O važnosti koju podzemne vode imaju u našim životima učili su učenici Osnovne škole Ante Curać-Pinjac iz Žrnova koji su vođeni članovima udruge Adriatica iz Korčule i Osmica iz Karlovca, sudjelovali u akciji čišćenja otpada iz Jame na Mratinu u Postrani. Suradnja je realizirana s Gradom Korčulom i inicijativom Čisto podzemlje.
Tridesetak učenika aktivno je sudjelovalo u transportu i razvrstavanju izvađenog otpada iz jame, a imali su priliku i uživo vidjeti prezentaciju speleoloških tehnika što ih je veoma zanimalo.
Iz jame je ukupno očišćeno oko 3 kubična metra raznog građevinskog, krupnog i sitnog komunalnog te opasnog otpada u vidu raznih otpadnih ulja, boja i lijekova. Organizator je za sve sudionike osigurao rukavice i vreće za prikupljanje otpada. Sav prikupljeni otpad zbrinut je od strane KTD Hober.
No, kako bi se ova jama u potpunosti očistila od ubačenog otpada biti će potrebne još jedna do dvije ovakve akcije jer nažalost otpadu se ne nazire dno.
"Čisto podzemlje" je volonterska inicijativa pokrenuta 2015. godine od strane Zagrebačkog speleološkog saveza (ZSS). Do danas se u rad Inicijative uključilo više od 30 speleoloških udruga, s osnovnim ciljem – popularizirati problem divljih deponija otpada u krškom podzemlju. Hrvatsko je podzemlje u svjetskim razmjerima jedinstveno po raznolikosti podzemne faune, a podzemni vodonosnici jedni su od izdašnijih u Europi. Krške jame su kolektori vode, a ako su one onečišćene, pitka voda ispire se preko otpada i prolazi do naših vodocrpilišta, izvora, potoka i rijeka.
U našem je kršu dosad evidentirano preko 900 ilegalnih odlagališta koja ugrožavaju georaznolikost, jedinstvenu faunu i važne zalihe podzemne pitke vode. Nažalost, krška područja gotovo se u potpunosti preklapaju s područjima na kojima se nalaze onečišćene špilje i jame.
Čitav otok Korčula speleološki je zanimljiv. Na otoku postoji 150 speleoloških objekata, a proteklih dana predstavljen je speleološki katastar otoka Korčule i Badije kao plod dugogodišnjeg rada niza speleologa iz cijele RH, koji predstavlja bazu podataka od državne važnosti.
Takva baza je vrlo bitna za održivo i pametno upravljanje prostorom i važna je svima. Najveći dio speleoloških istraživanja u proteklih 30 godina na otoku Korčuli materijalno i logistički je pokrio Grad Korčula.
U jednom od speleoloških istraživanja, prošle godine, u Postrani, na dubini od 35 metara, instruktor speleolgije Branko Jalžić i kolega mu Damir Basara iz karlovačke Osmice, pronašli su fosilne ostatke zuba ribe iz reda Pycnodontiformes, prema navodima stručnjaka, stare oko 60 milijuna godina. Fosil je predan Hrvatskom prirodoslovnom muzeju i nakon obrade će biti vraćen u Korčulu.
- Obzirom na nevelik broj fosila piknodontnih riba, svaki novi nalaz, tako i ovaj sa Korčule, vrijedan je dokaz o njihovoj rasprostranjenosti i važan znanstveni podatak, objasnio je Jalžić.

O važnosti koju podzemne vode imaju u našim životima učili su učenici Osnovne škole Ante Curać-Pinjac iz Žrnova koji su vođeni članovima udruge Adriatica iz Korčule i Osmica iz Karlovca, sudjelovali u akciji čišćenja otpada iz Jame na Mratinu u Postrani. Suradnja je realizirana s Gradom Korčulom i inicijativom Čisto podzemlje.
Tridesetak učenika aktivno je sudjelovalo u transportu i razvrstavanju izvađenog otpada iz jame, a imali su priliku i uživo vidjeti prezentaciju speleoloških tehnika što ih je veoma zanimalo.
Iz jame je ukupno očišćeno oko 3 kubična metra raznog građevinskog, krupnog i sitnog komunalnog te opasnog otpada u vidu raznih otpadnih ulja, boja i lijekova. Organizator je za sve sudionike osigurao rukavice i vreće za prikupljanje otpada. Sav prikupljeni otpad zbrinut je od strane KTD Hober.
No, kako bi se ova jama u potpunosti očistila od ubačenog otpada biti će potrebne još jedna do dvije ovakve akcije jer nažalost otpadu se ne nazire dno.
"Čisto podzemlje" je volonterska inicijativa pokrenuta 2015. godine od strane Zagrebačkog speleološkog saveza (ZSS). Do danas se u rad Inicijative uključilo više od 30 speleoloških udruga, s osnovnim ciljem – popularizirati problem divljih deponija otpada u krškom podzemlju. Hrvatsko je podzemlje u svjetskim razmjerima jedinstveno po raznolikosti podzemne faune, a podzemni vodonosnici jedni su od izdašnijih u Europi. Krške jame su kolektori vode, a ako su one onečišćene, pitka voda ispire se preko otpada i prolazi do naših vodocrpilišta, izvora, potoka i rijeka.
U našem je kršu dosad evidentirano preko 900 ilegalnih odlagališta koja ugrožavaju georaznolikost, jedinstvenu faunu i važne zalihe podzemne pitke vode. Nažalost, krška područja gotovo se u potpunosti preklapaju s područjima na kojima se nalaze onečišćene špilje i jame.
Čitav otok Korčula speleološki je zanimljiv. Na otoku postoji 150 speleoloških objekata, a proteklih dana predstavljen je speleološki katastar otoka Korčule i Badije kao plod dugogodišnjeg rada niza speleologa iz cijele RH, koji predstavlja bazu podataka od državne važnosti.
Takva baza je vrlo bitna za održivo i pametno upravljanje prostorom i važna je svima. Najveći dio speleoloških istraživanja u proteklih 30 godina na otoku Korčuli materijalno i logistički je pokrio Grad Korčula.
U jednom od speleoloških istraživanja, prošle godine, u Postrani, na dubini od 35 metara, instruktor speleolgije Branko Jalžić i kolega mu Damir Basara iz karlovačke Osmice, pronašli su fosilne ostatke zuba ribe iz reda Pycnodontiformes, prema navodima stručnjaka, stare oko 60 milijuna godina. Fosil je predan Hrvatskom prirodoslovnom muzeju i nakon obrade će biti vraćen u Korčulu.
- Obzirom na nevelik broj fosila piknodontnih riba, svaki novi nalaz, tako i ovaj sa Korčule, vrijedan je dokaz o njihovoj rasprostranjenosti i važan znanstveni podatak, objasnio je Jalžić.
