"Svi ste mi stranci, svi." – "Gnijezdo" (2020.)

"Ova kuća me plaši. I mene, jeziva je", dodavaju se klinci u filmu "Gnijezdo ("The Nest") koji je hrvatsku premijeru upravo doživio na HBO-u nakon što je zaobišao domaća kina i videoteke. Klinci su brat i sestra Sam i Ben (Oona Roche, Charlie Shotwell), djeca Roryja i Allison (Jude Law, Carrie Coon), bračnog para koji se, zbog njegova posla, preselio iz Amerike u Veliku Britaniju, točnije Surrey.

Kuća na koju se klinci referiraju je njihov novi dom na golemom imanju. "Led Zeppelin su odsjeli ovdje kad su snimali jedan od albuma", govori Rory ženi i djeci kad usele u kuću iz 18. stoljeća. Kuća je stvorena za horor film, krckava i stara, izolirana na osami van grada, povezana usamljenim mračnim hodnicima itd.

Idealno za neku ominoznu prikazu iz filma nadnaravne strave i užasa da noćima proganja familiju, zar ne?

Međutim, "Gnijezdo" nije horor, već drama, možda i zato što "indie" filmaš Sean Durkin nije hororski redatelj kao ni Scott Cooper ("Ludo srce", "Čelična pravda", "Crna misa", "Neprijatelji"), makar je potonji snimio aktualne "Duhove tame".

Durkin se proslavio tu negdje kao i Cooper, prije deset godina, kad je Sundance festival upriličio premijeru njegove snažne psihološke drame "Martha Marcy May Marlene" s Elizabeth Olsen u glavnoj ulozi. U međuvremenu, za razliku od Coopera, nije snimio nijedan film.

Ipak, Durkin "gnijezdi" film kao kvazi-horor. "The Nest", Durkinov drugijenac također premijerno prikazan na Sundance festivalu, svija hororsko gnijezdo poigravajući se s nekim nadrealnim ili nadrealnijim kadrovima (Allisoničina) usamljenog buđenja, značajnih pogleda u (pr)azno ili predskazanja karakterističnih za žanr strave i u biti može proći kao priča o duhovima, jednako kao i drama o disfunkcionalnom braku i obitelji, tj. kritika kapitalizma.

Stvar je da je ovdje horor psihološke, ne fizičke prirode, kao i pripadajuće "nasilje" koje je "internog" tipa (likovi pate "iznutra"), a glavni akteri su se toliko emotivno udaljili jedni od drugih da kad šetaju po kući izgledaju kao da su duhovi vlastite prošlosti u kojoj su imali nešto zajedničko. Glumci odlično predočavaju tu distanciju i Law je ovdje u jednoj od najboljih uloga dosad ("Bliski odnosi", "Umjetna inteligencija", "Novi papa", "Gattaca"), a Coon je dala izvedbu karijere ("Nestala", "Preostali").

Tako, Allisoničina rečenica "Svi ste mi stranci, svi", ima veću težinu od proklamacije "sve je loše u vezi s ovom kućom", a suprostavljena je sceni kad pijana i sama pleše među neznancima u noćnom klubu. I sam film, jedan od onih koji biva bolji kad o njemu naknadno razmišljate nakon što ga pogledate, odvija se u prošlosti, točnije "yuppiejevskim" osamdesetim godinama prošlog stoljeća.

Vremenska odrednica nije navedena, ali otkrivaju je aktualne vijesti o predsjedniku Ronaldu Reaganu koje slušamo dok su Rory i Allison još u Americi, u domu nedaleko New Yorka. "Mislim da se trebamo preseliti u Britaniju, ukazala se prilika", predlaže Rory, a Allison ističe da je u pitanju njihova četvrta selidba.

"Ne gledaj unatrag, ovo je novi početak", sugerira "opasno ambiciozni" bankar Rory ženi, "prekrasnoj plavoj Amerikanki" koja se bavi konjogojstvom. Njega je iz rodne Britanije u Ameriku "odvukao američki san", no sad se vraća u londonsku firmu godinama nakon što ju je napustio misleći da će ga stečeno američko poslovno iskustvo načiniti milijunašem u Londonu.

Rory je pohlepni "yuppie" i "social climber", opsjednut statusnim simbolima poput imanja koje, financijski bankrotiran, ne može priuštiti, ali se njime može pohvaliti šefu na domjencima za visoko društvo sa skupim kaputima od nerca itd. na kojima je lako izgubiti identitet pretvarajući se da si netko drugi i lažući ženi o "velikom čeku koji stiže, onom pravom".

Upravo to on radi, pokušavajući odsanjati "američki san" u Britaniji za svoju familiju, da bi odsanjao samo košmar kad se članovi disfunkcionalne obitelji toliko emocionalno distanciraju da više "nitko nije isti". Razina njihove izolacije uklapa se u koronsko-karantensko doba i općenito "novo (ne)normalno" vrijeme kad su emotivni bankroti jednako učestala pojava poput ekonomskih.

