Projekt Brexita postao je poput neke luđakinje zatočene na tavanu, piše britanski Telegraph. Demoniziran, slomljenog duha, zanemaren, nadvija se nad Ujedinjenim Kraljevstvom. Brexit je pretvoren u nacionalnu psihodramu. Vlasti nemaju nikakvog plana za oslobađanje njegova potencijala - na čemu se gradilo kampanju izlaska iz Unije - male tvrtke se guše birokracijom, raspiruju se napetosti u Sjevernoj Irskoj, a izgleda da će biti sve gore, donosi Jutarnji list.

Torijevci su napravili toliku frku s Brexitom da je projekt probio granice poslije kojih se može vratiti u ono što se od istog očekivalo. S obzirom na eurofilsko raspoloženje laburista Brexit je nekako oduvijek bio ograničen na vladavinu konzervativaca.

Toj se vladavini nazire kraj, a gotovo ništa nije postignuto.

Ogromna količina političke energije se i dalje troši na brojne slijepe ulice, poglavito u Sjevernoj Irskoj. Prema sporazumskim točkama tzv. Sjevernoirskog protokola, sva roba koja ulazi u Sjevernu Irsku iz ostatka Ujedinjenog kraljevstva mora proći izvjesnu carisnku provjeru. Takav se dogovor sklapao kako bi se izbjeglo uvođenje šengenske granice na irskom otoku. Strahovalo se, naime, da bi taj potez mogao nanovo isprovocirati sukobe između britanskih lojalista i zagovornika cjelovitosti otoka.

Gotovo sedam godina nakon glasovanja na referendumu, fokus je i dalje na sličnim, izgleda nerješivim tehničkim razmatranjima - a većina britanskih građana sada već radikalno gubi interes za temu. Teška je stvarnost da čak ni oni koji su se naizgled zalagali za maksimalno iskorištvanje novih sloboda nikada nisu shvatili kako to toočno učiniti, oštar je konzervativni Telegraph.

Gdje su inovacije?

Nasuprot svemu tome, gotovo nikakva pozornost nije posvećena inovacijama - primjerice tome kako da se zemlja ponovno osmisli kao znanstvena supersila, kako da se stvori vodeće svjetsko regulatorno okruženje za tehnološke tvrtke te svi oni drugi iskoraci koji bi, s vremenom, uništili pretpostavke Remainersa (oni koju su na referendumu glasali za ostanak u EU) o ekonomskom potopu nakon izlaska.

Prihvaćena je mudrost u Westminsteru da će Brexit nastaviti živjeti, u najgorem slučaju kao politički fantom. No, Telegraph donosi prognozu kako bi Britanci mogli ponovno ući u EU - i to prije nego što mnogi misle. Brexit, kažu, naprosto nije doveo do nacionalnog resetiranja kakvog su milijuni ljudi očekivali. Umjesto toga počinje izgledati i pomalo besmisleno.

Zemlja se kreće u smjeru suprotnom od onoga što je Brexit najavljivao. Recimo, napuštanje EU-a moralo je rezultirati time da London ponovno preuzme kontrolu nad vlastitom useljeničkom politikom. Umjesto toga, vlada je rastrgana između nezasitnog apetita gospodarstva za jeftinom radnom snagom i populističke želje da se ograniči broj stranaca. Nadalje, Brexit je trebao gospodarstvo učiniti konkurentnijim. Pa ipak, britanske su vlasti povećale poreze jer poslovni lobiji opstruiraju deregulacijske napore kako bi u korijenu sasjekli eventualnu konkurenciju. Najveće postignuće Brexita je što je oštro razotkrio nesposobnost britanske političke klase, navodi The Telegraph.

Javno mnijenje

S druge strane, ankete javnog mnijena su se značajno promijenile u korist ostanka u Europskoj uniji. Dok 54 posto građana sada misli da je bilo pogrešno napustiti EU, tek njih 35 posto i dalje inzistira na ispravnosti odluke.

Jasno, u The Telegraphu su oprezni pa ističu da to još uvijek ne znači da biračima raste apetit za ponovnim pridruživanjem.

No, ako se ono desi, pridruživanje se nikako neće moći opisati razrađenom zavjerom eurofilske elite. Politički pijesak se pomiče na načine da se bliži odnos s Europskom unijom čini neizbježnim. Ako nastavi kipiti bijes među Laburistima, promjena politika i kampanja pridruživanja mogla bi postati neizbježna. Laburisti, između ostalog, kako bi osigurali dugovječnost nove generacije, moraju pridobiti i škotske glasove (većinom glasali za ostanak) velikom političkom gestom.

Što bi se u tom slučaju dogodilo s Torijevcima - strankom koja je prije nešto više od tri godine dobila povijesni mandat da "finišira Brexit"? Dojam je da konzervativna stranka ne bi mogla preživjeti sramotan ishod ponovnog pridruživanja. Možemo li konačno doživjeti pojavu nove stranke desnog centra koja bi imala šanse preuzeti vlast, pita se britanski The Telegraph. To je možda jedina stvar koja nas može spasiti, ističu.

