Kako protumačiti činjenicu da se neka knjiga prodala u, za naše prilike, vrtoglavoj nakladi te da je doživjela već treće izdanje? Odgovor može biti samo jedan: očito se radi o naslovu koji udovoljava nekoj potrebi čitalačke publike. Znamo li da se dotični libar bavi blagdanima, neizbježno se nameće zaključak da Hrvati nisu baš sasvim na "ti" s vjerom koju ispovijedaju, pa se rado utječu literaturi koja će im objasniti što je u stvari njima sveto i vrijedno slavljenja.

Tome se ne treba čuditi. Do prije tridesetak godina, Hrvati su, kao što znamo, bili nacija samoupravljača. A onda se dogodio veliki prevrat. Jedne noći, kao i svake prethodne desetljećima unatrag, usnuli su kao umorni proleteri, da bi se sljedećega jutra probudili kao gorljivi katolici. I kao što su onomad ama baš svi, bez jedne jedincate iznimke, bili baštinici Kardeljeve doktrine, preko noći su opet svi, od prvoga do zadnjega, postali nepokolebljivi vjernici. Naravno, u jednoj noći nitko nije mogao nadoknaditi propuštene godine ili čak desetljeća bez vjeronaučne poduke i ceremonijalnog iskustva, pa je trebalo pronaći iskoristive prečice. A ona koju je trasirao Inoslav Bešker očito se pokazala najkorisnijom: dotični pisac uzdigao se do časti oftalmologa, jer je mnogima otvorio oči.

Treće izdanje "Blagdana", temeljito prerađeno i dopunjeno cijelom trećinom novoga teksta, prilika je za primjerenu izobrazbu najtvrdokornijih lijenčina koji su sve do sada izmicali potrebi savladavanja materije (naravno, uvijek se radi o materiji, čak i kad imamo posla s Duhom svetim).

DRAŽESNO ZLOČEST

Blagdani su posloženi kronološkim redom, dakle, od Nove godine do Božića, a u izbor je uključeno i nekoliko datuma koji ne pripadaju ovdašnjoj katoličkoj tradiciji, poput primjerice Praznika rada, zaostalog iz vremena kad se državna religija drukčije, dakle, crvenije definirala, ili Valentinova, čije širenje imamo zahvaliti združenim naporima poduzetnih trgovaca i ugostitelja (začudo, izostao je Dan svetog Patrika, koji se kod nas u novije vrijeme obilježava samo za nijansu manje entuzijastično nego u Limericku ili Galwayu). Dobrodošla žunta knjizi su tekstovi koji tematiziraju blagdane naših vjerskih manjina (muslimanske i židovske) te mjesne fešte (u počast svetima Vlahi, Duji, trogirskome Ivanu i đakovačkom Iliji).

Inoslav Bešker apgrejdana je verzija Googleove tražilice, naprednija od američkog digitalnog pančofa utoliko što, osim svih traženih podataka i izvora, nudi i sveobuhvatnu sintezu. To je vidljivo i iz ovoga libra koji svakome blagdanu otkriva porijeklo, razlog i bogatstvo manifestacija. Svi ti silni podaci uvijek su, međutim, ponuđeni kao markeri neke priče koju nam Bešker izlaže, što će reći da on, i kad se bavi leksikografijom, to čini kao pripovjedač. Koji je k tome dražesno zločest, dakle, duhovit. Premda Splićanin na privremenom, višedesetljetnom radu u Rimu, Ino nije baštinik škole lokalnog humorizma koja je počesto mrvicu prebučna, nametljiva i agresivna. Bešker podjebava sve kao da neće, češki suzdržano, ali zato nepogrešivo peckavo.

FEŠTA ERUDICIJE

Koliko je širok obuhvat njegovih blagdanskih ogleda, zgodno ilustrira tekst o Uskrsu koji se, među ostalim, vrlo utemeljeno bavi i forenzičkim pitanjem kako je točno Sin Gospodnji razapet. CSI Bešker s akribijom Stephena Kinga donosi ovaj zaključak: "Isus je na križ bio razapet čavlima, kroz zapešća (a ne kroz pesti, kako se dugo smatralo i kako se likovno prikazuje), raširenih ruku, te kroz stopala, pa ostavljen da visi o te četiri bolne točke. Uslijed tog položaja disanje mu je bilo otežano, tako da se postupno davio. Da bi mogao udahnuti – refleksno – morao bi se izdići na križu, dakle oduprijeti o čavle na kojima je visio, što je širilo te rane i bilo strahovito bolno."

Ovaj libar dragocjen je i stoga što snagu žive vjere otkriva na mjestima gdje bi je malo tko tražio. U tom je smislu ilustrativan tekst o (izvorno ljevičarskom) Međunarodnom prazniku rada koji je papa Pio XII., meštarskim driblingom koji bi posramio Messija i Ronalda skupa, spretno posvojio i proglasio Danom svetog Josipa Radnika (koji se dotad slavio u trećoj nedjelji po Uskrsu). Iz toga slijedi neizbježan zaključak kako je Crkva vječna ne samo po dugoj i bogatoj prošlosti koja stoji iza nje, nego i po umijeću da odgovori izazovima sadašnjosti.

"Blagdani" su, očekivano, fešta erudicije, ali i iznimno zabavan libar koji poručuje kako ni sveci ne bi smjeli biti toliko sveti da se na njihov račun nitko ne smije makar malo zezati.

