Danski logistički div Moller-Maersk objavio je u utorak da je ubrzao provedbu plana o formiranju ekološki prihvatljive flote narudžbom osam ugljično neutralnih brodova za kontejnerski prijevoz tereta.
Maersk planira u prvom tromjesečju 2024. predstaviti "revolucionarne" oceanske brodove koji će kao pogonsko gorivo moći koristiti ugljično neutralni metanol.
Brodove će izgraditi južnokorejski Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), bit će opremljeni motorima s pogonom na klasično gorivo i na metanol, moći će prevoziti po 16.000 kontejnera i činit će oko tri posto Maerskove flote.
Sporazum s južnokorejskim brodograditeljem uključuje i opciju kupnje još četiri broda do 2025. godine.
Prema Maersku, novi brodovi omogućit će im da smanje godišnju emisiju ugljičnog dioksida za oko milijun tona.
„Moramo odmah nešto poduzeti ako želimo riješiti klimatske izazove u logistici", rekao je izvršni direktor Moller-Maerska Soren Skou.
"Ova narudžba dokazuje da su ugljično neutralna rješenja danas dostupna u svim segmentima kontejnerskih brodova i da Maersk želi udovoljiti sve većem broju klijenata koji žele dekarbonizirati svoje opskrbne lance“, naglasio je čelnik danskog diva.
„Ovo je također snažan signal proizvođačima goriva da se na tržištu ubrzano formira značajna potražnja za zelenim gorivima", dodao je.
Grupa je u veljači najavila da će prvi ugljično neutralni brod pustiti u promet 2023. godine, sedam godina ranije no što su bili planirali. Brod će kao pogonsko gorivo koristiti biometanol i plovit će rutama unutar regije.
Maersk je 2017. prodao odjel za proizvodnju nafte TotalEnergiesu i namjerava biti ugljično neutralan do 2050. Prošle godine objavili su da su smanjili emisiju ugljika za 42 posto.
Pomorski promet veći je zagađivač od zračnoga, pokazuju podaci Višeg instituta za ekonomiku pomorstva (Isemar), s udjelom u globalnim emisijama stakleničkih plinova od 2,98 posto u 2018. godini, prema Međunarodnoj organizaciji za pomorstvo (IMO).

Danski logistički div Moller-Maersk objavio je u utorak da je ubrzao provedbu plana o formiranju ekološki prihvatljive flote narudžbom osam ugljično neutralnih brodova za kontejnerski prijevoz tereta.
Maersk planira u prvom tromjesečju 2024. predstaviti "revolucionarne" oceanske brodove koji će kao pogonsko gorivo moći koristiti ugljično neutralni metanol.
Brodove će izgraditi južnokorejski Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), bit će opremljeni motorima s pogonom na klasično gorivo i na metanol, moći će prevoziti po 16.000 kontejnera i činit će oko tri posto Maerskove flote.
Sporazum s južnokorejskim brodograditeljem uključuje i opciju kupnje još četiri broda do 2025. godine.
Prema Maersku, novi brodovi omogućit će im da smanje godišnju emisiju ugljičnog dioksida za oko milijun tona.
„Moramo odmah nešto poduzeti ako želimo riješiti klimatske izazove u logistici", rekao je izvršni direktor Moller-Maerska Soren Skou.
"Ova narudžba dokazuje da su ugljično neutralna rješenja danas dostupna u svim segmentima kontejnerskih brodova i da Maersk želi udovoljiti sve većem broju klijenata koji žele dekarbonizirati svoje opskrbne lance“, naglasio je čelnik danskog diva.
„Ovo je također snažan signal proizvođačima goriva da se na tržištu ubrzano formira značajna potražnja za zelenim gorivima", dodao je.
Grupa je u veljači najavila da će prvi ugljično neutralni brod pustiti u promet 2023. godine, sedam godina ranije no što su bili planirali. Brod će kao pogonsko gorivo koristiti biometanol i plovit će rutama unutar regije.
Maersk je 2017. prodao odjel za proizvodnju nafte TotalEnergiesu i namjerava biti ugljično neutralan do 2050. Prošle godine objavili su da su smanjili emisiju ugljika za 42 posto.
Pomorski promet veći je zagađivač od zračnoga, pokazuju podaci Višeg instituta za ekonomiku pomorstva (Isemar), s udjelom u globalnim emisijama stakleničkih plinova od 2,98 posto u 2018. godini, prema Međunarodnoj organizaciji za pomorstvo (IMO).
