U sklopu 15. godišnjice postojanja Women‘s Bank-a, organizira se drugi po redu „Read for Profession“ – humanitarna večera s naglaskom na književnu turneju finske spisateljice Emmi Itäranta. Održat će se 12. listopada s početkom u 19 sati u hotelu Lapad. Događaj će otvoriti finski veleposlanik u Hrvatskoj Kalle Kankaanpää, a novinar Mislav Ćimić sa spisateljicom će diskutirati o njezinim nagrađivanim knjigama „Memory of Water“ i „The Moonlight Letters“. Donacije koje će se prikupiti od prodaje ulaznica, knjiga, sponzorskih donacija i dobrovoljnih priloga bit će usmjerene projektima Women‘s Bank-a u Africi i Aziji. Cijena ulaznice je 200 kuna te uključuje bife večeru, piće i lutriju. Ulaznice je moguće rezervirati do 7. listopada na e-mail adresi: dubrovnik@naistenpankki.fi.

Emmi Itäranta finska je spisateljica fiktivnih romana na finskom i engleskom jeziku. Njezina djela okarakterizirana su kao lirske distopije s jakim ekološkim podstrujama. Itärantin nagrađivani debitantski roman Memory of Water (2014.) preveden je na više od 20 jezika, a filmska adaptacija The Guardian of Water objavljena je 2022. godine. Popularni roman ušao je u uži izbor za nagrade: Philip K. Dick, Arthur C. Clarke i Golden Tentacle, a uvršten je i na počasnu listu nagrade Otherwise Award i među finaliste Premio Salerno Libro d’Europa. Osim toga Emmi je objavila još dva romana: 2016. godine „The Weaver“ (američki naslov)/„The City of Woven Streets“ (britanski naslov) i „The Moonday Letters“ (finsko izdanje „Kuunpäivän kirjeet“) 2020. godine.

Važno je istaknuti i ponovni uspjeh nedavnog događaja Women‘s Bank Walk, održanog početkom rujna na Stradunu. Osmi Women‘s Bank Walk po treći put zaredom Dubrovniku je donio prvo mjesto po prikupljenim donacijama – čak 8.900 eura! Ta brojka postignuta je zahvaljujući donacijama na mjestu događaja te mnogobrojnim internetskim i sponzorskim donacijama.

Ove godine Women‘s Bank obilježava 15 godina postojanja pa je sukladno tome cijela godina ispunjena brojnim događajima u Finskoj i nekoliko europskih gradova. Osim Women‘s Bank Walk-a u Dubrovniku je u svibnju održan događaj „Women‘s Bank Cultural Night“, gdje je prikupljeno ukupno 7 660 eura od prodaje ulaznica, lutrije, aukcije, sponzorskih i partnerskih donacija i ostalih dobrotvornih priloga. Tako će „Read for Profession“ biti treći ovogodišnji događaj Women‘s Bank-a u Dubrovniku. Prošle godine održan je isti događaj, ali sa spisateljicom Minnom Lindgren i novinarkom Reetom Meriläinen.

Humanitarna organizacija koja je pokrenula simbolični hod za žene, Women‘s Bank (Naisten Pankki), osnovana je 2007., po povratku skupine finskih poslovnih žena iz Liberije, koje su zatečene viđenim siromaštvom tamo, odlučile pomoći. Od osnutka do danas prikupljeno je više od 20 milijuna eura za borbu protiv siromaštva, čime je priliku za bolji život dobilo 460 000 ljudi u 14 zemalja. Bazirali su se na žene i na njihove mogućnosti samostalnog rada i zarađivanja. Ideja je educirati ih i na taj im način pomoći da same zarade za život jer se tako podiže kvaliteta života kako žena, tako i djece te u konačnici i cijele lokalne zajednice.

U sklopu 15. godišnjice postojanja Women‘s Bank-a, organizira se drugi po redu „Read for Profession“ – humanitarna večera s naglaskom na književnu turneju finske spisateljice Emmi Itäranta. Održat će se 12. listopada s početkom u 19 sati u hotelu Lapad. Događaj će otvoriti finski veleposlanik u Hrvatskoj Kalle Kankaanpää, a novinar Mislav Ćimić sa spisateljicom će diskutirati o njezinim nagrađivanim knjigama „Memory of Water“ i „The Moonlight Letters“. Donacije koje će se prikupiti od prodaje ulaznica, knjiga, sponzorskih donacija i dobrovoljnih priloga bit će usmjerene projektima Women‘s Bank-a u Africi i Aziji. Cijena ulaznice je 200 kuna te uključuje bife večeru, piće i lutriju. Ulaznice je moguće rezervirati do 7. listopada na e-mail adresi: dubrovnik@naistenpankki.fi.

