Predsjednik Sjedinjenih Američkih Država Joe Biden povezao je u četvrtak tijekom obraćanja naciji rusku invaziju na Ukrajinu koja je počela krajem veljače 2022. godine i Hamasov iznenadni napad na Izrael koji se dogodio 7. listopada te pozvao Amerikance da ne zaborave da su "svjetionik" ostatku svijeta, javlja The Guardian.

Biden je tijekom svog tek drugog obraćanja iz Ovalnog ureda rekao da će od Kongresa SAD-a zatražiti da pomoć pošalje i Izraelu i Ukrajini te odbacio antisemitizam i islamofobiju koji su prisutni u Americi.

Bidenov govor trajao je 15 minuta, a predsjednik SAD-a ga je iskoristio kako bi povezao rat u Ukrajini i rat na Bliskom istoku kako bi američke glasače koji su umorni od ratova i pripadnike Republikanske stranke podsjetio na obveze koje Amerika ima. Povezivanje ta dva sukoba nekima jamačno neće najbolje sjesti, pogotovo zato što se Izrael, koji je u vojnom smislu izrazito moćan, priprema za invaziju na Gazu, donosi Jutarnji list.

"Hamas i Putin predstavljaju različite prijetnje, ali ovo im je zajedničko - oboje žele uništiti susjednu im demokraciju", rekao je Biden. Spomenuti ratovi velik su diplomatski test za 80-godišnjeg predsjednika SAD-a koji je prije bio predsjednik Odbora za vanjsku politiku Senata SAD-a, a koji je stariji od samog Izraela.

Biden se zatim okrenuo Ukrajini. "Znam da se čini kao da su ti konflikti udaljeni. Prirodno je pitati se zašto je to Americi važno? Dopustite da vam kažem zašto su uspjeh Izraela i Ukrajine od vitalne važnosti za sigurnost SAD-a", rekao je predsjednik Amerike te dodao da je nekoliko sati prije obraćanja razgovarao s ukrajinskim predsjednik Volodimirom Zelenskim.

"Povijest nas naučila da teroristi i diktatori koji ne plate za svoj teror i agresiju uzrokuju još više kaosa, smrti i uništenja. Oni samo nastave, a cijena koju Amerika i svijet plaćaju i prijetnja s kojom se suočavaju samo raste", ustvrdio je Biden.

Iako će analitičari i komentatori svjetskih prilika vjerojatno reći da rat u Ukrajini i rat na Bliskom istoku nisu usporedivi, Biden je paralelu koju je povukao između njih iskoristio kako bi Kongres SAD-a zamolio da od njih ne odustane. "Američko vodstvo drži svijet na okupu. Savezništva koja je Amerika sklopila drže nas sigurnima. Američke vrijednosti nas čine partnerom s kojim druge zemlje žele surađivati. Ne vrijedi to sve dovesti u pitanje tako što ćemo odustati od Ukrajine i okrenuti leđa Izraelu", rekao je predsjednik SAD-a.

Biden je dodao da će u petak Kongresu poslati hitan zahtjev da partnerima SAD-a, među kojima su i Izrael i Ukrajina, pošalje financijsku pomoć. "Pametna je to investicija koja će se Americi isplatiti", dodao je predsjednik SAD. Očekuje se da će Bidenov zahtjev biti "težak" oko 100 milijardi dolara, s tim da će 60 milijardi otići Ukrajini, a 10 Izraelu. Međutim, zahtjev će biti poslan Kongresu u trenutku kada Zastupnički dom, u kojem Republikanska stranka ima malu većinu, nema predsjednika.

Predsjednik SAD-a odbacio je tijekom govora antisemitizam i islamofobiju koji se šire Amerikom. "Svima koje boli... Želim da znati da vas vidim. Vi ovdje pripadate. Želim vam reći da ste svi vi Amerika. Znam da mnoge od vas u muslimansko-američkoj, arapsko-američkoj i palestinsko-američkoj zajednici te mnoge druge boli te da ste revoltirani i da si govorite, ‘sad će opet biti islamofobije koje je bilo nakon 11. rujna‘, rekao je Biden.

"Amerika je još uvijek svjetionik za ostatak svijeta. Međutim, ne smijemo odugovlačiti. Znam da je Amerika podijeljena. Moramo to nadići. Ne smijemo dopustiti da stranačka sitničavost stane između nas i naših obveza. Ne smijemo dopustiti teroristima poput Hamas i tiranima poput Vladimira Putina da pobjede", zaključio je Biden.

Predsjednik Sjedinjenih Američkih Država Joe Biden povezao je u četvrtak tijekom obraćanja naciji rusku invaziju na Ukrajinu koja je počela krajem veljače 2022. godine i Hamasov iznenadni napad na Izrael koji se dogodio 7. listopada te pozvao Amerikance da ne zaborave da su "svjetionik" ostatku svijeta, javlja The Guardian.

Biden je tijekom svog tek drugog obraćanja iz Ovalnog ureda rekao da će od Kongresa SAD-a zatražiti da pomoć pošalje i Izraelu i Ukrajini te odbacio antisemitizam i islamofobiju koji su prisutni u Americi.

