Greenpeace je u 2012. kupio uzorke odjeće dvadeset proizvođača u 29 zemalja i regija u svijetu, od hlača, majica, rublja i haljina proizvedenih u Kini i drugim zemljama u razvoju te proveo isiptivanja.

"U dvije trećine od 141 uzoraka otkrivena je prisutnost nonilfenol etoksilata (NPE)", ustvrdio je Greenpeace. Neka odjeća sadrži ftalate ili boje koje sadrže kancerogene amine.

NPE se često koristi u tekstilnoj industriji u deterdžentima u brojnim industrijskim procesima i proizvodnji prirodnog i sintetičkog tekstila. Izlijeva se u kanalizaciju i razlaže se u vrlo toskičan nonilfenol koji remeti rad hormona.

Modne marke koje je Greenpeace imenovao "veliki su igrači na tržištu mode". Zara proizvede 850 milijuna komada odjeće na godinu. Stoga je lako zamisliti količine otrova za koju je odgovorna tekstilna industrija u zemljama u razvoju, a napose u Kini gdje je proizvodnja masovna.

U 2011. Greenpeace je objavio dva izvješća "Prljavo rublje" i "Prljavo rublje 2" u kojima otkriva kako veliki dobavljači tekstila onečišćuju vodu kineskih rijeka industrijskim otpadom, kemijskim tvarima koje se nalaze i u finalnim proizvodima.

Greenpeace je u 2012. kupio uzorke odjeće dvadeset proizvođača u 29 zemalja i regija u svijetu, od hlača, majica, rublja i haljina proizvedenih u Kini i drugim zemljama u razvoju te proveo isiptivanja.

"U dvije trećine od 141 uzoraka otkrivena je prisutnost nonilfenol etoksilata (NPE)", ustvrdio je Greenpeace. Neka odjeća sadrži ftalate ili boje koje sadrže kancerogene amine.

NPE se često koristi u tekstilnoj industriji u deterdžentima u brojnim industrijskim procesima i proizvodnji prirodnog i sintetičkog tekstila. Izlijeva se u kanalizaciju i razlaže se u vrlo toskičan nonilfenol koji remeti rad hormona.

Modne marke koje je Greenpeace imenovao "veliki su igrači na tržištu mode". Zara proizvede 850 milijuna komada odjeće na godinu. Stoga je lako zamisliti količine otrova za koju je odgovorna tekstilna industrija u zemljama u razvoju, a napose u Kini gdje je proizvodnja masovna.

U 2011. Greenpeace je objavio dva izvješća "Prljavo rublje" i "Prljavo rublje 2" u kojima otkriva kako veliki dobavljači tekstila onečišćuju vodu kineskih rijeka industrijskim otpadom, kemijskim tvarima koje se nalaze i u finalnim proizvodima.
