Svjetski oceani ovaj su tjedan postigli rekordno visoku temperaturu, pojačavši zabrinutost oko klime planete, morskog života i obalnih zajednica.

Temperatura površina oceana u petak je narasla na 20,96 stupnjeva Celzija, pokazuju podaci klimatskog opservatorija Europske unije.

Posljednji rekord od 20,95 stupnjeva zabilježen je u ožujku 2016. godine, rekla je glasnogovornica službe EU-a za klimatske promjene Kopernik agenciji France Presse.

Među testiranim uzorcima nema onih iz polarnih regija, prenosi agencija France Presse, ne navodeći jesu li oni uračunati u ranijim mjerenjima.

Oceani apsorbiraju 90 posto viška topline koju generira ljudska aktivnost od početka industrijskog doba, upozoravaju znanstvenici.

Ta toplina se nastavlja akumulirati jer se staklenički plinovi, većinom od izgaranja nafte, pina i ugljena, skupljaju u Zemljinoj atmosferi.

Prosječna temperatura oceana od travnja na razini svijeta ruši sezonske rekorde.

„Toplinski val oceana je neposredna prijetnja dijelu morskog života“, rekao je Piers Forster s međunarodnog centra za klimu na sveučilištu Leeds.

„Već svjedočimo izravnom rezultatu izbjeljivanja koralja na Floridi, a očekujem da će se pojaviti još posljedica“.

Predviđa se da će zagrijavanje oceana imati i druge utjecaje na podvodni život, uključujući na migracije određenih vrsta i širenje onih invazivnih. To bi moglo ugroziti zalihe ribe i stoga i sigurnost hrane u dijelovima svijeta.

Topliji oceani teže apsorbiraju ugljikov dioksid, čime se pojačava začarani krug globalnog zagrijavanja.

A više temperature slijede jer je fenomen El Nino, koji zagrijava temperature, tek krenuo, piše France Presse.

„Iako svakako ima kratkoročnih faktora, glavni dugoročni uzrok je bez sumnje akumulacija stakleničkih plinova u atmosferi uzrokovana ljudskom aktivnošću, prvenstveno izgaranjem fosilnih goriva“, rekao je Rowan Sutton, direktor za klimatska istraživanja sa sveučilišta Reading.

Posljednji brojevi pokazuju obaranje rekorda diljem zemlja.

U ponedjeljak je temperatura od 38,3 stupnjeva zabilježena kod obale Floride. Prošli tjedan su temperature površine sjevernog Atlantika narasle na rekordno visoku prosječnu temperaturu od 24,9 stupnjeva, pokazuju podaci američke Nacionalne uprave za oceane i atmosferu (NOAA).

Sjeverni Atlantik u pravilu vrhunac temperature bilježi tek u rujnu. Od ožujka, mjeseca kad se to more kreće zagrijavati nakon zimskih mjeseci, temperature su bile više nego proteklih godina, a razlika u odnosu na prošle rekorde proteklih tjedana raste.

To je područje postalo ključna točka proučavanja zagrijavanja svjetskih oceana. Mediteran je ranije u srpnju oborio svoj dnevni rekord s medijanom temperature od 28,71 stupnjeva.

Morski toplinski valovi dvostruko su češći od 1982. godine, stoji u izvješću iz 2019. Međuvladinog panela o klimatskim promjenama (IPCC) Ujedinjenih naroda. Do 2100. oni bi mogli biti i dvostruko intenzivniji ako se ne smanje emisije štetnih plinova.

Očekuje se da će korištenje ugljena, nafte i plina biti u središtu rasprava na nadolazećem skupu COP28, klimatskim razgovorima UN-a, koji će se krajem godine održati u Dubaiju.

Svjetski oceani ovaj su tjedan postigli rekordno visoku temperaturu, pojačavši zabrinutost oko klime planete, morskog života i obalnih zajednica.

Temperatura površina oceana u petak je narasla na 20,96 stupnjeva Celzija, pokazuju podaci klimatskog opservatorija Europske unije.

Posljednji rekord od 20,95 stupnjeva zabilježen je u ožujku 2016. godine, rekla je glasnogovornica službe EU-a za klimatske promjene Kopernik agenciji France Presse.

Među testiranim uzorcima nema onih iz polarnih regija, prenosi agencija France Presse, ne navodeći jesu li oni uračunati u ranijim mjerenjima.

Oceani apsorbiraju 90 posto viška topline koju generira ljudska aktivnost od početka industrijskog doba, upozoravaju znanstvenici.

