu dok su vaša živa‘

Šibenik je do početka agresije na Hrvatsku i srpske pobune početkom devedesetih godina prošlog stoljeća slovio kao jedna od najjačih vojnih utvrda tadašnje Jugoslavenske narodne armije i njezine mornarice.

S brojnim bazama, od Kanala svetog Ante do Remontnoga zavoda, tada poznatog pod imenom "Velimir Škorpik", i cijelom flotom torpednih i drugih brodova. U to vrijeme, prije 31 godinu, od JNA je taj prostor označen kao nepremostivi bedem svakome tko bi se (osobito s mora) usudio napasti Šibenik.

Jugoslavenska propaganda širila je glasine kako bi NATO, radi intervencije u tadašnjoj Jugoslaviji, to mogao početi i napadom na Šibenik! Na prostoru od Remontnoga zavoda, gdje je bila smještena cijela flota torpednih čamaca i drugih brodova, do Kanala svetog Ante bilo je nagomilano silno oružje i oprema s kompletnim posadama.

Zadaća im je bila "braniti" Šibenik, uz splitsku Loru jednu od dviju ključnih dalmatinskih vojnih luka, od vanjskoga napada i od "unutrašnjeg neprijatelja". Ali, JNA je već na početku agresije ostala bez prave logistike, postrojbe su ostale zatvorene i blokirane u svojim bazama i vojarnama.

Nakon poraza na Šibenskom mostu u Rujanskom ratu 1991. godine našli su se u bezizlaznom položaju, jer im pomoć niotkud više nije mogla doći. Admiral Sveto Letica, zapovjednik Hrvatske ratne mornarice, vodio je u Šibeniku pregovore o povlačenju JNA iz grada i njegove okolice, s mora i kopna, a razgovori su dugo trajali i bili prekidani od predstavnika jugosoldateske.
