Europa se bori s teškim toplinskim valovima koji su uzrokovali nezapamćene suše.
Znanstvenici kažu kako bi ovo ljeto moglo biti rekordno po visokim temperaturama. Recentne vremenske prognoze govore kako će temperature zraka biti sve više, no INews piše kako je naša generacija u prednosti jer, za razliku od raniih, nisu imali pristup suvremenim tehnologijama za predviđanje vremena.
Podsjećaju na najtoplije ikad zabilježeno ljeto u Europi, ono 1540. godine.
Već godinu ranije stanovnici Španjolske i Italije znali su da nešto nije u redu. Iako je bila zima, nije bilo kiše ni snijega. Zima je bila "poput ljeta u srpnju", piše Jutarnji list.
Nekoliko mjeseci kasnije panika se proširila i na sjeveru Europe. Mjesecima nije bilo ni kapi kiše. Bio je to početak najgore suše u europskoj povijesti. Od Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva do Poljske, prošlo je jedanaest mjeseci bez gotovo ikakvih padalina, a temperature su bile sve više.
Sve je to uzrokovalo velike štete poljoprivrednicima. Proizvođači vina nisu imali gotovo nikakvog uroda, a rijeka Rajna u Njemačkoj je vodostajem bila na svega deset posto od uobičajenog.
Svećenici su počeli izvoditi obrede i moliti za kišu tijekom nedjeljnih misa, vojnicima je naređeno da čuvaju fontane, a seljaci u Francuskoj sakrivali su se u svojim domovima tijekom dnevnih vrućina. Bio je to i povod sukobima između Katolika i Protestanata koji su se međusobno optuživali za podmetanje razarajućih šumskih požara. Došlo je do toga da su, zbog otmica i ubojstava, seljaci bili primorani zaključati se u svoje domove. Kontaminirana voda koju su pili težaci dovela je do teške dizenterije koja je ubila tisuće ljudi, a radnici na farmama nerijetko bi kolabirali na poljima.

- Naprosto nije bilo vode za održavanje usjeva žitarica. Zbog toga su porasle cijene osnovnih namirnica poput kruha, a siromašni si kruh više nisu mogli priuštiti - kazao je.
Znanstvenicima nije lako objasniti kako je došlo do tog fenomena jer se mogu osloniti samo na štura izvješća o količini padalina i temperaturama koje su vladale u to vrijeme, ali i to su vrlo upitne informacije jer u tom razdoblju još nisu izumljeni precizni termometri.
Ono što mogu reći je da su temperature bile i do šest stupnjeva više nego što je uobičajeno u prosjeku za to doba godine. Dr. Wetter kaže kako to treba sagledati uzevši u obzir informaciju da je naše najtoplije ljeto bilo tri stupnja vruće od prosjeka.

Vjeruje kako bi se čovječanstvo moralo pripremiti na to da će se ovakvi fenomeni događati sve češće. Štoviše, kaže, ekstremni vremenski uvjeti kakvi su zabilježeni 2003., 2015. te 2018., pokazuju obrazac ubrzanja klimatskih promjena.

Ovog su tjedna, javlja INews, znanstvenici upozorili da bi Europa mogla doseći ekstremne temperature koje su posljednji puta zabilježene 2003., ako ne i više. Wetter vjeruje da je samo pitanje vremena kada će nas pogoditi vremenska nepogoda poput one 1540. godine, jer istraživanja ukazuju na to da bi moglo doći do ozbiljnih suša, nestašica vode kao i masovnog pomora životinja.
- Po mom mišljenju, još nismo vidjeli najgore, ali sigurno je da idemo u tom smjeru i da će nas takvi događaji pogoditi u bliskoj budućnosti - zaključuje ugledni znanstvenik, prenosi Jutarnji list.

Europa se bori s teškim toplinskim valovima koji su uzrokovali nezapamćene suše.
Znanstvenici kažu kako bi ovo ljeto moglo biti rekordno po visokim temperaturama. Recentne vremenske prognoze govore kako će temperature zraka biti sve više, no INews piše kako je naša generacija u prednosti jer, za razliku od raniih, nisu imali pristup suvremenim tehnologijama za predviđanje vremena.
Podsjećaju na najtoplije ikad zabilježeno ljeto u Europi, ono 1540. godine.
Već godinu ranije stanovnici Španjolske i Italije znali su da nešto nije u redu. Iako je bila zima, nije bilo kiše ni snijega. Zima je bila "poput ljeta u srpnju", piše Jutarnji list.
Nekoliko mjeseci kasnije panika se proširila i na sjeveru Europe. Mjesecima nije bilo ni kapi kiše. Bio je to početak najgore suše u europskoj povijesti. Od Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva do Poljske, prošlo je jedanaest mjeseci bez gotovo ikakvih padalina, a temperature su bile sve više.
Sve je to uzrokovalo velike štete poljoprivrednicima. Proizvođači vina nisu imali gotovo nikakvog uroda, a rijeka Rajna u Njemačkoj je vodostajem bila na svega deset posto od uobičajenog.
Svećenici su počeli izvoditi obrede i moliti za kišu tijekom nedjeljnih misa, vojnicima je naređeno da čuvaju fontane, a seljaci u Francuskoj sakrivali su se u svojim domovima tijekom dnevnih vrućina. Bio je to i povod sukobima između Katolika i Protestanata koji su se međusobno optuživali za podmetanje razarajućih šumskih požara. Došlo je do toga da su, zbog otmica i ubojstava, seljaci bili primorani zaključati se u svoje domove. Kontaminirana voda koju su pili težaci dovela je do teške dizenterije koja je ubila tisuće ljudi, a radnici na farmama nerijetko bi kolabirali na poljima.

- Naprosto nije bilo vode za održavanje usjeva žitarica. Zbog toga su porasle cijene osnovnih namirnica poput kruha, a siromašni si kruh više nisu mogli priuštiti - kazao je.
Znanstvenicima nije lako objasniti kako je došlo do tog fenomena jer se mogu osloniti samo na štura izvješća o količini padalina i temperaturama koje su vladale u to vrijeme, ali i to su vrlo upitne informacije jer u tom razdoblju još nisu izumljeni precizni termometri.
Ono što mogu reći je da su temperature bile i do šest stupnjeva više nego što je uobičajeno u prosjeku za to doba godine. Dr. Wetter kaže kako to treba sagledati uzevši u obzir informaciju da je naše najtoplije ljeto bilo tri stupnja vruće od prosjeka.

Vjeruje kako bi se čovječanstvo moralo pripremiti na to da će se ovakvi fenomeni događati sve češće. Štoviše, kaže, ekstremni vremenski uvjeti kakvi su zabilježeni 2003., 2015. te 2018., pokazuju obrazac ubrzanja klimatskih promjena.

Ovog su tjedna, javlja INews, znanstvenici upozorili da bi Europa mogla doseći ekstremne temperature koje su posljednji puta zabilježene 2003., ako ne i više. Wetter vjeruje da je samo pitanje vremena kada će nas pogoditi vremenska nepogoda poput one 1540. godine, jer istraživanja ukazuju na to da bi moglo doći do ozbiljnih suša, nestašica vode kao i masovnog pomora životinja.
- Po mom mišljenju, još nismo vidjeli najgore, ali sigurno je da idemo u tom smjeru i da će nas takvi događaji pogoditi u bliskoj budućnosti - zaključuje ugledni znanstvenik, prenosi Jutarnji list.