Ta toplina se nastavlja akumulirati jer se staklenički plinovi, većinom od izgaranja nafte, pina i ugljena, skupljaju u Zemljinoj atmosferi.

Prosječna temperatura oceana od travnja na razini svijeta ruši sezonske rekorde.

„Toplinski val oceana je neposredna prijetnja dijelu morskog života“, rekao je Piers Forster s međunarodnog centra za klimu na sveučilištu Leeds.

„Već svjedočimo izravnom rezultatu izbjeljivanja koralja na Floridi, a očekujem da će se pojaviti još posljedica“.

Predviđa se da će zagrijavanje oceana imati i druge utjecaje na podvodni život, uključujući na migracije određenih vrsta i širenje onih invazivnih. To bi moglo ugroziti zalihe ribe i stoga i sigurnost hrane u dijelovima svijeta.

Topliji oceani teže apsorbiraju ugljikov dioksid, čime se pojačava začarani krug globalnog zagrijavanja.

„Iako svakako ima kratkoročnih faktora, glavni dugoročni uzrok je bez sumnje akumulacija stakleničkih plinova u atmosferi uzrokovana ljudskom aktivnošću, prvenstveno izgaranjem fosilnih goriva“, rekao je Rowan Sutton, direktor za klimatska istraživanja sa sveučilišta Reading.

Posljednji brojevi pokazuju obaranje rekorda diljem zemlja.

U ponedjeljak je temperatura od 38,3 stupnjeva zabilježena kod obale Floride. Prošli tjedan su temperature površine sjevernog Atlantika narasle na rekordno visoku prosječnu temperaturu od 24,9 stupnjeva, pokazuju podaci američke Nacionalne uprave za oceane i atmosferu (NOAA).

Sjeverni Atlantik u pravilu vrhunac temperature bilježi tek u rujnu. Od ožujka, mjeseca kad se to more kreće zagrijavati nakon zimskih mjeseci, temperature su bile više nego proteklih godina, a razlika u odnosu na prošle rekorde proteklih tjedana raste.

To je područje postalo ključna točka proučavanja zagrijavanja svjetskih oceana. Mediteran je ranije u srpnju oborio svoj dnevni rekord s medijanom temperature od 28,71 stupnjeva.

Morski toplinski valovi dvostruko su češći od 1982. godine, stoji u izvješću iz 2019. Međuvladinog panela o klimatskim promjenama (IPCC) Ujedinjenih naroda. Do 2100. oni bi mogli biti i dvostruko intenzivniji ako se ne smanje emisije štetnih plinova.

Očekuje se da će korištenje ugljena, nafte i plina biti u središtu rasprava na nadolazećem skupu COP28, klimatskim razgovorima UN-a, koji će se krajem godine održati u Dubaiju.

Svjetski oceani ovaj su tjedan postigli rekordno visoku temperaturu, pojačavši zabrinutost oko klime planete, morskog života i obalnih zajednica.

Temperatura površina oceana u petak je narasla na 20,96 stupnjeva Celzija, pokazuju podaci klimatskog opservatorija Europske unije.

Posljednji rekord od 20,95 stupnjeva zabilježen je u ožujku 2016. godine, rekla je glasnogovornica službe EU-a za klimatske promjene Kopernik agenciji France Presse.

Među testiranim uzorcima nema onih iz polarnih regija, prenosi agencija France Presse, ne navodeći jesu li oni uračunati u ranijim mjerenjima.

Oceani apsorbiraju 90 posto viška topline koju generira ljudska aktivnost od početka industrijskog doba, upozoravaju znanstvenici.

Ta toplina se nastavlja akumulirati jer se staklenički plinovi, većinom od izgaranja nafte, pina i ugljena, skupljaju u Zemljinoj atmosferi.

Prosječna temperatura oceana od travnja na razini svijeta ruši sezonske rekorde.

„Toplinski val oceana je neposredna prijetnja dijelu morskog života“, rekao je Piers Forster s međunarodnog centra za klimu na sveučilištu Leeds.

„Već svjedočimo izravnom rezultatu izbjeljivanja koralja na Floridi, a očekujem da će se pojaviti još posljedica“.

Predviđa se da će zagrijavanje oceana imati i druge utjecaje na podvodni život, uključujući na migracije određenih vrsta i širenje onih invazivnih. To bi moglo ugroziti zalihe ribe i stoga i sigurnost hrane u dijelovima svijeta.

Topliji oceani teže apsorbiraju ugljikov dioksid, čime se pojačava začarani krug globalnog zagrijavanja.