Projekt Brexita postao je poput neke luđakinje zatočene na tavanu, piše britanski Telegraph. Demoniziran, slomljenog duha, zanemaren, nadvija se nad Ujedinjenim Kraljevstvom. Brexit je pretvoren u nacionalnu psihodramu. Vlasti nemaju nikakvog plana za oslobađanje njegova potencijala - na čemu se gradilo kampanju izlaska iz Unije - male tvrtke se guše birokracijom, raspiruju se napetosti u Sjevernoj Irskoj, a izgleda da će biti sve gore, donosi Jutarnji list.

Torijevci su napravili toliku frku s Brexitom da je projekt probio granice poslije kojih se može vratiti u ono što se od istog očekivalo. S obzirom na eurofilsko raspoloženje laburista Brexit je nekako oduvijek bio ograničen na vladavinu konzervativaca.

Toj se vladavini nazire kraj, a gotovo ništa nije postignuto.

Ogromna količina političke energije se i dalje troši na brojne slijepe ulice, poglavito u Sjevernoj Irskoj. Prema sporazumskim točkama tzv. Sjevernoirskog protokola, sva roba koja ulazi u Sjevernu Irsku iz ostatka Ujedinjenog kraljevstva mora proći izvjesnu carisnku provjeru. Takav se dogovor sklapao kako bi se izbjeglo uvođenje šengenske granice na irskom otoku. Strahovalo se, naime, da bi taj potez mogao nanovo isprovocirati sukobe između britanskih lojalista i zagovornika cjelovitosti otoka.

Gotovo sedam godina nakon glasovanja na referendumu, fokus je i dalje na sličnim, izgleda nerješivim tehničkim razmatranjima - a većina britanskih građana sada već radikalno gubi interes za temu. Teška je stvarnost da čak ni oni koji su se naizgled zalagali za maksimalno iskorištvanje novih sloboda nikada nisu shvatili kako to toočno učiniti, oštar je konzervativni Telegraph.

Gdje su inovacije?

Nasuprot svemu tome, gotovo nikakva pozornost nije posvećena inovacijama - primjerice tome kako da se zemlja ponovno osmisli kao znanstvena supersila, kako da se stvori vodeće svjetsko regulatorno okruženje za tehnološke tvrtke te svi oni drugi iskoraci koji bi, s vremenom, uništili pretpostavke Remainersa (oni koju su na referendumu glasali za ostanak u EU) o ekonomskom potopu nakon izlaska.

Prihvaćena je mudrost u Westminsteru da će Brexit nastaviti živjeti, u najgorem slučaju kao politički fantom. No, Telegraph donosi prognozu kako bi Britanci mogli ponovno ući u EU - i to prije nego što mnogi misle. Brexit, kažu, naprosto nije doveo do nacionalnog resetiranja kakvog su milijuni ljudi očekivali. Umjesto toga počinje izgledati i pomalo besmisleno.

Zemlja se kreće u smjeru suprotnom od onoga što je Brexit najavljivao. Recimo, napuštanje EU-a moralo je rezultirati time da London ponovno preuzme kontrolu nad vlastitom useljeničkom politikom. Umjesto toga, vlada je rastrgana između nezasitnog apetita gospodarstva za jeftinom radnom snagom i populističke želje da se ograniči broj stranaca. Nadalje, Brexit je trebao gospodarstvo učiniti konkurentnijim. Pa ipak, britanske su vlasti povećale poreze jer poslovni lobiji opstruiraju deregulacijske napore kako bi u korijenu sasjekli eventualnu konkurenciju. Najveće postignuće Brexita je što je oštro razotkrio nesposobnost britanske političke klase, navodi The Telegraph.

Javno mnijenje

S druge strane, ankete javnog mnijena su se značajno promijenile u korist ostanka u Europskoj uniji. Dok 54 posto građana sada misli da je bilo pogrešno napustiti EU, tek njih 35 posto i dalje inzistira na ispravnosti odluke.

Jasno, u The Telegraphu su oprezni pa ističu da to još uvijek ne znači da biračima raste apetit za ponovnim pridruživanjem.

No, ako se ono desi, pridruživanje se nikako neće moći opisati razrađenom zavjerom eurofilske elite. Politički pijesak se pomiče na načine da se bliži odnos s Europskom unijom čini neizbježnim. Ako nastavi kipiti bijes među Laburistima, promjena politika i kampanja pridruživanja mogla bi postati neizbježna. Laburisti, između ostalog, kako bi osigurali dugovječnost nove generacije, moraju pridobiti i škotske glasove (većinom glasali za ostanak) velikom političkom gestom.

Što bi se u tom slučaju dogodilo s Torijevcima - strankom koja je prije nešto više od tri godine dobila povijesni mandat da "finišira Brexit"? Dojam je da konzervativna stranka ne bi mogla preživjeti sramotan ishod ponovnog pridruživanja. Možemo li konačno doživjeti pojavu nove stranke desnog centra koja bi imala šanse preuzeti vlast, pita se britanski The Telegraph. To je možda jedina stvar koja nas može spasiti, ističu.
