Krastavac je jednogodišnja većinom jednodomna biljka s jednospolnim cvjetovima zbog čega su za oplodnju potrebni kukci. Cvjetove krastavaca najviše oprašuju pčele. Ženski cvjetovi su pojedinačni (rijeđe po 2 ili više na kratkim stapkama), a muški su grozdastom cvatu s više cvijetova, piše Agroportal.
1. Krastavac pomaže u održavanju dobrog zdravlja. Krastavci sadrže vitamine B1, B2, B3, B5 i B6, folnu kiselinu, vitamin C, željezo, kalcij, cink, magnezij, fosfor i kalij, dok 95% njihovog sastava čini voda.

11. Krastavac pomaže kod nadutosti oka. Kiselina koju sadrži krastavac ima sposobnost da smanji zadržavanje vode i smanji nadutost očiju.
12. Krastavac je bio odgovoran za izbijanje epidemije salmonele u SAD-u 2015/2016. Centar za kontrolu bolesti u ožujku te godine rekao je da ima 907 oboljelih.

Krastavac je jednogodišnja većinom jednodomna biljka s jednospolnim cvjetovima zbog čega su za oplodnju potrebni kukci. Cvjetove krastavaca najviše oprašuju pčele. Ženski cvjetovi su pojedinačni (rijeđe po 2 ili više na kratkim stapkama), a muški su grozdastom cvatu s više cvijetova, piše Agroportal.
1. Krastavac pomaže u održavanju dobrog zdravlja. Krastavci sadrže vitamine B1, B2, B3, B5 i B6, folnu kiselinu, vitamin C, željezo, kalcij, cink, magnezij, fosfor i kalij, dok 95% njihovog sastava čini voda.
2. Krastavac je odlična pomoć kod lošeg zadaha. Pritisnite mali komad krastavca na vrh usana i držite ga jezikom 30 sekundi. Na ovaj način krastavac ubija sve bakterije iz usta.
3. Bijeli sloj krastavca može ukloniti modrice. Trljajte kožu polako i vidjet ćete rezultate.
4. Uz pomoć krastavca smanjite rizik od razvoja određenih vrsta raka i tumora. Smatra se da sastojci koje sadrži krastavac mogu da smanjiti rizik od raka dojke, jajnika, debelog crijeva i raka prostate.
5. Krastavac pomaže kod opekotina od sunca. Izmiksiran ili samljeven krastavac je odličan način da brzo izliječite opekotine od sunca.
6. Krastavac se konzumira od davnina. Oni su prvo uzgajani u drevnoj Indiji oko drugog ili trećeg tisućljeća prije Krista.
7. Postoji velika razlika između unutrašnje i vanjske temperature krastavca. Razlika u temperaturi može dostići 20 stupnjeva.
8. Smatra se da je Kolumbo prevezao krastavce na Haiti 1494. godine i počeo njihovu distribuciju u “novom svijetu”.
9. 2010. godine svjetska proizvodnja krastavaca je dostigla 57,5 milijuna tona. Zanimljivo je da 40.7 milijuna tona proizvodnje i izvoza dolazi iz Kine.
10. David Thomas iz Britanije proizveo je najveći krastavac na svijetu. On je težine 12,9 kilograma.
11. Krastavac pomaže kod nadutosti oka. Kiselina koju sadrži krastavac ima sposobnost da smanji zadržavanje vode i smanji nadutost očiju.
12. Krastavac je bio odgovoran za izbijanje epidemije salmonele u SAD-u 2015/2016. Centar za kontrolu bolesti u ožujku te godine rekao je da ima 907 oboljelih.