Znamo li da se dotični libar bavi blagdanima, neizbježno se nameće zaključak da Hrvati nisu baš sasvim na "ti" s vjerom koju ispovijedaju, pa se rado utječu literaturi koja će im objasniti što je u stvari njima sveto i vrijedno slavljenja.

Tome se ne treba čuditi. Do prije tridesetak godina, Hrvati su, kao što znamo, bili nacija samoupravljača. A onda se dogodio veliki prevrat. Jedne noći, kao i svake prethodne desetljećima unatrag, usnuli su kao umorni proleteri, da bi se sljedećega jutra probudili kao gorljivi katolici. I kao što su onomad ama baš svi, bez jedne jedincate iznimke, bili baštinici Kardeljeve doktrine, preko noći su opet svi, od prvoga do zadnjega, postali nepokolebljivi vjernici. Naravno, u jednoj noći nitko nije mogao nadoknaditi propuštene godine ili čak desetljeća bez vjeronaučne poduke i ceremonijalnog iskustva, pa je trebalo pronaći iskoristive prečice. A ona koju je trasirao Inoslav Bešker očito se pokazala najkorisnijom: dotični pisac uzdigao se do časti oftalmologa, jer je mnogima otvorio oči.

Treće izdanje "Blagdana", temeljito prerađeno i dopunjeno cijelom trećinom novoga teksta, prilika je za primjerenu izobrazbu najtvrdokornijih lijenčina koji su sve do sada izmicali potrebi savladavanja materije (naravno, uvijek se radi o materiji, čak i kad imamo posla s Duhom svetim).

DRAŽESNO ZLOČEST

Blagdani su posloženi kronološkim redom, dakle, od Nove godine do Božića, a u izbor je uključeno i nekoliko datuma koji ne pripadaju ovdašnjoj katoličkoj tradiciji, poput primjerice Praznika rada, zaostalog iz vremena kad se državna religija drukčije, dakle, crvenije definirala, ili Valentinova, čije širenje imamo zahvaliti združenim naporima poduzetnih trgovaca i ugostitelja (začudo, izostao je Dan svetog Patrika, koji se kod nas u novije vrijeme obilježava samo za nijansu manje entuzijastično nego u Limericku ili Galwayu). Dobrodošla žunta knjizi su tekstovi koji tematiziraju blagdane naših vjerskih manjina (muslimanske i židovske) te mjesne fešte (u počast svetima Vlahi, Duji, trogirskome Ivanu i đakovačkom Iliji).

Inoslav Bešker apgrejdana je verzija Googleove tražilice, naprednija od američkog digitalnog pančofa utoliko što, osim svih traženih podataka i izvora, nudi i sveobuhvatnu sintezu. To je vidljivo i iz ovoga libra koji svakome blagdanu otkriva porijeklo, razlog i bogatstvo manifestacija. Svi ti silni podaci uvijek su, međutim, ponuđeni kao markeri neke priče koju nam Bešker izlaže, što će reći da on, i kad se bavi leksikografijom, to čini kao pripovjedač. Koji je k tome dražesno zločest, dakle, duhovit. Premda Splićanin na privremenom, višedesetljetnom radu u Rimu, Ino nije baštinik škole lokalnog humorizma koja je počesto mrvicu prebučna, nametljiva i agresivna. Bešker podjebava sve kao da neće, češki suzdržano, ali zato nepogrešivo peckavo.

FEŠTA ERUDICIJE

Koliko je širok obuhvat njegovih blagdanskih ogleda, zgodno ilustrira tekst o Uskrsu koji se, među ostalim, vrlo utemeljeno bavi i forenzičkim pitanjem kako je točno Sin Gospodnji razapet. CSI Bešker s akribijom Stephena Kinga donosi ovaj zaključak: "Isus je na križ bio razapet čavlima, kroz zapešća (a ne kroz pesti, kako se dugo smatralo i kako se likovno prikazuje), raširenih ruku, te kroz stopala, pa ostavljen da visi o te četiri bolne točke. Uslijed tog položaja disanje mu je bilo otežano, tako da se postupno davio. Da bi mogao udahnuti – refleksno – morao bi se izdići na križu, dakle oduprijeti o čavle na kojima je visio, što je širilo te rane i bilo strahovito bolno."

Ovaj libar dragocjen je i stoga što snagu žive vjere otkriva na mjestima gdje bi je malo tko tražio. U tom je smislu ilustrativan tekst o (izvorno ljevičarskom) Međunarodnom prazniku rada koji je papa Pio XII., meštarskim driblingom koji bi posramio Messija i Ronalda skupa, spretno posvojio i proglasio Danom svetog Josipa Radnika (koji se dotad slavio u trećoj nedjelji po Uskrsu). Iz toga slijedi neizbježan zaključak kako je Crkva vječna ne samo po dugoj i bogatoj prošlosti koja stoji iza nje, nego i po umijeću da odgovori izazovima sadašnjosti.

"Blagdani" su, očekivano, fešta erudicije, ali i iznimno zabavan libar koji poručuje kako ni sveci ne bi smjeli biti toliko sveti da se na njihov račun nitko ne smije makar malo zezati.

Kako protumačiti činjenicu da se neka knjiga prodala u, za naše prilike, vrtoglavoj nakladi te da je doživjela već treće izdanje? Odgovor može biti samo jedan: očito se radi o naslovu koji udovoljava nekoj potrebi čitalačke publike.