Emmi Itäranta finska je spisateljica fiktivnih romana na finskom i engleskom jeziku. Njezina djela okarakterizirana su kao lirske distopije s jakim ekološkim podstrujama. Itärantin nagrađivani debitantski roman Memory of Water (2014.) preveden je na više od 20 jezika, a filmska adaptacija The Guardian of Water objavljena je 2022. godine. Popularni roman ušao je u uži izbor za nagrade: Philip K. Dick, Arthur C. Clarke i Golden Tentacle, a uvršten je i na počasnu listu nagrade Otherwise Award i među finaliste Premio Salerno Libro d’Europa. Osim toga Emmi je objavila još dva romana: 2016. godine „The Weaver“ (američki naslov)/„The City of Woven Streets“ (britanski naslov) i „The Moonday Letters“ (finsko izdanje „Kuunpäivän kirjeet“) 2020. godine.

Važno je istaknuti i ponovni uspjeh nedavnog događaja Women‘s Bank Walk, održanog početkom rujna na Stradunu. Osmi Women‘s Bank Walk po treći put zaredom Dubrovniku je donio prvo mjesto po prikupljenim donacijama – čak 8.900 eura! Ta brojka postignuta je zahvaljujući donacijama na mjestu događaja te mnogobrojnim internetskim i sponzorskim donacijama.

Ove godine Women‘s Bank obilježava 15 godina postojanja pa je sukladno tome cijela godina ispunjena brojnim događajima u Finskoj i nekoliko europskih gradova. Osim Women‘s Bank Walk-a u Dubrovniku je u svibnju održan događaj „Women‘s Bank Cultural Night“, gdje je prikupljeno ukupno 7 660 eura od prodaje ulaznica, lutrije, aukcije, sponzorskih i partnerskih donacija i ostalih dobrotvornih priloga. Tako će „Read for Profession“ biti treći ovogodišnji događaj Women‘s Bank-a u Dubrovniku. Prošle godine održan je isti događaj, ali sa spisateljicom Minnom Lindgren i novinarkom Reetom Meriläinen.

Humanitarna organizacija koja je pokrenula simbolični hod za žene, Women‘s Bank (Naisten Pankki), osnovana je 2007., po povratku skupine finskih poslovnih žena iz Liberije, koje su zatečene viđenim siromaštvom tamo, odlučile pomoći. Od osnutka do danas prikupljeno je više od 20 milijuna eura za borbu protiv siromaštva, čime je priliku za bolji život dobilo 460 000 ljudi u 14 zemalja. Bazirali su se na žene i na njihove mogućnosti samostalnog rada i zarađivanja. Ideja je educirati ih i na taj im način pomoći da same zarade za život jer se tako podiže kvaliteta života kako žena, tako i djece te u konačnici i cijele lokalne zajednice.

U sklopu 15. godišnjice postojanja Women‘s Bank-a, organizira se drugi po redu „Read for Profession“ – humanitarna večera s naglaskom na književnu turneju finske spisateljice Emmi Itäranta. Održat će se 12. listopada s početkom u 19 sati u hotelu Lapad. Događaj će otvoriti finski veleposlanik u Hrvatskoj Kalle Kankaanpää, a novinar Mislav Ćimić sa spisateljicom će diskutirati o njezinim nagrađivanim knjigama „Memory of Water“ i „The Moonlight Letters“. Donacije koje će se prikupiti od prodaje ulaznica, knjiga, sponzorskih donacija i dobrovoljnih priloga bit će usmjerene projektima Women‘s Bank-a u Africi i Aziji. Cijena ulaznice je 200 kuna te uključuje bife večeru, piće i lutriju. Ulaznice je moguće rezervirati do 7. listopada na e-mail adresi: dubrovnik@naistenpankki.fi.

Emmi Itäranta finska je spisateljica fiktivnih romana na finskom i engleskom jeziku. Njezina djela okarakterizirana su kao lirske distopije s jakim ekološkim podstrujama. Itärantin nagrađivani debitantski roman Memory of Water (2014.) preveden je na više od 20 jezika, a filmska adaptacija The Guardian of Water objavljena je 2022. godine. Popularni roman ušao je u uži izbor za nagrade: Philip K. Dick, Arthur C. Clarke i Golden Tentacle, a uvršten je i na počasnu listu nagrade Otherwise Award i među finaliste Premio Salerno Libro d’Europa. Osim toga Emmi je objavila još dva romana: 2016. godine „The Weaver“ (američki naslov)/„The City of Woven Streets“ (britanski naslov) i „The Moonday Letters“ (finsko izdanje „Kuunpäivän kirjeet“) 2020. godine.

Važno je istaknuti i ponovni uspjeh nedavnog događaja Women‘s Bank Walk, održanog početkom rujna na Stradunu. Osmi Women‘s Bank Walk po treći put zaredom Dubrovniku je donio prvo mjesto po prikupljenim donacijama – čak 8.900 eura! Ta brojka postignuta je zahvaljujući donacijama na mjestu događaja te mnogobrojnim internetskim i sponzorskim donacijama.

Ove godine Women‘s Bank obilježava 15 godina postojanja pa je sukladno tome cijela godina ispunjena brojnim događajima u Finskoj i nekoliko europskih gradova. Osim Women‘s Bank Walk-a u Dubrovniku je u svibnju održan događaj „Women‘s Bank Cultural Night“, gdje je prikupljeno ukupno 7 660 eura od prodaje ulaznica, lutrije, aukcije, sponzorskih i partnerskih donacija i ostalih dobrotvornih priloga.