"Svi ste mi stranci, svi." – "Gnijezdo" (2020.)

"Ova kuća me plaši. I mene, jeziva je", dodavaju se klinci u filmu "Gnijezdo ("The Nest") koji je hrvatsku premijeru upravo doživio na HBO-u nakon što je zaobišao domaća kina i videoteke. Klinci su brat i sestra Sam i Ben (Oona Roche, Charlie Shotwell), djeca Roryja i Allison (Jude Law, Carrie Coon), bračnog para koji se, zbog njegova posla, preselio iz Amerike u Veliku Britaniju, točnije Surrey.

Kuća na koju se klinci referiraju je njihov novi dom na golemom imanju. "Led Zeppelin su odsjeli ovdje kad su snimali jedan od albuma", govori Rory ženi i djeci kad usele u kuću iz 18. stoljeća. Kuća je stvorena za horor film, krckava i stara, izolirana na osami van grada, povezana usamljenim mračnim hodnicima itd.

Idealno za neku ominoznu prikazu iz filma nadnaravne strave i užasa da noćima proganja familiju, zar ne?

Međutim, "Gnijezdo" nije horor, već drama, možda i zato što "indie" filmaš Sean Durkin nije hororski redatelj kao ni Scott Cooper ("Ludo srce", "Čelična pravda", "Crna misa", "Neprijatelji"), makar je potonji snimio aktualne "Duhove tame".

Durkin se proslavio tu negdje kao i Cooper, prije deset godina, kad je Sundance festival upriličio premijeru njegove snažne psihološke drame "Martha Marcy May Marlene" s Elizabeth Olsen u glavnoj ulozi. U međuvremenu, za razliku od Coopera, nije snimio nijedan film.

Ipak, Durkin "gnijezdi" film kao kvazi-horor. "The Nest", Durkinov drugijenac također premijerno prikazan na Sundance festivalu, svija hororsko gnijezdo poigravajući se s nekim nadrealnim ili nadrealnijim kadrovima (Allisoničina) usamljenog buđenja, značajnih pogleda u (pr)azno ili predskazanja karakterističnih za žanr strave i u biti može proći kao priča o duhovima, jednako kao i drama o disfunkcionalnom braku i obitelji, tj. kritika kapitalizma.

Stvar je da je ovdje horor psihološke, ne fizičke prirode, kao i pripadajuće "nasilje" koje je "internog" tipa (likovi pate "iznutra"), a glavni akteri su se toliko emotivno udaljili jedni od drugih da kad šetaju po kući izgledaju kao da su duhovi vlastite prošlosti u kojoj su imali nešto zajedničko. Glumci odlično predočavaju tu distanciju i Law je ovdje u jednoj od najboljih uloga dosad ("Bliski odnosi", "Umjetna inteligencija", "Novi papa", "Gattaca"), a Coon je dala izvedbu karijere ("Nestala", "Preostali").

Tako, Allisoničina rečenica "Svi ste mi stranci, svi", ima veću težinu od proklamacije "sve je loše u vezi s ovom kućom", a suprostavljena je sceni kad pijana i sama pleše među neznancima u noćnom klubu. I sam film, jedan od onih koji biva bolji kad o njemu naknadno razmišljate nakon što ga pogledate, odvija se u prošlosti, točnije "yuppiejevskim" osamdesetim godinama prošlog stoljeća.

Vremenska odrednica nije navedena, ali otkrivaju je aktualne vijesti o predsjedniku Ronaldu Reaganu koje slušamo dok su Rory i Allison još u Americi, u domu nedaleko New Yorka. "Mislim da se trebamo preseliti u Britaniju, ukazala se prilika", predlaže Rory, a Allison ističe da je u pitanju njihova četvrta selidba.

"Ne gledaj unatrag, ovo je novi početak", sugerira "opasno ambiciozni" bankar Rory ženi, "prekrasnoj plavoj Amerikanki" koja se bavi konjogojstvom. Njega je iz rodne Britanije u Ameriku "odvukao američki san", no sad se vraća u londonsku firmu godinama nakon što ju je napustio misleći da će ga stečeno američko poslovno iskustvo načiniti milijunašem u Londonu.

Rory je pohlepni "yuppie" i "social climber", opsjednut statusnim simbolima poput imanja koje, financijski bankrotiran, ne može priuštiti, ali se njime može pohvaliti šefu na domjencima za visoko društvo sa skupim kaputima od nerca itd. na kojima je lako izgubiti identitet pretvarajući se da si netko drugi i lažući ženi o "velikom čeku koji stiže, onom pravom".

Upravo to on radi, pokušavajući odsanjati "američki san" u Britaniji za svoju familiju, da bi odsanjao samo košmar kad se članovi disfunkcionalne obitelji toliko emocionalno distanciraju da više "nitko nije isti". Razina njihove izolacije uklapa se u koronsko-karantensko doba i općenito "novo (ne)normalno" vrijeme kad su emotivni bankroti jednako učestala pojava poput ekonomskih.
