Nogometaš Dario Šimić i njegova supruga Jelena progovorili su prvi put o svojemu četverogodišnjem sinčiću Davidu koji je rođen s Downovim sindromom. Roditelji su još trojice sinova, Nikolasa, Roka i Viktora, a ova velika obitelj već godinama skladno funkcionira unatoč problemu o kojem su htjeli osvijestiti javnost. 

Downov sindrom ili Trisomija 21, kako priča bračni par u Storyjevom videu, poremećaj je kromosoma koji nastaje uslijed viška jednog, 21. kromosoma. Smatra se jednim od najčešćih genetskih odstupanja, a može se javiti u bilo kojoj obitelji, bez obzira na zdravlje roditelja, eknomsku situaciju ili način života.

"Kao Davidovi roditelji, najviše se bojimo predrasuda", kaže 44-godišnji sportaš iskreno u sklopu projekta "Same chances" ("Jednake prilike). Priznaje da su prošli težak put, no isto tako da su zbog razigranog dječačića zaraznog osmijeha postali plemenitiji ljudi, snažniji kao roditelji, povezaniji kao obitelj.

Upravo zato supružnici su i osnovali Hrvatsku udrugu za ranu edukaciju o ovome poremećaju, kako bi djeca koja se s njim rađaju mogla pokazati koliko znaju i da im se ne zatvaraju vrata zbog činjenice da su rođeni s jednim kromosomom viška.

U Hrvatskoj oko 1800 osoba živi s Downovim sindromom. Budući da djeci s poteškoćama treba najmanje dvostruko vremena da postignu rezultate koje postižu djeca urednog razvoja, potrebna je predanost roditelja i okoline, ali i otvorenost i shvaćanje ostatka ljudi.

Nogometaš Dario Šimić i njegova supruga Jelena progovorili su prvi put o svojemu četverogodišnjem sinčiću Davidu koji je rođen s Downovim sindromom. Roditelji su još trojice sinova, Nikolasa, Roka i Viktora, a ova velika obitelj već godinama skladno funkcionira unatoč problemu o kojem su htjeli osvijestiti javnost. 

Downov sindrom ili Trisomija 21, kako priča bračni par u Storyjevom videu, poremećaj je kromosoma koji nastaje uslijed viška jednog, 21. kromosoma. Smatra se jednim od najčešćih genetskih odstupanja, a može se javiti u bilo kojoj obitelji, bez obzira na zdravlje roditelja, eknomsku situaciju ili način života.

"Kao Davidovi roditelji, najviše se bojimo predrasuda", kaže 44-godišnji sportaš iskreno u sklopu projekta "Same chances" ("Jednake prilike). Priznaje da su prošli težak put, no isto tako da su zbog razigranog dječačića zaraznog osmijeha postali plemenitiji ljudi, snažniji kao roditelji, povezaniji kao obitelj.

Upravo zato supružnici su i osnovali Hrvatsku udrugu za ranu edukaciju o ovome poremećaju, kako bi djeca koja se s njim rađaju mogla pokazati koliko znaju i da im se ne zatvaraju vrata zbog činjenice da su rođeni s jednim kromosomom viška.

U Hrvatskoj oko 1800 osoba živi s Downovim sindromom. Budući da djeci s poteškoćama treba najmanje dvostruko vremena da postignu rezultate koje postižu djeca urednog razvoja, potrebna je predanost roditelja i okoline, ali i otvorenost i shvaćanje ostatka ljudi.