Bidenov govor trajao je 15 minuta, a predsjednik SAD-a ga je iskoristio kako bi povezao rat u Ukrajini i rat na Bliskom istoku kako bi američke glasače koji su umorni od ratova i pripadnike Republikanske stranke podsjetio na obveze koje Amerika ima. Povezivanje ta dva sukoba nekima jamačno neće najbolje sjesti, pogotovo zato što se Izrael, koji je u vojnom smislu izrazito moćan, priprema za invaziju na Gazu, donosi Jutarnji list.

"Hamas i Putin predstavljaju različite prijetnje, ali ovo im je zajedničko - oboje žele uništiti susjednu im demokraciju", rekao je Biden. Spomenuti ratovi velik su diplomatski test za 80-godišnjeg predsjednika SAD-a koji je prije bio predsjednik Odbora za vanjsku politiku Senata SAD-a, a koji je stariji od samog Izraela.

Biden se zatim okrenuo Ukrajini. "Znam da se čini kao da su ti konflikti udaljeni. Prirodno je pitati se zašto je to Americi važno? Dopustite da vam kažem zašto su uspjeh Izraela i Ukrajine od vitalne važnosti za sigurnost SAD-a", rekao je predsjednik Amerike te dodao da je nekoliko sati prije obraćanja razgovarao s ukrajinskim predsjednik Volodimirom Zelenskim.

"Povijest nas naučila da teroristi i diktatori koji ne plate za svoj teror i agresiju uzrokuju još više kaosa, smrti i uništenja. Oni samo nastave, a cijena koju Amerika i svijet plaćaju i prijetnja s kojom se suočavaju samo raste", ustvrdio je Biden.

Iako će analitičari i komentatori svjetskih prilika vjerojatno reći da rat u Ukrajini i rat na Bliskom istoku nisu usporedivi, Biden je paralelu koju je povukao između njih iskoristio kako bi Kongres SAD-a zamolio da od njih ne odustane. "Američko vodstvo drži svijet na okupu. Savezništva koja je Amerika sklopila drže nas sigurnima. Američke vrijednosti nas čine partnerom s kojim druge zemlje žele surađivati. Ne vrijedi to sve dovesti u pitanje tako što ćemo odustati od Ukrajine i okrenuti leđa Izraelu", rekao je predsjednik SAD-a.

Biden je dodao da će u petak Kongresu poslati hitan zahtjev da partnerima SAD-a, među kojima su i Izrael i Ukrajina, pošalje financijsku pomoć. "Pametna je to investicija koja će se Americi isplatiti", dodao je predsjednik SAD. Očekuje se da će Bidenov zahtjev biti "težak" oko 100 milijardi dolara, s tim da će 60 milijardi otići Ukrajini, a 10 Izraelu. Međutim, zahtjev će biti poslan Kongresu u trenutku kada Zastupnički dom, u kojem Republikanska stranka ima malu većinu, nema predsjednika.

Predsjednik SAD-a odbacio je tijekom govora antisemitizam i islamofobiju koji se šire Amerikom. "Svima koje boli... Želim da znati da vas vidim. Vi ovdje pripadate. Želim vam reći da ste svi vi Amerika. Znam da mnoge od vas u muslimansko-američkoj, arapsko-američkoj i palestinsko-američkoj zajednici te mnoge druge boli te da ste revoltirani i da si govorite, ‘sad će opet biti islamofobije koje je bilo nakon 11. rujna‘, rekao je Biden.

"Amerika je još uvijek svjetionik za ostatak svijeta. Međutim, ne smijemo odugovlačiti. Znam da je Amerika podijeljena. Moramo to nadići. Ne smijemo dopustiti da stranačka sitničavost stane između nas i naših obveza. Ne smijemo dopustiti teroristima poput Hamas i tiranima poput Vladimira Putina da pobjede", zaključio je Biden.

Predsjednik Sjedinjenih Američkih Država Joe Biden povezao je u četvrtak tijekom obraćanja naciji rusku invaziju na Ukrajinu koja je počela krajem veljače 2022. godine i Hamasov iznenadni napad na Izrael koji se dogodio 7. listopada te pozvao Amerikance da ne zaborave da su "svjetionik" ostatku svijeta, javlja The Guardian.

Biden je tijekom svog tek drugog obraćanja iz Ovalnog ureda rekao da će od Kongresa SAD-a zatražiti da pomoć pošalje i Izraelu i Ukrajini te odbacio antisemitizam i islamofobiju koji su prisutni u Americi.

Bidenov govor trajao je 15 minuta, a predsjednik SAD-a ga je iskoristio kako bi povezao rat u Ukrajini i rat na Bliskom istoku kako bi američke glasače koji su umorni od ratova i pripadnike Republikanske stranke podsjetio na obveze koje Amerika ima. Povezivanje ta dva sukoba nekima jamačno neće najbolje sjesti, pogotovo zato što se Izrael, koji je u vojnom smislu izrazito moćan, priprema za invaziju na Gazu, donosi Jutarnji list.

"Hamas i Putin predstavljaju različite prijetnje, ali ovo im je zajedničko - oboje žele uništiti susjednu im demokraciju", rekao je Biden.
